We were seated tucked away from other guests in a cozy, semi-private cave setting, which made the tasting feel intimate and relaxed. Our host was warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable, sharing great insights about the winery, the Stags Leap District, and the wines without ever feeling rushed. The cheese platter was a lovely addition and paired nicely with the tasting. Napa Neighbor Month also included 10% off wine purchases, so we happily brought home our favorites: the Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and the limited-production Cabernet Franc. We did a walk in wine tasting. They were super accommodating and got us a beautiful table outside. Enrique was very nice and friendly. My father in law and husband did not do a tasting but they still gave them some tastings, which was so nice. They had excellent wine!! My favorite of our whole trip in Napa. read more

My friend and I visited Pine Ridge Vineyards as part of a birthday trip for her, and we had a reservation for 3:30pm. It seems they close at 4:30pm, so I'm not too sure why they have reservation slots for 3:30pm - we felt pretty rushed throughout the tasting, and towards the end we were told that the wines for tasting would be taken away soon. Our host was friendly but seemed a little spread thing covering 4+ tables - he mentioned he was covering both tables inside and outside. We didn't learn much about the wines because of this, but unfortunately none of them really stood out to us and we didn't end up take anything home with us. The grounds do have a really interesting demonstration vineyard that showcases different ways that vines are grown and we did take a walk through the vines and enjoyed the views a little before leaving which made up for the brisk and overall unmemorable tasting. read more

A beautiful winery and fine wine. Each visit is always a pleasant experience from the garden area to the cave experience. The staff are professional and knowledge about the tasting experience and what you're tasting. A few times we have had our tasting outside in the garden patio area and it was nice. You have a view of the grapes under shaded trees. The tastings inside are just as nice. They have treat bags you can give to your fur baby- dog friendly winery! I will be back. This was my favorite wine tour and winery of my trip to Napa. It came highly recommended from my coworker who is a part of their wine club. It is beautiful outside on the patio with the green hills and vineyards surrounding you. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up solo on the group tour. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and not overly salesman or talking so much that you could not take in the experience around you. They end in the cave and give you this whole seating area with some light snacks to do your tasting. While this definitely would have been more fun with my friend, it was also enjoyable by myself. I ended up buying 3 bottles but wished I had bought more. I was so so close to joining the wine club but maybe next time when I bring my husband there because we will definitely be adding this place to our agenda. read more

Pine Ridge is my favorite winery in Napa! I joined the wine club last year, and every visit is great. Their Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite as its bright, crisp, with citrus and tropical flavors. Winery Stop #14 of our Napa Valley trip last year saw us enjoying a magical cave wine tasting at Pine Ridge Vineyards, which has become one of my favorites in the area. Their wines are absolutely exquisite and mystical, even more so when you can enjoy them in their beautiful tasting room within the .75 miles of cave passaging underneath the ground. Located on the Silverado Trail not far from Baldacci Family Vineyards, Pine Ridge comprises lush hills and trees and the vineyards surrounding the main tasting house leading to the caves. Our host, Steve, was a joy to take us through the cave passageways, showcasing the various barrels of wine that were being aged. He gave us insight into the wines, the winery, and the history of the caves dating back to 1985. After about 10 to 15 minutes of walking through the caves, we reached the tasting room area that seemed like something straight out of Batman with the Batcave. Before we turned towards the private dining area in one of the caves, we had the chance to experience some glass artwork by Chihuly that the winery had purchased a while ago, and it served as the centerpiece when you first arrived at that part. The wines that Steve curated were terrific and told a story. We enjoyed a 2019 Carneros Merlot, 2019 Epitome Cab, 2019 Knollside Cab (which was one of my highlights), 2019 Stag's Leap District Cab, and a 2019 Circle Hill Cab (which was an appropriate way to conclude the tasting due to its bold and big flavors on the palate). Furthermore, Steve opened up a 2003 Fortis, which was astonishing. The latter was like having a chicken stir fry -- savory, soy sauce, and teriyaki for notes; just a stunner. Steve is a pro for opening up aged bottles of wine like the 2003 Fortis. He was the best. An excellent guide who possesses an impressive knowledge of wine. Pine Ridge is fortunate and lucky to have him. Venturing through the caves at Pine Ridge with my wife was outstanding. read more

