We reserved this experience for our first day of our Napa vacation. It was a great experience and our tour guide/driver was excellent. We stopped at four different wineries and had a fantastic catered lunch at one of them. One thing to be aware of is that the tasting fees at each winery is a separate charge, so budget accordingly. I would highly recommend this as a better value than the wine train.

I was gifted this tour for my birthday and it was the best first wine tasting trip to Napa. I really like that the trolley had ample space for all the guests, the driver was very nice, and they provided water. Pros: - the trolley drives you around through beautiful Napa valley to 3 wineries and 1 restaurant for lunch - Castello di Amorosa was our first stop. Such a beautiful castle with amazing wine choices! -lunch is included with the tour with good pizza and salad Cons: - it can get very windy sitting on the outside of the trolley, so dress warm if you go during colder months -wine tasting is not included with the trolley price (there is a disclaimer) with tasting ranging from $50-$60 a person (nothing against the trolley as we already knew this going in) Overall, I highly recommend taking the tour and unique trolley ride!!

We signed up for the Napa Valley wine trolley tour as part of our cousins girls trip to celebrate my 50th birthday. Richard was our guide. He had a good sense of humor and very informative. Richard was very knowledgeable and he has lived in the area for a long time. On the day we went we had four stops which included Rutherford, Hall and Jean Edwards wineries. The lunch stop at Ottimo alone was worth the price of the excursion: wonderful housemade pastas from Bottega next door and presentation of food was mouthwatering and delicious. Food was served family style and was so good especially after our first wine tasting since we had four generous pours. They even let us take all the leftovers which was great. Argula salad, pasta, three different pizzas and gelato or sorbet. We liked the tours at each of the wineries too. By the end of the day we were all laughing and enjoying each others' company. Thanks for a great day! Note that the price of the trolley doesn't include separate tastings at each winery which varied between $20-40. You CAN opt out of tasting and still enjoy the individual winery tour as well. If you purchase wine they waive your tasting fee.

The Napa Valley Wine Trolley was a great experience for my girlfriend and me during our vacation in Napa. The driver, Michael, took very good care of us all day. Although the actual wineries you visit will vary from trip to trip, ours started with a drive up the valley to Rutherford winery for tastings, followed by a delicious lunch and tasting at Bottega. Next we visited Hall winery for more tastings, and wrapped up with Jean Edwards Cellars. We enjoyed some great wines and met some new friends along the way. The July weather was fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of the tour.

This was a great tour! Brian was our tour guide and he did not disappoint. He was a funny dude and provided a ton of wine facts. He guided are large group efficiently and even gave a lot of other recommendations for our stay. I was pretty buzzed from the tastings, but Brian made sure we were good and handed out waters at the end of each tasting. FYI, this is an open air trolley so bring a jacket because it was pretty cold in the morning.

Amazing Mother's Day get away! I booked this tour for myself, my mom and my two cousins and we had a BLAST! This was my second time doing this tour (last time was in 2016) and the tour was just as fantastic as before. I love how diverse the wineries were: Castello di Amorosa was very romantic and baroque, Raymond winery was very eclectic, fun and hip, and the final winery was very intimate and specialized. Our guide was excellent, service at each winery was top notch and the crowd we were with was so friendly - we all became one big family by the end of our experience!! Super fun time! A MUST do when you are in Napa!

The trolley tour was fun. However, the tour was extremely repetitive. We heard where Danielle Steels house and the Parent Trap house was like numerous times. I think it would have been better if they played music for more than the last 20 minutes of the tour. I'd recommend this if it was your first time in Napa.

My friends and I had a great day on the Napa Valley Wine Trolley with Brian as our tour guide! Brian really made the trip so much fun. He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great tips on places to eat and visit. We visited Castello di Amorosa, Raymond Winery and Backstage. They were all very unique and fun to see. Lunch was great and nice to have a part of the trip. It's a really nice way to relax and take in the beautiful sights of Napa. We were also the first to get picked up and the last to get dropped off which had some nice perks (i.e. sit up front for great views and less wind and you get to be the DJ on the ride home). Thanks again Brian for a great day! Come visit us on the East Coast!

I booked the classic experience for 3 of my gfs on Friday 12/1 for a bday surprise unit unfortunately the morning of the bday couldn't attend so me and my gf decided to still go. We arrived at the wine trolley location at 9:55am and the trolley was there ready to go. Our tour driver Orion was extremely chill and friendly. He gave us a brief history but after the first stop we got to utilize the aux cord and it was a vibe all day. We went to 3 wineries total and a lunch stop that also included an optional tasting. The experience was great but in my honest opinion $125 pp is a bit steep to also still have to pay tasting fees at each winery. It would be more lucrative in my opinion for the consumer to either have significant discount or tasting fee waved. Also the last stop we went to, i felt i was being lectured and the gentlemen told us to shush multiple times.... Read the room sir we've been drinking all day! Anyways outside of that experience it was great. For lunch we went to an Italian spot that served us pizza salad and pasta. I would have rated this 10/10 but they had us all share one pie between 8/9 ppl which i thought was strange. So they gave us 3 pies total but it was shared between us so it would have made more sense for 2 pies per pizza ( Margherita, meat and mushroom) per table vs 1 of each for the amount of ppl per table. Other than the price point and having to ask for additional pizzas it was a great experience!

