I have come here several times the food is always good and the service is great. I would definitely recommend, but if you are going on the weekend I would try to go before 10:00am because they get really busy around brunch time. Very busy place. Very good service. Our waitress was really nice and ensured we enjoyed our meal. The coffee is ok. I had the southern benedict with cafe potatoes. The benedict was good, but I think the sausage could have been left out of the gravy. The poached eggs were overcooked as there was no runny yolk. This is a great restaurant. A delicious breakfast and very friendly, efficient, and service-minded servers.

DO NOT expect a quick in and out. We were skipped in the "30min" wait. Could have been a fixable mistake with an apology or even being seated next. We were eventually seated and ordered immediately. Our server was the best part of the experience. The food unfortunately took way longer than breakfast/brunch should. Sadly, the food was average at best. Update: Well, lesson learned. No sooner had I posted a 4-star review than I just had the most awful experience with 1431. Specifically a gentleman (did not get his name) who answered the phone... My husband picked up a to-go order for us and got home to discover 1/2 the order was wrong. Not a huge deal - got a veggie omelette instead of the veggie scramble. I called to just give them a heads up about what had happened so that it wouldn't happen to other people (busy day/time but attention to detail is important), and was aggressively told that we got what we ordered. He went so far as to say that he doesn't like doing to-go orders anyway and that if we don't want to risk picking up an incorrect order we just shouldn't order to-go. And then hung up on me. WOW. I don't imagine they'll go out of business like tomorrow. But I can't imagine that with an attitude like that they will be in business for much longer. We were weekend regulars (both dine in and carry out) but will never be back. There's plenty of good food in this town that doesn't include a side of aggression. read more

Would love to recommend this place, and have been going for quite some time and never had an issue, but this afternoon was a bit too much and a phone call with what I assume is one of the managers puts an end to out patronage of this establishment. When you order one thing, get home, and find another thing entirely it's a little annoying. It happens though. When you call and politely point out the problem and are told that if you don't want to dine in then you shouldn't come here...as Ron Burgundy said, "That escalated quickly." Customer service is paramount in this day and age and arguing with your customers over an order, then aggressively talking over them, and hanging up on them is beyond the pale. It's unnecessary and rude and certainly makes it known that they no longer want our business. read more

First visit... thought I would try the special... however I didn't want the juice but was told I had to take it. I ordered tea and asked if possible to substitute it. "Not possible". I mean if the special is difficult to order and I mentioned it was my first time dining why not explain things a little bit better. I really wanted to try something new. The service was great. The waitress was really sweet. The only issue was the taste. It was really bland and had to add a lot of salt to taste the food. No seasoning flavor to the fried chicken sandwich I ordered. The bun was sticky and sweet tasting, so could not eat that. Just added my chicken to the salad that I had as a side. My buddy and I have been coming here for years for breakfast on Saturday mornings. The food is delicious, and the wait staff have always been attentive, even when the breakfast crowd comes in and the place is packed. Try the French toast with eggs - that's my favorite. It's true the waitress who seated us was clearly upset when we asked for a booth, which, she informed us, was not her station. TMI. I just wanted a booth. You really have to rate this place on the food. Kayla at The Grove told us this was hands down the best place for breakfast in Cedar Park, maybe even in the greater Austin area! Kayla, thank you! Our waitress, Rene, was sweet, charming, funny, quick, efficient and helpful! Thank goodness we were seated in her "station"! The food comes out fast, hot, and expertly prepared. And I'm picky. My Bacon and Swiss Omelet was spectacular. My only complaint - too much bacon - if that's even a thing! The accompanying biscuit was pure biscuit heaven. Tender, moist, melt in your mouth biscuit heaven. Why didn't I take a photo?? I forgot - so go eat there, see for yourself! Eggs Benedict are a specialty here and they are as amazing as the omelet. I wish we had read Danah's review before we went in to the restaurant today. We had a similar experience. We had to wait for a table but that wasn't the problem. Once we were seated we gave our breakfast order at the very same time that we ordered our coffee. We got our coffee and then waited and waited and waited for our food. The waitress finally came over and informed us our food order had just gone in.. for some reason it never left her hand held device until just then. Almost Everyone that was seated after us had received their food and finished and were leaving the restaurant. And we were still waiting on our food. When our food finally came she said they would comp our coffee or a free piece of pie. Not exactly what we expected, we just wanted good service and HOT FOOD! All of our food was NOT hot, seemed like it had been sitting there a while and had cooled off. We started to talk to the manager but so glad we didn't now after reading the managers reply to Danah's 1 star review. We won't be back. She went above our expectations in great service that you don't see much anymore as many places are dealing w staffing issues. Autumn has a great attitude and will definitely bring us back! Tacky paint colors, clunky wooden chairs, kids coloring pages taped to the hostess stand, and slices of pie in a tiny dessert fridge to make your mouth water! Reminds me of every diner from my childhood. Keep in mind If you get there after 10 am on a weekend morning you will probably have to put your name on the wait list but its rarely long enough to make you impatient. When you get to your table you will be waited on by a sweetheart who gets your order right every single time- No matter which server you get. Thats a guarantee. When your food arrives it will be piping hot and DELICIOUS. Eggs made to order and the chef can make it any and every way! Lots of options on the giant menu. Staples like pancakes, biscuits and gravy, omelettes and coffee! Splurges like crem brulee french toast and mimosas! My favorite of all the menu items are the specials. Bathroom floors were disgusting, sticky and dirty. The booths were ripped, not even duct taped. Slow service and eggs tasted like powder eggs. We waited forever for our food with no updates, then sat a long time with no syrup for pancakes. The blueberry pancakes were ok but we will not be back. I was in the area Sunday afternoon & despite unpleasant reviews decided to give it a shot. Glad we did, staff was great we were greeted by two older ladies/host at the entrance & food was good! I ordered a breakfast Fried Chicken&Waffle plate. Waffles were great, chicken was a bit bland but it does come with a side of white cream gravy that adds to flavor. Husband ordered the breakfast Hamburger Steak, which is basically a beef patty w/grilled onion, 2 eggs & he chose the broccoli cheese casserole as a side he finished everything & was definitely pleased! We also had the Chicken Fried Bacon which was just ok (nothing special about it) if you've never had it and would like to try something different, but don't think we'll be ordering it again in the future. read more

My husband and I have been a couple of times in the past few years. Went about a week ago and when we walked in, the breakfast rush had just finished and left. The place was a mess understandably. We were seated and promptly served by Liz. We watched her bust her tail getting the restaurant back in order while still tending to all of her customers needs. The cafe was obviously short staffed. We were seated quickly about 2:15 PM on Easter Sunday. We knew they closed at 3 PM and we were advised of that when we were given our menus. Hubs' breakfast looked amazing, and he confirmed the eggs were nicely done, the potatoes were the way he likes them and the bacon outstanding. I will definitely come back for breakfast even though the coffee wasn't to my liking. My meal was not as satisfying but I will definitely give them another chance. I ordered a grilled chicken breast, green beans and salad. It was the puniest breast I'd ever had served to me - maybe 4 ounces, with nary a spice on it, not even salt and pepper. I thought it was supposed to have been grilled? It obviously was skillet fried. The green beans were okay and the salad, well can't mess that up. I left hungry. But let us not overlook the fantastic breakfast! It really did look good. I'll order that next time. This is a mom and pop place so please give this place a try! read more
