Fabulous drive to the top of one of the elite AVAs nestled within the Napa Valley AVA! The views, once atop, are almost unreal! Perhaps the very best views of any winery in our opinion! The buildings were designed by renowned architect Howard Backen and are worth the trip just to see them! But the visit is really all about the wines! The wine making team is considered among the elite in all of Napa Valey -- just check out Philippe Melka and Paul Hobbs! Plus the fruit they grow at this elevation is some of the most sought after in all of Napa. We loved every wine, but were most in love with their Claret and their Cabernet! Then again their Syrah was amazing too! It is one of our favorite visits anywhere in Napa!

The service was fabulous. Our server was so friendly-we really enjoyed chatting with him. He also gave us a personal tour of the property, showing us the art pieces commissioned specifically for the property, the special little decor touches chosen by the founders themselves, and the member lounge upstairs with gorgeous views. We signed up for the baseline seated tasting which included four wines and some snacks, which was $65 per person. But the ultimate experience was so much more than that, and tailored to our tastes. When we checked in, they offered us a glass of their blanc de blanc while we were waiting. I love starting out an experience with a glass of something sparkling. Once we were sat, we started out with their rose, which was light and fruity. We enjoyed it so much we took home two bottles! They also brought the snacks around the same time, which were almonds, spicy mixed olives, crackers, and a cheese dip. I very much appreciate they asked about food allergies and sensitivities when we arrived, as I'm lactose intolerant. The next three wines were red blends, as Bella Union is Far Niente's experimental arm in their family of wineries. And all of the wines are young because Bella Union opened just a few years ago. But we enjoyed them all, some more than others to suit our particular palates. But the cool thing is that they also offered us a Pinot and a Chardonnay after asking what wine we drink at home. This touch made the experience feel tailored to our tastes and was an unexpected surprise. We had such a lovely time here, we look forward to checking out the other Far Niente properties in the future.

They position themselves as trying to be different than the Napa establishment with their reds (mostly blends) and whites. Wines are good but really want to experience wines with some age to get a feeling of ageability of the new wines. Wasn't fond of the Jewel Box experience in part how it was curated and in part who was curating it. Not fond of wines pre-poured, really not fond of "try wines with whatever" approach rather than pairing with specific items. Food was very good and did enhance the wines but most came on plate and were really small bites (eg. Not enough to taste with 4 initial wines). Host was definitely try to appeal to younger GenZ audience. Seemed put off when we asked to try other wines and worse forgot we had add ons the experience. The Jewel Box space was nice but not super special. The saving grace was Marcus who brought a special pour, clearly had done his research on us as members and took really great care of us. Definitely going to ask for him in the future.

A nice Tuscan villa feel with the lounge area. You're able to have a tasting there but we were seated on the patio overlooking the million dollar view. Before hand, we were pours a nice chilled white to start and enjoy while they were getting our table ready. It was only a min or two till we were escorted out to the table. Just enjoying a nice tasting there was worth it. In the tasting menu, of course a mixture of the whites and red. Everything poured was excellent. Of course their Cabernet was delicious. The Geo Cab Sauvignon was a hit compared to the Abel which was delicious as well. Mid tasting, people started to trickle in which was nice to see others enjoying themselves. The 2018 relentless, a blend of Syrah and Petite Sirah: dark with hint of pepper, is tasting great. Followed by the side by side Hillside Select of 2018 and 2014. Both heavenly delicious!! It's a beautiful grounds and a great tour, and would highly recommend, specially since it comes with a snack at the end. We were able to do half and half pepperoni and mushroom pizza, and the tots were crispy, crunchy and hot. Easy check-in with a welcome drink and friendly service once seated. Even in the rain, the outdoor patio with warmers was beautiful and very comfortable.