We stoped at four places. One beautiful vineyar with spectacular views, a food terrace and wine tasting area, a winery and makery, and another wine tasting bar. Wine tasting fees are addl around $35-40 per person. Our last winery visited Paul helped us to get TSA approved shipping boxes which wine got home safely! Since we were coming in from out of town, we even arranged to meet with the owner beforehand to drop off drinks and goodies for the trolley--it was such a personal and thoughtful touch to be able to connect in that way. The day of the wedding went PERFECTLY. The drivers were amazing--fun, professional, and kept the energy going as we had our cocktail hour rolling through the city. When we decided to visit San Francisco, I knew I wanted to do some kind of tour. I researched a…read morebunch of options and even considered one of the hop-on, hop-off buses, but then I came across the Painted Ladies Tour. I watched several videos, read reviews, and quickly realized this was a completely different kind of tour. The tour takes place in a vintage VW van that looks like something straight out of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine. Honestly, even the vehicle itself makes the experience fun! It's also a much more intimate experience than a large bus tour, which was exactly what I was looking for. It ended up being one of our absolute favorite things we did in San Francisco. Our guide, Clay, met us just a couple of blocks from our hotel, which was another huge bonus. We didn't have to take any additional public transportation to get to the tour. It was my daughter and me, another mother and daughter, and their aunt, so we had a really small group. Clay made sure we rotated seats throughout the tour so everyone got a different perspective and everyone had a chance to sit up front for the best views. One of the first things Clay did was explain what actually makes a "Painted Lady" a Painted Lady. We got to see so many examples throughout the city, and one of our favorites was the Four Seasons. It was really interesting learning the history behind the homes rather than just driving past them and taking pictures. We drove through the Haight-Ashbury area, where Clay explained how housing costs and the population have changed over the years. We even saw the iconic home with the legs sticking out of one of the windows, which is a pretty funny representation of just how packed some of the homes became. We also got to see the former homes of Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix. Being able to see those places in person and hear the history behind them was really cool. Our first stop where we actually got out of the van was Alamo Square Park, where the iconic Full House opening scene was filmed. This was probably the number one thing my daughter wanted to see, so she was thrilled! We got out, took pictures, and Clay was kind enough to take pictures of both of us together so neither of us had to be the person left out of the photos. Next, we drove by the house from Mrs. Doubtfire. Clay actually happened to see them filming part of the movie when he was younger, which made the stop even more interesting. Then came another major highlight for my daughter--we got to see the school from The Princess Diaries! From there, we headed to the Palace of Fine Arts, where we learned about its connection to the World's Fair. We stopped to take pictures, and I have to mention one of my favorite random moments of the entire tour: seeing a Golden Retriever riding in a convertible, absolutely living his best life. It was one of those completely unexpected San Francisco moments that made the day even better. Since we were already in the area, we also stopped to take pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. But the absolute highlight of the tour came next. Clay took us to Lombard Street, turned the music way up, blasted "Born to Be Wild," and let us cruise down the famous winding street with the windows down. We were all singing along, laughing, and taking in the experience. It was honestly one of the most iconic and memorable moments of our entire San Francisco trip. The tour was also perfectly timed. We spent the morning seeing so much of the city, but we were finished early enough to walk back to our hotel, have some downtime, and regroup before lunch. We never felt rushed, but we also didn't lose an entire day to the tour. I would absolutely recommend the Painted Ladies Tour to anyone visiting San Francisco. It's such a fun and personal way to see the city and learn about its history. Instead of sitting on a huge bus with dozens of other people, you're in a small group, getting to interact with your guide and really experience the city. And Clay was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, personable, and made the history fun for both the adults and the kids in our group. He took pictures for us, made sure everyone got a chance to experience the best seats, and really made the entire morning feel special. If you're looking for something more personal than a traditional sightseeing bus, I can't recommend this tour enough. Between the Mystery Machine-style van, the history, the movie locations, the Golden Gate Bridge, and singing "Born to Be Wild" down Lombard Street, this was easily one of our favorite memories from San Francisco.

After picking everyone up, our group went to Saddleback Cellars. This was a great vineyard to visit - we were seated right next to the beautiful fields and enjoyed sipping our wine while walking right next to the growing grapes! The lady working there was friendly and it was really nice learning more about the history of their vineyard. They've won several awards, and we could see why! These were some delicious wines. Some tours have been truly exceptional, while others have been more average. The guides have all been good, although some definitely stand out more than others. Ultimately, though, the biggest factor in the experience is the wineries you visit and how generous they are with their pours. You'll quickly learn what a "revisit" means on these tours. Most wineries are happy to pour you another taste, but some are surprisingly stingy and seem more interested in selling bottles than providing a memorable tasting experience. Some will happily pour their most expensive wines, while others will talk about those wines without actually letting you taste them unless you're willing to buy a bottle. Honestly, that's disappointing, especially when you're there to experience and learn about the wine. That said, Platypus itself is fantastic. The shuttles are spacious, the groups are small, and the overall experience is a great way to explore wine country without the hassle of driving between wineries. My biggest recommendation: tell your tour guide upfront that you want fun, welcoming wineries that are generous with their pours. The right winery selection can take an already good tour and make it an outstanding one. We'll absolutely consider booking with Platypus again!
