This place is great! I have always had great service. I'm not sure what is wrong with the other reviewers other than that their crappy racist attitude is rubbing the employees the wrong way. Honestly Maren S.how much do you expect out of a $10 pedicure? You will get the same kindness, respect and fair treatment that you give in life. Shop is clean and cute pedicures are great and they fix days later for free if you are as clumsy as me and stub your toe. People who go here and are not happy would not be happy anywhere. I've visited many different nail salons - good and bad, but this one has to be the worst. My husband and I walked in for pedicures and were asked to come back in thirty minutes. That was fine. But when we came back in twenty minutes later after walking around for a bit to wait in the salon, we see they have already accepted two other people for pedicures and there are, again, no spots available. I ask the lady (she seemed to be the owner or manager), how much longer it will be and she said only a minute or so. Another twenty minutes pass. She finally asks what kind of pedi we want (there are apparently 3 kinds) and we pick the "Elite" which is supposed to include a "15 minute foot and calf massage" in one of those leg massage chairs and the other typical parts of a pedi (grooming, exfoliating, painting). As we are getting seated she jokes about how It was "perfect timing" that we would come in right after the other two ladies before us showed up. Uhh... Then why did we have to wait an additional 20 minutes after the initial 30 minutes we were asked to wait? Anyway, the pedicure itseld started off well, with the same lady soaking my feet in the warm water and grooming my toes. That's when she receives and phone call and doesn't return for a few minutes. She comes back and starts to quickly clip my toenails. Too quickly. At this point I am clenching my teeth because I feel the clippers grazing my skin and tearing off a little too much for comfort. She receives another phone call. Comes back and noticeably has little patience in the task of finishing my pedicure. She finally finishes my nails and asks us to pay. Confused because neither of us received our 15 minute massages, I ask her about it as my husband pays her. She tells me they no longer provide that service because too many people complained the massage chair hurts too much. So then my question is, why do you still advertise the service under your "Elite Pedicure" on both your website and in your store?! When I told her that I wouldn't have picked that pedicure if I knew better she simply told me she was sorry, but there is nothing she can do and told us to have a nice day. My daughter and I booked appointments but had to wait about 40 minutes to get service. My manicurist was not friendly at all, kept leaving me to wipe down counters and sweep. She seemed in such a hurry to get us moved out of our chairs even though we were at that point the only two people in the building. They don't give massages which is one of my favorite parts of a manicure. My gel nails have started to chip after four days. I've never had a gel manicure chip, ever. I was really disappointed. My friend and I heard about the Mother's Day brunch, mimosas and nails and thought it would be great to pamper ourselves. They took reservations only, so this reassured us that we wouldn't have to contend with crowds much. I don't know WHAT happened...if they shortened each person's time block to add more people or what, but people were lined up and unhappy. One of the gals was yelling to get people out of the salon chairs because of the line up. My friend's toes weren't even done yet and she was moved to a chair where she had to crouch in her dress on the chair to have someone finish up. The guy doing my toes was whisked away while she finished my toes...and the lines were uneven and I have globs of thick polish at the ends of my toes. She hurried me out of the seat "because we need the chair for someone else" and put me in the waiting area. She came over a bit later to finish the top coat...didn't let it dry so it smeared everywhere when she put on my shoes. She said she hoped this experience wouldn't dissuade me from coming in on a normal day because service wasn't up to par on Mother's Day. hm. So I paid $35 for admittedly crappy service? If they'd have played their cards right, they would have extended each person's service for some REAL pampering and charged a little extra. Man, I will not be back. Sorry. read more

Terrible!!! Been here twice and both experiences were awful. Issue? Person working on nails ran cashier, supervised others, greeted and seated walk-ins, finished other nail appts while working on me. They prefer appts but then make you wait, nail color options are about 1/10th of other places, and overall, the customer service is far from giving any customer any level of service. Not impressed. My friend and I were wooed by the drinks and the fact that they are open on Sunday and decided to give it a try. We ordered drinks first and sat at the very nice bar. We ordered malted martinis which we were told were martinis served with fresh fruit. We were served drinks made with Mike's Hard Lemonade (very upsetting to me as I don't drink carbonation) and coffee syrups. Not one bit of fruit. While we sipped our beverages someone getting a pedi ordered a latte and the bartender asked me several times how to make one. I felt very bad for that customer as I watched her choke down her latte. On to the nails. The technician filed my nails so quickly that they burned and brought tears to my eyes. When I asked her to stop her response was that she was almost done and I must not get my nails done very often (I am guessing that 15 years of satisfied service elsewhere doesn't count). She slapped the acrylic on, barely filed my nails and I was done in 5 minutes. Wam. Bam. Next I had an express pedicure which I didn't expect to be much and it wasn't. 2 days later and all of the polish has come off my toes. That has never happened before. In fact, I can usually never get the polish off my toes. Although the pedi and the fill barely took any time at all, we were there for hours waiting and waiting and waiting. We were there for four hours and we're worked on for less than 30 minutes by the techs. To end our otherwise horrible experience, we both received the exact same services and ordered the same drink and we're charged two different prices. Although my total was cheaper than hers, I was told that mine included a $2.50 processing fee for using my debit card. Pah-leeze! I kind of felt guilty for wandering away from the place I have been going to for 15 years and I will tell you they instantly won my loyalty renewed!! I should also mention that there was a girl getting a pedicure for the prom who was asking about getting acrylic nails, and they convinced her not to!!!!! read more

