Had the pleasure of having breakfast this morning at 1836 Cafe In Bells TX. if you're ever between Bonham and Sherman you have to stop here and eat!!! One of the best Chicken Fried Steaks I've ever had. The sausage gravy made it super rich and flavorful. We got a Pecan Cinnamon Roll to go and had it for an evening snack. Breakfast and lunch all week and Dinner on Thursday and Friday. Great service, great people, and great food!! Check them out!!

Best Burger and chips around! Free mimosa on the weekends! Small quaint country living and serving owners! Breakfast is good too, but I'm in love with their burgers! Support your local businesses, because they give back locally!

Decided to take stroll to find this gem. Simple menu and delicious. I got the chicken and waffles with a side of flapjacks. It came with a choice of sausage or bacon. The sausage was delicious. The flapjacks were fantastic. The waitress is here was definitely hospitable. Nice to see kind people showing that southern hospitality. Definitely will be back to try the burgers.

I first met the owners of 1836 when I started working at The Loft Pizza Pub. I had already heard wonderful things about the Cafe's food & people prior & after talks with them it's obvious the love they poor into their business as a whole. Their quaint Cafe is welcoming & filled with the most delicious smells of homemade food. I have honestly never read the menu so when I called in my 1st order I asked for the Chef's favorite breakfast item...THE BETTY & it did NOT disappoint. Some of the best fried potatoes I've had. Biscuits, eggs, sausage & gravy cooked to absolute perfection My goal is to try everything on the menu now! Get over to FB & give them a follow!!

Had breakfast for lunch there today 11/2/24. We had The Austin and the 1/2/3 egg plate. Service was friendly and prompt. Food came out quickly and just as we ordered. Took a cinnamon roll home they are HUGE.

Today I needed to stop in somewhere and wait for a locksmith and had 3 hours to kill. I found this lunch spot in Bells and if you don't know... there's not a ton to choose from! However, as soon as I walked in I was greeted with friendly hello's and the smell of the grill firing up. I got the chicken sandwich, which sounds basic, but it was absolutely not. Soooo amazing. Fries were seasoned and perfect. At the end they brought me a homemade chocolate chip cookie that was equally as good as everything else I tried. I'll absolutely be back and hopefully take advantage of complementary mimosas on the weekends! Definitely a Bells gem.

Burgers are so good. The homemade buns they have are the best! Homemade fries are also great.

The place is small. Great burgers. Tea was bottled. I did not like that. Counter service.

Live music rollin' on the back covered patio, cool breeze blowin', and folks kickin' back enjoyin' the night--just about as perfect as it gets That tap selection? Whew... they got more choices than a cowboy's got excuses. Something for everybody, and it was flowin' smooth all night Now let's talk food... we grabbed some chicken wings and I'll tell ya straight--those things were spot on. Cooked just right, full of flavor, and didn't last long on the table And if you're feelin' a little competitive, they've even got corn hole set up so you can toss a few bags while enjoyin' the tunes and the crowd All in all, this place has got that perfect mix of good music, great food, and a laid-back vibe that makes ya wanna stay a while. Cowboy verdict: We'll definitely be ridin' back for another Friday night under them patio lights

I like this place but you never know what you're going to get…read more I've had great experiences with the service and food but can also get pissed off and get up and walk out after I've ordered an ice water. The turn over seems high since every time I'm there the employees are different.. Today I sat at the bar. Ordered a water and menu. Then she walked away. I just wanted to place my order but after waiving her down twice and she didn't return I walked out. Once you order this place takes awhile at times. Hope this doesn't continue. Not sure when I'll return

Stopped in on way to another place (no food was had). No…read moretraditional bar taps on wall, so the bar is quite odd and void of norms. Non-traditional. The entry is as though it's a restaurant, primarily, but to me I was still visiting a brewery regardless. Beer menu had a variety yet was too minimalist in info. Zero descriptions. (Pic) Tried Sherman Bock, Kilt Switch and Dubai Chocolate Stout. Sherman Bock was my fellow beer drinkers choice. A solid bock, easy drinking type for a broad section of people. Kilt Switch is a Wee Heavy Scotch Ale that is hidden and buried in the menu simply under Ambers. WhatTF?! It's a 2 time GABF medal winner (2025 Silver 2018 Bronze) and the taste of match! Why not highlight it!? 903? Easy drinking, which is dangerous at 10.5%, and one not to pass up if you like Scotch Ales. Dubai Chocolate Stout 9%. As pics show, zero description of beer or ingredients are offered. It was a good "special" Stout style. Bit sweet to me and reminiscent of winter choco/fruit stouts. Good in its category. Just not my preferred style. Side note: Menu has another unlabled GABF medal winner under stouts but no visitor would know unless they ask a lot of questions or are a beer nerd (me?).

Absolutely never again…read more The beer was the biggest disappointment. We tried a flight of four different beers, and every single one was bitter and had an unpleasant aftertaste. I'd generously rate the beer a 2/10. It was also overpriced. They didn't have flight glasses (restaurant was empty ) so they served the beer in plastic cups The food wasn't much better. The burger buns were dry and chalky, the burger was overcooked, and one of the burgers came out completely wrong. For two burgers with fries, a flight of four beers, and a water, our total was about $70 (including an 18% tip). For the quality we received, it wasn't worth the price. Overall, the beer, food, and value were all disappointing. We won't be back.
