10/10 One Fifty Ones new menu is updated with a variety of new menu items. I have been a regular here since the beginning of the summer. Usually I am not much of a yelper but I believe this place deserved a review. The servers and bartenders are friendly and I have always enjoyed the service I received. 100% will be coming back. read more

We held our wedding reception at One Fifty One Kitchen | Bar and we couldn't be happier about it. Their events manager, John, was a pleasure to work with. They worked with our budget and made us feel heard throughout the planning process. All of our outside vendors had no issues communicating and coordinating with the venue, and the logistics of our day went off without a hitch. It was amazing to see their staff work seamlessly throughout the evening, whether it be the wait staff or bartenders. We received a lot of compliments from our friends and family on how perfect the venue was for our group (we had 100 guests). Also, the food was AMAZING. read more

Food was okay, nothing I'll go back for. I tried food from everyone plates along with mine. There was nothing that gave me that, I gotta come back here feeling. Small menu as while. read more

Vinny is the best waiter I've ever had in my life. Give that man a RAISE!!!!! Good good too.

Wow, great cheeseburger. Bacon jam! cheese sauce! aoli and homemade pickles. Great recipe but unfortunately undercooked... My date liked his salmon a lot, but complained about the tiny portion. read more

This place has a great atmosphere and now with the new chef, they have some of the best food in Elmhurst!!

I am writing this review knowing that I am basing it off of one visit only, and I will come back another time to give it another chance and will update my review again but after the first visit I was really disappointed to the point that I wanted to write something now. My wife and I were in the area and looking for a place for a nice site down dinner and based on some reviews settled on One Fifty One Kitchen. We were there early enough that we were the only people there except a couple sitting at the bar, asking if the kitchen was open the hostess said yes and seated us against the wall, I have to say the place looked great inside and was already excited about what we were going to order based on the look of the restaurant. The waitress was knowledgeable and helpful in picking some wine to go with our food and we really liked that almost everything was local and they even gave extra explanations behind where it came from. I ended up ordering some fish and my wife got a burger, this is where my experience took a hard turn from where it was at that point. My wife ordered her burger well done and it came out practically rare, I ordered the fish and while it is a little harder to visually see I think mine was a little under cooked as well. I could be more understanding if it was a busy night and someone lost track of how long our food had been on but we were honestly the only people eating there and that's why I asked if they kitchen was open/ready. The waitress saw specifically my wife's burger and took it back and removed the charge from our bill and she was very apologetic and honestly did an amazing job all things considered, I just think my dissatisfaction comes from the kitchen letting food that wasn't really cooked correctly to go out. read more

I'm an extremely awkward person so sending things back to the kitchen is never easy for me to do, but the kitchen staff was lacking tonight. The sever was extremely sweet and accommodating, but the baked Bree we ordered only contained the cheese casing and no cheese itself so it had to be sent back. It was the most disappointing Bree we have ever had. (Or lack there of) Luckily, it was removed from our bill. My husband and I ordered hamburgers, his rare and mine medium. Both burgers came to us extremely rare, my husband only ate his because he was very hungry. The burgers were so rare the patty did not stay together. (Eww...) I will heat mine up itself when we get home because I'm not sending another dish back. Oh well, I heard good things about this place. Two stars for the sake of the server, but the food was subpar. The server did everything he could to make things right and I'm grateful for that. Will not be returning. read more

This is my first time at this place and I will come back for sure. Great place and great food, our server Dennis was wonderful.

Had brunch today with my girlfriend great food love the bottomless mimosas. Friendly staff and attentive.