I love that they had a bar here. My mom was in town visiting and I wanted to bring her somewhere to get pedicures while shopping in Fairhaven. I had a great leg/ foot massage from the gal that did my pedicure. I wish she had spent more time on my toe nails, but my feet felt so soft and my leg muscles relaxed. WORST. SERVICE. EVER!! My friend and I went in yesterday as walk-ins and of course I asked if they could fit us in and the MANAGER said yes. First off you can't make small talk with these guys and NO it's not because they don't speak the language, they are both native to the US, it's that they would rather ignore you or respond with one word answers. I had requested a manicure pedicure and my friend a manicure. The gentleman there who was doing my pedicure butchered my nails cutting them unevenly and would jam the clippers into the sides of my toes. And for both my friend and I getting the manicures they turned out poorly. When she (the manager) was clipping my cuticles she would yank the clippers away without fully cutting my cuticles so they are now all jagged and split and the nail polish didn't even cover the whole nail on most of my fingers.. I will have to go to Jimmy's to have them re-done. I'll never go to this place again. read more

I would not recommend going to this place, definitely try to find another place to get a pedicure. I found the staff to be very rude, especially when they found it appropriate to complain about you while giving you a pedicure. Also, they are not consistent in the service they provide. I went with two other family members and both of them had ten to fifteen minute pedicures (the upgraded ones), while mine took a half an hour. When cleaning the foot soaking tubs I did not notice them using any sort of disinfectant. Overall, I was extremely unhappy with the service and the cleanliness of the place. read more

I don't normally post things like this but feel I should probably warn people about this. I have gotten my nails done at 13 Nails & Spa in Fairhaven about 4 times now. I have gotten acrylic nails off and on for over 15 years, hundreds of times! I have never, ever had anything like this happen to me. When removing my acrylics to give me a new set the nail technician, who is also the owner, was so rough in taking them off that she tore through my REAL nail on four different fingers. The finger in these pictures was the worst. It tore so badly & deeply that my nail bled. It was painful for weeks. While I was on vacation it got infected so badly that the entire tip of my finger became swollen and hurt SOOO bad from the pressure the infection was creating. She had put an acrylic nail on over the damage when she did my nails telling me it would be fine. It wasn't! I had to soak my finger in acetone to get the acrylic nail off, which hurt SO bad because of the infection. Once it came off, well lets just say the infection that I release was SOOOO disgusting!!!! SO GROSS and so painful!! When I got back from vacation I went back in to show her, hoping she would show some sort of remorse. All she said was "oh, owie". Not only did I suffer great nail damage and nail bed damage & pain but the customer service I received was an "oh, owie". Three other nails, you can see if you look closely are damaged on this hand. I attempted to communicate with the owner about how upset I was that she said "oh, owie" and all she said was that she would be out of business if she tried to make every unhappy customer happy. I was hoping, at the very least, she wouldn't have charged me for a fill or something! Just please be ware!!! I also know people who have had their toe nails damaged after pedicures at this salon too! Their tools are not as clean as they should be and they are EXTREMELY rough with your toe nails & feet. Again, I never like to complain about businesses or write posts like this but I felt strongly enough about the damage this caused me and the poor customer service I received that I wanted to share. Here is how the owner responded! : 13 Nails & Spa Dear Amber I feel so sorry that you lived your life as you are. And I hope that since you are like you are saying that you own "a business" that your customer don't do this to you. Have a good life P.S. if you don't want to take the chance of getting your nails damage, my advise is you should not go to places and have people put the fake stuff on. Great service and so friendly! Plus they have a bar... Who doesn't like a good mani pedi with a couple glasses of champagne :)

Though from the reviews it seems that the quality of work may be inconsistent, I had an excellent experience at this spot. Reasonably priced pedicures are offered in clean surroundings. I don't expect lively conversation, just careful, skilled work and I certainly got that. Base coat, generous polish application and top coat after painless cutting and filing - I was well pleased. I went to this salon today with my daughter for pedicures. Hers was fine so two stars, mine was the worst I have I have ever had anywhere!!! Girl was more interested in trying to get her music to play from her phone than my feet. She didn't cut my nails until I told her there needed to be trimmed, then didn't round the corners or smooth. Spent no time removing callous or dead cuticles. The topper was when another lady came over and put my sandals on me when my polish was still wet , I could feel polish sticking to my sandals and she kept telling me everything ok. NO it wasn't when I got home and took my sandals off I found 4 nails without polish, and polish inside of my sandals!!! I will NEVER return read more

