A captured market, when it's raining or just too damn nasty to leave the hotel. You're going to enjoy the hotel bar. Friendly tender, who is more than willing to shoot the breeze whilst she makes you a cocktail or serve you a beer. Cocktails are done via shaker, none of that premade or tap stuff here. They are of a good strength too. And even better they are happy to share the recipes and methods. Not too pricey either, add it to your room and get merry. read more

We were staying in the Hotel Indigo, and wanting a light breakfast Sunday morning, we sat at the bar and ordered our usual hot tea for me and coffee for Husband. I was pleased that my tea was organic. Neither of us were crazy hungry, so we shared a Breakfast Sandwich, which said it was two eggs, but my half alone seemed to have two eggs on it. We added bacon for three bucks more, which was a good move, as it was pretty plain. I even asked for hot sauce to perk it up a bit. We also had to ask for a second plate which took awhile to get. Fresh fruit that came with it was quite nice. Although simple it was good quality, and just the right fuel to get us started. And not bad prices for a hotel restaurant. read more

Why 5 stars? Because the service was impeccable. --- --- --- It's a crime against humanity that I can't remember the name of the bartender, but he was awesome. He was as friendly as they come, which I notice is a common theme in Asheville. Once we migrated outside and made it much less convenient for him to check on us, he still managed to escape from the bar and ensure that our glasses never went empty. The beer selection is solid, especially for a hotel bar. Apparently the cocktails they sling are pretty rad as well, according to other reviews. This bar is another reason Hotel Indigo is so incredible. read more

This spot is just past the lobby of hotel indigo and while it may not seem like it's be the best option, it's one of the few late night spots in town apparently. The place is packed and vibrant well into the night. I was staying at the hotel for a couple nights but wanted to explore the city, little did I know it's a small small city and they generally don't stay open all that late, at least not in January... read more

Highly recommended. We received fantastic service and the food was wonderful. The only hiccup was the flavor of the coffee. No worries, plenty of cream and sugar (I never use sugar!) took care of it. read more

As far as hotel bars go, this is a very pleasant one. Yes, you pay a premium for your beverages of choice, you're in the lobby of the Hotel Indigo, one of the finer hotels in the area, and IHG isn't going to let you slide by without paying for the convenience of a drink mere steps away from the elevator to your room. However, the service here is actually quite pleasant, courteous, attentive, and prompt. It almost makes it feel worth it. Would I come here just for a drink? Probably not. You'd have to park in their underground deck, and that could be slightly challenging on a frustration level. But if I had a friend staying at The Indigo, or maybe I was visiting someone at the Carolina Apartments across the street I wouldn't hesitate to grab a drink here. read more

The 151 Boutique Bar is one of my favorite cocktail bars in the Asheville area. In addition to that the food is great, the crowd that hangs there is smooth, and awesome music from the likes of Ben Hovey and the gang. Nice memories and future plans here definitely. read more

We've been to so many restaurants in downtown now that we've had to remember that there are restaurants inside hotels that also deserve our attention. So we decided to start trying them for lunch, starting with the ground floor of Hotel Indigo, since it's on our side of downtown. It's very easy to find. Just walk into the hotel and keep going. Full service restaurant, serving all three meals, plus stocked with a full bar. Dinner looks a little pricey, but that's not what we were here for. The lunch menu, while delicious looking, is a little lacking in selection. Basically just sandwiches and a couple of salads. Luckily there were a couple on there that caught our eye, so I went with the Jamaican Jerk Trout sandwich, and my wife got the Turkey, Apple, and Brie sandwich. Both were pretty outstanding. They came with fries, waffle cut, that remind me of the flavor and texture of Arby's Curly Fries, with that seasoning on there. Personally, I love it. The sandwiches were a great size, too big for my wife, actually, and both very well prepared. Service was friendly and fast. My only knock is the limited menu. I can't see myself going back too frequently just because there aren't that many things to choose from. I'd just be ordering the same couple of dishes over and over again. Still, definitely worth a try if you happen to be wandering around that end of the Grove Arcade or something and want a quick lunch. read more

I'm staying at the Indigo Hotel, which can best be described as casual luxe with warm and friendly service. 151 is located in the lobby. Usually I don't expect an amazing culinary experience at hotel restaurants, but 151 blew me away! I had a perfectly dressed and warmed locally sourced spinach and mushroom salad with shrimp. I threw caution to the wind and added shrimp on it rather than chicken...in the middle of the mountains, hundreds of miles from the ocean. I'm glad I did! These shrimp were as fresh as I get in Miami and were perfectly cooked and tender. The figs added a really nice balance and chew. The service in the restaurant also matched the superb hotel service. Great job all. read more

Stopped in for breakfast was looking for biscuits & gravy but didn't have it during the week, nice that they open really early though. I tried the loaded oatmeal with a side of bacon and fresh brewed coffee would highly recommend trying be aware that it's location is inside a hotel but you can tell everything is fresh made read more

This review is for the breakfast hour. Both the turkey omelet and breakfast burrito were tasty and very filling. $9 for the omelet and another $2 for a side of potatoes. The omelet ingredients were all "special" somehow: from the farm, organic, local cheese, etc. So the value is there. The atmosphere is sleek, clean and modern while on the conservative end of the pretension extreme. Service was friendly and attentive at the bar. I would eat here again while staying at Hotel Indigo, and am anxious to try 151 for cocktails. All of their beautiful glassware was on display while we ate breakfast and was a nice precursor of what their drinks might be like. read more

I am here on business. Rarely do I eat in the hotel because I like to try the local fair! But OMG! After reading the reviews on YELP, I decided to try the hotel restaurant and so glad I did. The 151 Burger was the best ever! Fresh, BIG, and worth every bite. Don't underestimate this hotel restaurant...you will be missing out! read more

When my fiance and I travel to Asheville (which is several times/year) we ALWAYS stay at the Indigo which is a fabulous hotel. 151 has a very chic atmosphere and we always meet interesting people and thoroughly enjoy the live entertainment. This most recent visit, we had breakfast for the first time at 151 and you wouldn't believe how amazining oatmeal and granola with milk and fruit could be! One of the most delicious breakfast's we have ever had! Sounds simple, I know... We will now be eating there every morning when we visit! Gabe's restaurant is top of the line! read more

My wife and I were enjoying a get away weekend in ashville and selected the Indigo Hotel. We had a coctail at the 151 Botique Bar on our first night. The atmosphere was not to my liking but others love it so you will have to choose. The drinks were fine but unremarkable. For breakfast the next morning we were joined in the restaurant by a dog (not a working dog). Although not allowed, the waiter said "we look the other way" unless someone complains. I for one do not enjoy sharing my eating space with a pet of any kind. We elected not to return to the bar or restaurant for the remainder of our stay. read more