Food was great. I had a burger and my husband had the lamb shank... both great. Brie was delicious.. But the service 5 star.. and love the atmosphere. Great drinks and knowledge of beer wine and cocktails ! Will be back! read more

Pretty venue but brunch was terrible. I can't speak for their lunch/dinner items but my eggs were over cooked, the potatoes tasted like they were battered and deep fried and my toast was served with a side of grape jelly- yuck. Coffee was good but I won't be back. read more

We loved the decor, and the location was great. I love the semi-private room up front for our table of eight, though it might've been nice to turn off the big TV in it that faces the door. Service was slow, but food and drink were great. read more

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for a good time, but tonight at 151 was a little excessive: Stopped at the bar to meet some friends, was 10 minutes into our drink at the bar when someone at the table next to the bar decided to relive her Alpha Chi Omega days and puked for almost 5 minutes straight in the middle of the restaurant Due to the previously mentioned "prompt" service, we waited almost 10 minutes to get our check to get out of there due to the horrific smell and as we left, still no mops, no apologies, no pine-sol in the air...just the smell of puke thickly waffling through air of the restaurant #stayclassy #alphachiomega #friendsgiving2018 read more

First time back in a while and wow is this place good! Wonderful service by Katie. We gave her choices on what to get and she and the team delivered. Plus bottomless Mimosas on Sundays. Just a wonderful experience. We will be back multiple times that's for sure. read more

We had a family gathering, and the food and service was outstanding! Our server was Denise and she was one of the best! We ordered a variety of appetizers and sandwiches for our late morning gathering and everything was fast, fresh and hot. The menu is seasonal, as well! Thanks Denise and 151 Kitchen & Bar. We'll be back! read more

This place is fantastic. There 151 drink, a version of an old fashioned utilizing brown butter was creative and delicious. The pork belly risotto appetizer was incredible, tender and crispy pork, tart apple and cheesy risotto made for an excellent combination. Their quinoa bowl with hanger steak was also well balanced perfection. The service was also excellent. read more

Today me and my friend went to pick up some food to go.Pretty nice atmosphere inside so we decided to sit and have a drink at the bar.The menu was not that great, not many choices but we picked the fastest option-salads. We have to wait 25 minutes to be ready!Wow!!! What does it take so long to cut greens and beats.I asked one of the servers how long more will take and he said soon.5 more minutes later our salads finally arrived.I asked why we have to wait so long and she answered me with bad attitude that as long as necessary! The worst surprise was when we get home and open the boxes...2 row bets and few green leafs!terrible don't go there! read more

We just returned from having a delightful lunch at 151 kitchen. This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised as we just read about the restaurant earlier in the day. All restaurants usually do their signature dishes very well so we like to judge restaurants on how well they handle the more mundane offerings. We have to say that their attention to the little things is excellent. We had crab cakes for a starter, you get three cakes, they are small but it is a starter, and they were very good. Great presentation and the accompanying greens were nicely seasoned. The cakes were followed by a bowl of tomato bisque soup and that was outstanding. Unctuously rich with a great tomato flavor. We both had their spicy chicken sandwich and this is where the kitchen shined. The sandwich is aptly named, it is spicy, but not annoyingly so. They fried it perfectly, crispy with juicy white meat, What made this dish exceptional were the fries. Beautifully cooked. Crisp without a hint of oil, a real gem. We finished, yes we were full, with a sorbet trio and, without fear of contradiction, hands down the best sorbet we've had in years. They make many of the condiments themselves and it shows. I loved the pickles they used on the sandwich, I already mentioned the fries but I didn't highlight the ketchup, great. They also made the aforementioned sorbet which blew us away. We were there on a fairly busy Saturday afternoon but the service was pleasant and they never made you feel rushed. Our hats are off to the kitchen and service staff, a wonderful job. read more

We've been here 3 times in the last 6 weeks, and probably 5-6 times this year. I love the decor of the restaurant and the vibe of the bar. When we were here last summer, they had opened the front window walls and it was like being out side (they have outside tables too). My husband and I love to try new dishes and combinations of foods, and the chef at 151 definitely does this with the menu. Most of the time we've had great experiences. It's truffle season now and for $10 extra the chef will grate a generous amount of truffles on to certain dishes. Truffles at Eataly are $11/gram so this is a fair price. My husband had tried this with the cavatelli stroganoff with braised beef last month and tonight with the tagliatelle and shrimp. He loves this extra flavor enhancement and when I tasted his tagliatelle I had to admit it was delicious. Between us we've had a couple of the fish dishes, the burger, fries, the shishito pepper appetizer, beet salad, and chicken (be sure to ask about this dish and how it's prepared--it's not your generic half chicken presentation). All were very good to great and, with the exception of the beet salad, had surprising taste combinations. A summer dish we loved it was the perch with spaetzle and apples. One of the reviewers said their server said everything was amazing. I think we had that server once. I agree that a server should not answer a query like that or describe any food ingredient as amazing. Not helpful! But I have since learned to say "tell me about... " a menu item. Another question to ask is "which appetizer/entree gets the most rave reviews from customers?" I also think it's important to get an idea of how a dish is prepared and presented because a list of ingredients doesn't tell the whole story, especially when the chef is creative. When the dish is explained in detail, you may decide it's not what you want. I hope others will continue to give this restaurant a try. We think it's one of the best restaurants in Elmhurst. read more