I came her to take my sister to get a mani/pedi for her birthday. We were really impressed with how cute and clean it is. We were not impressed with the owner and one of her workers. They got in to an argument and I had the girl who got in to the fight with the owner doing my nails. She did a terrible job and it's so sad to think I paid full price for something I could have done in five seconds on my own. She refused to cut my nails like I asked her to and dealt with me very aggressively. She later apologized that she was very mad but not on me, as she could tell she we taking her aggression out on my hands. I was very uncomfortable. She later went to the back screaming and crying all while the owner of the salon vanished to get lunch with one of her clients..... I have seriously never felt so uncomfortable. She promised with the new gel manicure it would last for weeks but because the lady painted it right on my my skin it started peeling within a couple days. Hands down the worst manicure/experience I've had and it was on my sisters birthday. I later called to talk to the manager she said she was busy with a customer and asked me to drive in I said I lived far away so she took my number and never called me back.... I've heard such great things about this salon but I unfortunately will never be going back, even if they offered me a free manicure. read more

Nice appearing shop, good price point and great massage chairs. My pedicure held up quite well. Also great foot massage with pedicure. However, shop is very noisy and rushed feeling, with minimal customer interaction. Staff more interested in talking to each other than in customer service, and are too load when doing so. When I get a message I want a serene atmosphere...this is definitely not the spa for that! read more

I was very disappointed. I brought my own product because that is what I like to use. I gave the woman doing my pedicure the base coat (which looks like a makeup foundation) and she proceeded to argue with me that it was not a base coat (and, it says base coat on the bottle.). After going back and forth with her for five minutes (yes, she actually kept arguing with me that it is not a base coat(but, even if it wasn't, isn't it my choice what I want to use??). Okay, she proceeds on my pedicure and then cuts my toe. Yes, that was an accident, BUT instead of saying she's sorry, she says, "That's not too bad". Bad or not (it didn't stop bleeding until well after I got home), but that wasn't the issue. When you do something like that you apologize! No manners what so ever! This place was just a lot of show and no substance. They were rough cutting my cuticles, did not really shape my nails nor did they clean them, and put on only one coat of color so it doesn't look even. The pedicure was okay, the massage chairs however are terribly uncomfortable. Actually, I shouldn't say it was okay because it didn't last ten feet outside the door of the salon. And for all this I paid $10 more than I would at other salons. Will never be coming back here. read more

I was disappointed, to say the least, after my 12 minute pedicure at 13 Nails & Spa. I showed up 5 minutes late to an appointment, which I heard about from my nail technician five times during my pedicure. Last I knew, it's not great business etiquette to complain about your customers in front of them. Also, the nail technician complained that I had asked to pay extra to be upgraded to one of the nicer pedicure chairs. Aside from all the complaining I heard about my being late and paying extra to upgrade my pedicure, the pedicure itself was incredibly short and most unpleasant. My cuticles were scraped off, my nails chopped and the massage was more of a scratch - that lasted a minute. During this short pedicure process I felt I was inconveniencing the lady doing my nails - and I almost wanted to reach down and help her out to speed up the process. I know I could go on, but the bottom line is: find ANY other place in Bellingham for spa services for a more enjoyable (and more sanitary) experience. read more

WORST PLACE EVER!!! Talk about a horrible experience. The staff was late arriving to even open the doors, even though we had 10 am appointments. Don't run a business if you can't get up on time. The guy was aloof, had the personality of a goldfish, and was lazy. The asian woman decided folding towels was more important than doing the service we paid for. Had multiple people working on our nails, if they were even working on them. The asian woman decided the walk ins were more important than our pre arranged appointments. She did a wax, and another woman's nails while my friend sat in the chair for 40 minutes. They lied about their alcohol selection and gave us a cavity in a glass!!!! (don't advertise beer, wine and champagne if all yo have is a malt liquor license that doesn't exist.) Second, if a person voices their complaint and with reason you should apologize for the lack of performance and not make up excuses, lie, or get angry with a customer. ALL OF OUR NAILS WERE RUINED WITHIN AN HOUR. It took 2 hours to do 4 peoples nails!!! WE PAID $210 dollars for 4 pedicures, 3 manicures and 4 really bad drinks. (go to bartending school if you plan on mixing cocktails). This establishment is suffering in performance and skills. Don't heat your parafin wax up in the microwave, and don't insult your staff in front of guests. RUDE!! There were 2 really nice ladies working there that I felt incredibly bad for. If I had to deal with that management on a daily basis I'd rather die. HORRIBLE!!! read more

i have to say is that this was the best place that i could have chosen to take my wife and kids, an all in one treat. wife got her nails done the girls got their hair done and i enjoyed a brew at the bar and watched the canuks play. prices were excellent, service was great, people were amazing.
