The food was good but the wait was insane. I didn't get a basket of bread or a glass of water for 30 minutes. It took nearly 20 minutes for me to even have a waiter take my order. When I got the bread it took another 20 minutes to get my food. I have been in the restaurant for 1.5 hours and have barely eaten. 1300 Taberna is located in a fun part of the city surrounded by bookshops, bars, restaurants, and other fun places to walk around. This restaurant was an old factory that was converted into a modern restaurant. We really enjoyed just looking around at the decor, clocks adorning the walls, and the style. Despite providing a great ambiance, friendly staff, and great food, the restaurant was not overcrowded. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and casual and provided us with great recommendations for dishes and wine. The food was very good, well-portioned, and very reasonably priced for the quality. This was certainly a treat and we appreciated the service, delicious food, and reasonable prices. Per some of the earlier reviews, this restaurant provided Michelin-quality service and food and it may be only a matter of time before it gets the recognition that it deserves. read more

I absolutely agree with the other reviews suggesting that this be Michelin rated. I did the chefs tasting menu, and it was fantastic! They offered 6 courses with wine pairings and offered a cocktail with the local bread as a starter. The best course I think was the skate wing, which was savory and buttery and cooked just right. The oysters were also very good and inspired me to search for them the next night. As someone who enjoys baking myself I was extremely impressed with the bread they make with honey, brown sugar and milk, and I 100% wish I could get it locally. The atmosphere is chic and it is well decorated and the service is fantastic . Overall I think this was my favorite meal in Lisbon and I would absolutely return. Please not that this is in the Lx factory, and that the location on Yelp is incorrect. It is 1 block down the street from where they list it. read more

Not a great place. The cocktails were good though. Service was horrible... Saw many people just get up and leave after being ignored for ages. I ordered the pork with rice. The rice was good but pork was completely bland and super dry. At the end, the server asked me how it was and I told him... He just shrugged and said "ok". read more

I wish I could give this restaurant five stars but unfortunately the service didn't match the exceptional food. Our waiter was as attentive as he could be given that he was trying to take care of the entire restaurant. There simply wasn't enough manpower. That said, everything else was sublime. I could tell the moment I walked in that I loved the vibe of the restaurant. It was just what we were looking for in the LX Factory area and it had come highly recommended from a local. We had by far our best meal in Lisbon at 1300Taberna (which is saying something, because the food has been fantastic). Located in the hip LXFactory, the inside is spacious, modern, and inviting. The menu is extensive, and they even have a tasting menu for a very reasonable price. Because we weren't super hungry, we decided not to go for it. Everything we got was still delicious, though, and we left very full. For a starter, I definitely recommend the octopus with sweet potato as a starter - the tender octopus and sweet potato puree complimented each other perfectly! Our main dishes were also both excellent. My husband got the fish of the day, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I got the grilled turbot, served with a flavorful barley couscous. We ended the dinner with a snickers-flavored cake, which was quite good. If I ever find myself back in Lisbon, I will definitely come back to 1300Taberna. read more

Awesome food, friendly service. Loved the truffle mushroom pasta. Had to come back for second dinner on the last night for the trip because it was too good. But the pasta dish was no longer on the menu. They were very nice and accommodating and offered me the same truffle mushroom pasta. Will be back in the future. read more

3.5 stars This place was pretty good but kind of overpriced, especially the mains which can be like 23 Euro. The rice that came with the fish of the day tasted too much like lemon. The bread, soup, negreiros wine, and Eusebio dessert were good. The black pig is good if they cook it correctly, but it was dangerously rare for one of the people at our table and needed to be sent back. Service is slow and seems to give preference to Portuguese customers over foreigners. read more

Worth the trip!!! Don't let the location scare you! It's a quick tram ride away or better yet, a cheap uber ride away from the downtown area. This little gem was phenomenal and I'm so happy we came across it! Every dish was so impeccable and it's obvious how much thought and passion went into it all. Ignore the comments on slow service. Yes, it's slow by American standards but you'll be having more than a dinner here; it's truly an experience. Oh, and the price...Incredible deal! Multi-course with wine pairings for about 50 euros. Good restaurant in the renovated industrial area. Very trendy at the moment. The whole design here is very likable. Modern mixed with old. Lots of red bricks, and you see pipes and such. Looks well in my opinion. We had a cocktail dinner, the food was very good. Drinks were served fast with good mixing proportions. Staff was very friendly. We were in a large group and were dealt with in a professional matter. Definitely worth to go, especially if you like that kind of architecture. read more

Went here because of previous ratings. The LX Factory area is awesome with lots of stuff to try. 1300 Taberna is good, but not amazing. I received very good service - faster and more efficient than any other place in Lisbon. I ordered the catch of the day (sea bass) over a tomato sauce rice dish. The skin was cooked perfectly - though we generally don't eat the skin in US restaurants. But the fish was fairly mediocre in flavor and the tomato wasn't anything to write home about. The wine was delicious and I couldn't keep my hands off the bread. Great location and venue. Would still go here again and try something else. My only concern is that this neighborhood appeals to tourists - the prices are a little higher though not terrible. And there are still local people here. read more

This is one of 3 excellent restaurant experience so far in a week in Lisbon. The food is excellent--about the same high level of quality as Quermesse on rua do Gloria and at Cantinho do Avillez. I had a riff on bacalhau that was creative and delicious and we had a fantastic chocolate dessert. (There is also an outpost of the fantastic chocolate company Landreau in the complex.) The quality in both places is very high for Lisbon but not at the level of a Michelin star. The big advantage of 1300 Taberna for us was the location and atmosphere. It is in a totally delightful reconstructed factory complex called "Factory LX" that has a lot of fun restaurants, artisans and shops. The decor in 1300 Taberna is very creative and the staff is young, dedicated and extremely good at what they do. Your average tourist might find it challenging to find Factory LX but it is worth it. It is easy to get there by taxi or by any of the trams or buses that stop at Calvario. I use 5 stars only for the Michelin star level restaurants so 4 stars is a very appreciative review for me. read more

Came here last week while in Lisbon on Vacation. Would def recommend if you are going to LX Factory for dinner. Great Decor and great menu and wine selection. Def a place to be seen. However, I thought execution of the dishes could have been better, although our meal was very nice, I expected just a little more flavor on some of the dishes. I ordered the dry aged steak which underwhelmed for the price tag. Service was overall good, but our waiter was definitely treating us worse than other patrons, probably based on the way we were dressed. And I never complain about service, I understand it's a difficult job but we could feel like we were being disrespected. The other employees we interacted with were great and friendly so I won't hold it against the restaurant. read more