We had such an amazing dinner at One Fifty One. The cocktail and wine list was had so many delicious options, the ambiance was modern but extremely cozy, the service was excellent, and the food was incredible. I had the best Caesar salad and tagliatelle pasta that I've had in years, and the dark chocolate cake was the perfect finish. Can't wait to go back! read more

What a great place. We were passing through town and found this place on yelp and gave it a try. Our waitress Monica was great!!! The food was great as well. Try the chocolate chip cookie dessert!!!!! So amazing. read more

Surprised by the other negative reviews. Wife and I both thought the food and service was fantastic. Good unique beer/spirits selection and friendly bartenders. We ordered the giardiniera for an app and I ordered the flank steak for the main dish. Both were very tasty! The restaurant itself is very cool with the screened-in windows that let fresh air in on warmer days. Definitely would come back. read more

151 has developed an interesting and tasty menu. The environment is very pleasant. The staff friendly. With some inexperienced service from time to time. Bar is well stocked and menu changes slightly from time to time. We recently hosted a private party here and the team did a fantastic job. read more

Ambiance is great but food and service are just average. We had the giardinara appetizer, scallops and pasta with cream sauce. Nothing we had was bad per say but certainly didn't wow us. Probably won't be back. read more

When this location first opened, we were super excited about another good food option for our family. The first time, the food was excellent, the service was great and we fell in love. Last two times we we're there, it was quite empty, and the service was subpar. Last time we dined this past weekend, the food was poorly cooked and had a strong fish odor. The staff, to their credit, offered to cook it again or give us a refund, but unfortunately we will not be dining here again. Disappointing at this price point. read more

First time there are server was wonderful I believe her name was Denise. She was helpful and explained the menu. Food was great. We will be back! This is by far the worst restaurant I've ever been to. We went on new years eve and there was a fixed menu. Both me and my cousin had hair in our food. The waitress was awful. When speaking with the manager about our service and hair in food, he was nasty. Horrible food, horrible service. Don't waste your time especially if you're a person of color as it was obvious we were treated differently because of that reason alone!!.. read more

Third time here. First was for drinks after a movie. The bartender was attentive and knowledgeable about wine and apps. Liked it. Second time was for dinner. The limited menu was fine but my steak was under-cooked and chewy. The third time we went just to get out of the house on a Thursday night. The place was crowded, but not packed. We were given seats at a high top in the bar. After waiting over five minutes for someone to bring us a glass of water and menus, we got up to leave. It was only after we started putting our coats on that anyone paid any attention to us at all. Our server followed us out the door and asked why we were leaving. Really? read more

If you like fantastic farm to table fresh food, this is your place! The food and drink never disappoints! However, the service is down right horrible!! I asked for extra bread about 3 times, the waitress finally confirmed and ask if pretzel bread was ok, which I agreed, then they brought out their country loaf! Empty glasses left on table throughout most of dinner. Food and drinks delivered to the wrong person and then drinks never delivered. They really need to step up theirs game or, no matter how good the food, they've lost a customer. read more

