I've been here 4 times for pedicures, all were great! Each time I was with 1-2 people in my party (we had an appointment), and we were seated together, finished around the same time, and never felt rushed. They have a bar and will take good care of you. I recommend the mimosas! This last weekend I made an appointment for a gel manicure, and I wasn't disappointed! This was my first manicure there. I didn't get the gal's name, but she was efficient and shaped my nails perfectly! My last manicure at a different place left me unsatisfied, as I had to file my nails later myself, as the other person had left jagged edges! I used to love this place, but it's gone downhill. I went two weeks ago to get a pedicure and the guy that did my nails was literally falling asleep while doing them. I kept shaking my foot to wake him up. And he nicked me several times but I didn't realize how badly until a couple days later when my toes were still stinging. Not to mention two weeks later my nails don't look very good, which is what prompted me to write this review. They were cut uneven, not filed. Just done poorly all around. I said something about my experience and was still charged the full amount. This place used to be a really nice place to go, but honestly the last few times I've been disappointed. I've had okay experiences here and they have half off drinks on Fridays, but I just witnessed a girl sit and wait for 1 hour and 30 minutes after her scheduled appointment time while every other patron was helped and another lady was on lunch. It definitely had prejudice undertones and was really awkward for everyone involved and then they told the girl that "it was okay" like she needed to be forgiven when she eventually walked out. I purchased several gift certificates for spa manicures from 13 Nails. When I attempted to use one of them, they refused saying it is expired. Since I know that it is illegal to 'expire' a gift certificate in this state I told them that and again requested they honor the certificate. The worker again refused and asked me to speak to the owner over the phone. The owner repeated that it was expired and that I must pay cash. I did so, but went home and filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's Office. The AG's office responded to my complaint saying it is, indeed, illegal to claim a gift certificate is expired. The AG's office sent 2 letters to 13 Nails. 13 Nails has not responded. I will not return after this dishonest interaction. read more

The pedicure was just ok. I didn't know there were multiple "levels" of pedicures you could ask for, and was just given the spa pedicure. It's supposed to include exfoliation, but they did not exfoliate my feet-just massage, nail trim and paint. My feet didn't feel smooth like they normally do after a pedicure. Booked an appt for a pedicure last November, only my second in my lifetime so not really sure what to ask for. Got called asking if I could come in earlier which worked great. They were just finishing up with their one customer and started with me. When asked if I wanted to add a manicure, I said yes. She explained one type took a while and the other was faster; I assured her I had plenty of time as I wanted it to stay on like my first one. Well, I barely got started when a walk-in came in. The woman was so busy trying to attend to both of us that I felt like I got the short-end of the stick when I was the one with the appointment. She quickly painted my toes and fingers, then repainted before it was all dry. I didn't even get the foot/calf massage which I was told by a friend was wonderful (I work 12 hr days on my feet). She put me under the air for a while so she could focus on the walk-in. I held my fingers over the blower for a while until she said I could go, but to be careful. I was careful despite them starting off a little wrinkled. However, one nail's polish peeled off completely within the hour. The others looked pretty rough so I just peeled most off in large pieces to try to match them again (which only served to look less horrible b/c I didn't have any acetone with me). My heels were still quite rough as well despite the grater (my first pedicure in Juneau got them so smooth and lasted so long). Unfortunate, because my friend gave such a glowing review that just didn't live up to the expectation. Perhaps an off or really slow day, so take it with a grain of salt, but I won't return. read more

I was looking for a cute place to take my mom for our annual Mother's Day mani/pedi's, and found this lovely salon in downtown Fair Haven. This place is really professional and visually appealing, inside and out, with a fun bar/lounge area in the back. Loved this place initially! The mani/pedi's themselves, however, were by far one of the worst I've gotten. While the girls working on us were quick and efficient, I wish they would have spent a little more time and effort to make our experience more positive. Something that should have been relaxing and enjoyable turned out to be extremely rushed and subpar. Along with this underwhelming service, my and my mom's manicures chipped within the first day. Went in with high hopes knowing that i would be paying more than average for a gel acrylic set, and left with probably the worst set i have ever received. I was the only customer in the store during my fill, which makes sense in hindsight, and here's a brief list of why it was so bad: 1. The lady doing my nails constantly hit my skin with the mechanic filer 2. I pointed out flaws in the nails and they decided not to fix them 3. When my nails were painted the sides of the nail were missed 4. went back after leaving for about 2 min. when i noticed my nails looked like trash. paint on the sides of my fingers, chips/ hang offs on the side of the nails (which cut my arm when i touched it) 5. when I went back to get it fixed (because i didn't just pay 40$ for my nails to look worse than they did going in...) the lights were off (during business hours), and they rushed me to the back of the room and HAND FILED MY NAILS WHERE PEOPLE EAT/DRINK and rushed me out the door. **with the hand filing all the paint on the side of my nail was removed my experience was embarrassing. read more

This place is awesome! They accept walk-ins or appointments, appointments are preferred. I made one the day before for a spa pedicure. It was $25 for full nail and cuticle grooming, an exfoliated scrub calf massage, a hot towels on calves while your toes are being painted. The massage chairs are serious with some actual deep tissue massaging. The location is adorable and so well decorated, and everything smells so good and is so clean. I will be returning for a deluxe pedicure that includes a hot stone massage and paraffin dip for $35. I'm not 21 so I could partake in the other part of this salon that is a bar. They have wine and beer, and sodas for non-alcohol options. The staff is super nice and so good at what they do. I will be returning and highly recommend this to anyone who wants an inexpensive way to treat yourself! read more