All great things start wine! Lovely grounds, from the outdoor gardens to the man made caverns. We took both a wine tour & did a wine tasting; just fabulous! Our guide & wine pourer knew the in's & out's of her place of employment; from the grapes, to the various barrels, down to the wood of the barrels. She was stellar & on point. There was wine tasting as we toured the caverns & then once we sat down we tasted more scrumptious wines. Oh and there charcuterie boards: from the aged Gouda cheese, to the fresh dried cranberries, apricots, more cheese & don't forget the crackers. Excellence all around. Our group came here for a wine tasting for a birthday and had a very good time! Their cellars and tasting room is in a cave structure attached to the building. The atmosphere was great and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our host Christopher explained a lot about how they grow the grapes, ferment them, press them, and finally barrel age them. We tried 5-6 different wines and I found all of them very good! We sat inside but they also had a good sized outdoor seating area. This winery is consistently our favorite winery in Napa Valley. Are there better ones? Maybe, but we have found something that we really like and we continue to come back. We joined their wine club about 15 years ago, and then experience the excitement of getting winds every three months or so. When we come out to Napa, we always make a point to do a tasting here. This year we did it with some friends of ours, so all four of us got to enjoy it. Our hostess was fantastic and knowledgeable, and although we did not buy any wines, because we already have them shipped to our house, we have a fantastic experience. My dad recommended this vineyard and it was my favorite one from my trip. All of the wines on the tasting list were very good, even the Chardonnay and the got even better from there. I will visit this place for sure if I make it back to Napa again. They had a beautiful and inviting tasting room with cool grape inspired mid-century modern chandeliers. A little further than Napa but really worth the extra drive. We had to get reservations here a month ahead of time and we didn't even get a great time (11:15am). The backdrop and vineyard was beautiful. Nestled up against the hill and forest, you won't find better scenery. They also have this really cool cave for the wine barrels. Not even sure if they're being used but it makes for great pictures. The server was really knowledgeable not just about wine but the actual oak from the barrels. I read in another review that Caroline was not a good guide, well, we had her and she was fantastic, knowledgeable and took wonderful care of us. We had a group of about 40 and had reserved the winery for the evening. They greeted us with 2 kinds of wine as we got off the bus, as mentioned, I don't drink and was disappointed that they did not offer grape juice, but they did give us water. Carolyn took us on an educational tour showing how the grapes are grown and turned into wine. We then went in the caves "cellars" where we had our spectacular dinner!1. The staff are super friendly and our wine professional (?) was very informative and taught us two newbies about wine! I believe his name is Christopher?! It was a very personable and quaint experience--totally recommend for first timers! They have an estate tasting menu that consists of one Chardonnay and four Cabernet Sauvignons. We also had a couple glasses of their bubbly, Sparkling Chenin Blanc+Viognier, and a taste of their Cab Franc--the king of Cabs. We ... went home with a bottle of bubbly and two bottles of cab... . We had such a wonderful experience at Pine Ridge Vinyards this weekend. We booked the Cellar 47 tour, and it was truly an exclusive experience. Our host Christopher was fantastic as well, funny, approachable but also very knowledgeable. He took us through the cellars while we enjoyed the Carneros Chardonnay, and explained the different types of barrels to us. We then entered the tasting room in the cellar which was beautifully prepared. We tasted 4 Cabs, and we honestly enjoyed each one of them. I visited Pine Ridge on 07/24 during Covid times and felt super safe with the protocols they put in places. I made an appointment through their website and called to make sure they were dog friendly, which they very much are. Sometimes some places say they are, but then act like they are not. I felt super welcome here with my two pups. Upon arriving, we checked in at the front and were told to wait by a covered patio area until our host (if i remember correctly our host was Fernando) came to get us. We didn't have to wait for long until we were taken to our table, which had the wine all set up with the wine glasses all covered. The water bottle, brand new pen, and hand sanitizer were such great additions. Fernando was super knowledgeable and friendly. He made us feel welcome and made our tasting experience here great. He was very personable along with the lady at the front who loves dogs. We bought four bottles of wine to waive the tasting and also because the we liked the wines. Pine Ridge has fantastic wines and most of the ones in the tasting are not sold at supermarkets. Before leaving we took some photos near the patio area where the vineyard is. I have been to over 20 wineries during my eight visits and Pine Ridge is truly a great taste of Napa with their hospitality and great wines. read more

Heard good things about the winery so we were very excited to try it out. Booked their Cellar 47 tasting as we wanted the best experience possible. We arrived a bit late as our previous appointment went long, but still had to wait 20 minutes before we were seated. No glass to try while we waited, just had us standing around while it seemed like they were frantically preparing our table. Didn't seem prepared for us. We ended up getting seated 30 minutes later than our 3:00pm reservation. We did not have their "guided tour of our European-inspired cave system", as written on their website. Also, because we were seated late, our 90 minutes experience ended in an hour as they claimed that stopped serving wine at 4:30pm. So we did not end up getting the experience we expected. And the service seemed very rushed, as if to get us out as quickly as possible. The wines itself were okay, but at a very high price point. Definitely not on the list for a revisit. read more

My visit to Pine Ridge was fantastic! Our tasting was held inside (I believe our host's name was Chris). Our host was extremely knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us during our visit. We really enjoyed how our server would pour one drink, go into detail about what we were about to taste and hang around to let us as questions and would explain how and where the wine is made. He would then let us enjoy the tasting and later came back with the following pour (5 total from the tasting menu). Additionally, we were interested in purchasing a bottle and he even gave us a 6th pour for us to try. There was another host (female who had just returned to in person tastings) who also came to our table and was delightful. She even gave us a small redwood tree to take home that was leftover from the monthly membership boxes. After the tasting we took a little walk in the garden/ vineyard which was very pretty. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Napa to make a stop at Pine Ridge. read more