3.5 stars I am hoping it was an off night. The decor is wonderful. It's trendy, yet very comfortable. Tables were spread out enough that you didn't feel crowded. We were seated in a very comfortable booth. The bar looked great, too. Our server was very nice and helpful, especially with wine. We started with cocktails, which were all very good, but a bit pricey for the suburbs. We then shared a bottle of wine, which was nice. The table split an appetizer, salad, side and main dish. The first two were fabulous! We started with the Brie, which was so good I want more! I wouldn't have minded if it was served with crackers or crostini, but I'll definitely get it again. The grilled Caesar was delicious as well, but very small- between 3 we each just had a couple bites. It was grilled the perfect amount and I really enjoyed the dressing and a healthy dose of Parmesan. We ordered the pork chop and a side of Mac n cheese. Here was the downfall. The pork had a huge fat cap. I mean, huge. It wasn't trimmed and none of the fat rendered during cooking. It said it had a sauce, but was not detectable. The veggies tasted the same as the pork, an overly faux smoky flavor. The meat tasted like propane to me, but a propane grill was not used- I even had to ask because it was that distinct! It even smelled like propane and the veggies tasted just the same. Even the Mac n cheese had a similar flavor and was very watery. The meat was cooked perfectly, but neither of these dishes were good at all. All of us agreed. We told the server since it was just bad and strange. He just said that's how it was and didn't offer an explanation or apology or something else. We were all hungry and since we were splitting one meal, finished it. I will give it another chance but hope other meals are better or that it was an off night! Update: went back about 2 months ago. Ordered the cheese plate, Cobb salad and corn chowder. The cheese plate was small and rather boring, but who doesn't love cheese? The Cobb salad (my mom had this) was strange and a bit off, the chicken she had on in was extremely over cooked... I wish I took a picture of it. Wouldn't recommend. I had the corn chowder which was extremely watery and pretty mundane in flavor. Again, I wouldn't recommend. Our server was beyond friendly and apologized after my mom complained about the food and was great to us all night. Pretty sure I will stick to cocktails at the bar from now on, especially given the price! read more

Friendly. Fun. Great food. Creative Cocktails. Good Service. My husband and I have been coming here since they opened. The current chef, Evan Sumrell, has created a delicious blend of creativity and good food. The blistered shishito peppers actually add movement to great taste! Since he arrived, the food gets better and better. He changes the menu seasonally, and takes advantage of utilizing local farms, as noted on the back of the menu. The cocktail list is also changing and evolving under the creative mixology of Johnny. The cavatelli stroganoff is like a classy version of what my mother made! Down home goodness done better than ever! Brunch is also worth it for the pastry board-homemade donuts, pecan rolls and banana bread with stylized flavored butter. Definitely worth the visit! read more

Came here for brunch. We were the only people in there because we came right when they opened so can't really rate the service, obviously it was good because there were no distractions. The decor and look of the restaurant is super nice, trendy, and pretty to look at. We sat in the front next to the screen so we could feel like we were outside but still be covered inside, I really like when restaurants have that inside/outside feel. We got the donuts and banana bread to share and they were both very good. I couldn't ordered banana bread just for myself to eat and I would've been fine. For entrees, Two of us got omelettes, one got the farmers breakfast, and one got eggs Benedict. I thought the omelette was super dry even though it had cheese in it. It wasn't very big either considering it was $13. The bacon that came with the farmers breakfast toast was not good at all. VERY rubbery and not good tasting. My friend who got eggs Benedict said that there was too much hollandaise sauce and she didn't like the Copa meat on it. All the entrees came with potatoes and we each got literally 6-8 whole mini potatoes on our plates. I don't know if that's what justified the high price tag for the entrees or what but it was a huge overkill even though we all agreed that the potatoes were the best things on our plates. I'd suggest to focus more on the quality and portion of the actual entree item and less on the side that it comes with. I probably won't be coming back for brunch because there's an egg harbor on the other block and I like their breakfast way better. The quality and the price just did not match up for me to justify. read more

Cool rustic place. We really liked the decor and overall feel of the restaurant. We were there for a Sunday brunch; the place did not seem busy at all but in spite of that they were very slow in their service. Only one person who was serving all tables- he was a one man show. Overall the food was good - we liked almost everything we ordered just the wait for long. The mimosas were good too . Lower rating only for slow service, we will try the place again . read more

Easily the best cocktails in Elmhurst. Chef Evan is amazing, the scallops he added to the menu recently is definitely my favorite. This restaurant had some learning curves to overcome when they opened but it's truly a great addition to Elmhurst's food scene. read more