My kid and I were in Bellingham for the day and we both were in the market for manicures, so we happily stumbled into this nail salon, located at the retail end of Harris Ave, We were both impressed by how cute and clean this place was, and we were warmly greeted by the lady at the front of the salon. I liked how there were 4 lady customers in pedicure massage chairs, laughing and chatting - with champagne flutes in hand!!!! There were alcoholic drinks here, to be had with one's pedicure! I was SOLD! We received lovely manicures here. The hand massage was a little brief and perfunctory, but we loved how they put a hot towel around our hands (felt amazingly good!), and they polished our nails very nicely. I watched with envy other techs giving pedicures to the ladies in the massage chairs. Wow, I HAVE to return to get this done! Looked like an awesome exfoliation with massage, then a "facial" mask was applied to the legs (knee down) and let dry, then hot and moist towels were wrapped around the legs while the toenails were tended to. All the while, the ladies were sipping either champagne or mimosas out of flutes. Did I mention I was jealous as all get-out??? (I hadn't the time for a pedicure today, nor was I dressed appropriately for one). Next time, for sure! My daughter had her eyebrows waxed here as well. It was not done in a private room setting, and the lady tech who did it took the liberty of taking a LOT of eyebrow hair off without asking (both big negatives); HOWEVER, after the fact, my kid and I got used to the new look and we agreed, it looks a lot better than it did before. (Just wish the tech would have asked first, or prepared us in advance). This is a fun place and will be a place we return to whenever we re-visit Bellingham. read more

Tiffany is shady .They ripped my acrylic nails off with a new acrylic nail and a cuticle clipper?? Made me bleed and kept getting shards in both our eyes. I told her it was hurting me and she didn't listen . I asked for her to soak them off instead of using a new acrylic nail and some cuticle clippers.. She didn't listen. She kept going and i had to leave and reschedule with the owner herself. Left with 7 out of the 10 nails removed and was charged $10.. I then came back and had to pay full price to fix it... AFTER the OWNER said it would be on the house (new gel shellac and to remove the last 3 nails) Came back again with business, invited a friend to try the salon. And I was asked to pay before adding polish.... I'd came several times. Brought in business. And was treated inappropriately. And unprofessionally. Like I was a thief? I had never been asked that before until after I complained about how My previous bad experience was .Staff is blantantly rude. spa is lacking basic technique, skill and company moral. Tiffany/ owner even dropped my phone and it may have been an accident... but she just looked back at it and laughed instead of helping me pick it up with my wet nails or even apologizing.?? read more

I hate to leave a low review but my experience here was really unacceptable. The person who was doing my pedicure injured my toe and didn't stop when I told her it was hurting. I left bleeding and several hours later I'm still in pain. One of the people who worked on my pedicure worked on multiple clients at the same time since they were very rushed and hectic, and they did not change gloves in between clients even though they were touching our feet and in my case my blood. I also realized that I was overcharged for a more expensive deluxe pedicure which I did not get. The manicure I got was also pretty sloppy and rushed and I had to fix it when I got home, but that seems like small potatoes compared to the injury and hygiene issues. The whole experience was so upsetting and I strongly recommend going somewhere else. read more

I went here on a whim and the nail tech dug into my foot so deep and when I said that hurt she said sorry but continued to do it. I am diabetic and my toe became infected due to it. Now i'm usually a pretty understanding person, but sometimes you just rub me the wrong way. When i walked in the environment initially felt nice and welcoming. Then we sit down to start my nails and everything feels extremely rushed, like the girl had other places to be and other things to be doing. I've done acrylics before and my nails and the area around them have never felt irritated after a manicure until now. During the application i noticed one of my nails had a bump so i pointed it out, and she kinda snapped at me saying she wasn't done yet. I really wanted to like this business because I'm new in the area and in the market for *my* nail salon around Skagit Valley. I very much like the Fairhaven location. The prices are fair. The person who does my fills does nice work. The reason I won't be back even though I'm happy with the location and work is because I don't feel welcomed or appreciated as a customer. When my nails are being done I feel more like a number than a person and it's not been an enjoyable experience. Today I went in and asked if they had time for a walk-in fill. Negatives: numerous people were working on my nails (all I got was a pedicure) so none was sure what the other had done and I ended up having to ask for top coat; very disjointed experience because of this. It felt like they were trying to do too much with too few staff. I was there for a very long time so don't try to pop in on your lunch break or if you have somewhere to be. I like the idea of a mint lemonade, but maybe whole mint leaves instead of chopped; I didn't like sucking them up through my straw. Odd and tacky colored light-show in the pedicure tubs. How is this place still in business?! My first experience at this salon was about a year ago and I walked out before my pedicure was finished vowing never to step foot in the place again! They were incredibly rude, nipped my skin with the cuticle trimmer causing my toe to bleed for several minutes, and never gave me the parafin treatment included in the pedicure package. I recently went back because they are currently offering a $10 pedicure, and I thought it was time to give them another chance. WRONG! The "massage" was a 10 minute session in a chair before your appointment that squeezes your feet and vibrates...woohoo. I could get more "massage" by rolling my foot over a dog toy. The rest of the pedicure lasted about as long and the "technician" clipped my nails too short, did so unevenly and spent about 5 seconds with the nail file. He spent NO time on my cuticles and didn't even bother with the callus file. I wasn't shocked, since this is how my last pedicure at this place had gone. But, I thought for the $10 deal, I might get a nice polish. NOPE. It looks like he put one coat of polish on and didn't even cover the entire nail in most places.
