I got the deluxe pedicure with gel ($60), and a mani with gel ($35). The pedicure was good, which included a paraffin wax, but the massage which was weak. The manicure was horrible . I chose white, but I kept telling her there was bubbles on the nails, so she would scrub off the top layer and put it on again. It was the white color that had the bubbles in the majority of the nails . She was careless in filing off the top layer and it hurt! I told her I had to go, and asked them not to charge for gel... and they refused! I paid $95 and left, frustrated and upset. After getting in my car, I realize the nails have weird shapes and completely uneven! I had to refile them to get them shaped and even when I got home. I went for a pedicure. The guy sang most of the time while he was giving me the pedicure. Then he cut me and never said anything. He sprayed something on my feet and it hit where he cut me. It hurt like heck but no acknowledgement that he was sorry. The pedicure lasted about a half hour including the drying time. Will not be going back. read more

Updated! Since my initial review, I have probably been back about 10 times, and I avoid Saturdays and particularly busy times. Michael, Mary, and Lien are all great! I always get the gels. My manicures last about 3 weeks, and I hardly ever have cracking or peeling. Usually, the nails have just grown out. My pedicures last about 5 weeks. The pedicure massage chairs are awesome! What a treat. First review - 3 stars - Went on a Saturday morning, and they were pretty busy. I killed 20 min in the antique store next door, then came back. I got a color gel manicure. The lady who did my nails is one of the owners. She was very nice, but I think she was kind of in a hurry. My nails have little bumps from dust or air bubbles. The job was finished by her husband. Very clean, friendly environment. Very small, 4 counter seats for manicures, 4 pedicure chairs, 2 waiting chairs. Next time I will make an appt for during the week and go when they aren't so crowded. read more

I don't like to leave poor reviews for small businesses. Just a heads up to bring cash, there's a 10% fee for using card. I am a licensed cosmetologist from Hawaii so I'm not sure what the laws for licensing and sanitization are for Washington. But I could tell that some of the sanitization was not what it should be. Nail files/buffers were not disposed of or sanitized after use but at least all the metal tools were new for every client. They did not check the nails prior to starting the service. I'm not sure if it's a law in Washington but in Hawaii all beauty operators must have their license prominently displayed and maybe I missed it but I didn't see any. I went with my sister. She said the lady was not gentle with her broken nail and that it was painful when she pulled off her cuticles. They also didn't even give her cuticle oil after. I also feel like her service was rushed because another client came in. I don't think we should have our services rushed or cut short because of their poor scheduling. If we needed to move our appointments to get better service that would have been fine but nobody said anything. I want to say the girl that did my nails was very nice, gentle, and professional. I could tell she was a little nervous. She is an apprentice and I can tell she's going to be a good nail tech when she gets more experience. I don't know anyone's names because they really didn't talk to us. It was not the most relaxing experience. I've also never had a manicure that didn't come with a hand massage. There's a big bottle of lotion there but they didn't use any of it. Essentially we paid $35+/each to get our nails painted, which I would have done at home if I had known. However, after visiting, I found out that this business was purchased two months ago by a new family and is now in better hands with new ownership. Donny did my nails and was extremely kind and thorough when giving me a shellac manicure. I brought my girlfriend and her three year old daughter. This was my first time at Lynden Nails and my nails turned out great. The place is CLEAN, the equipment is NEW, and the owners are SWEET. The owners are Michael and Mary, and they do the work themselves. I received a pedicure and a gel manicure with paraffin. The total was $64.00. I was there for an hour and a half and feel like I got my monies worth. My nails look great and the massage was wonderful... which of course, is two of the main reasons I get a pedicure! Then she had someone else take over without saying word to me. I told the other gal I wasn't getting polish so she then got up and walked away. Well, I was still looking for a nail salon and this one is rated #1 in Lynden. I called and there was no wait so off I went. Easy to find and super friendly & clean. I chose the Herbal Pedicure because quite frankly, I needed a bit of pampering. The very sweet lady took her time and it was FABULOUS! My toes, feet and legs have never been pampered like she pampered them. I also have ingrown nails and she took care of them so gently. My toes are a pretty pink and oh so HAPPY!! Sent my granddaughter to this nail salon to have a pedicure. The polish was dried out and the paint job was lumpy, when she asked to have it redone she was told that do not have time right now. When I came to pick her up and noticed the poor paint job I asked about it and when they would not fix it at our convenience I told them we would never go there again. A young man who worked there asked my daughter "you must be ashamed of your grandmother". Very, Very rude, I have noticed that the young men who work there are not skilled and do half way work. They must have changed ownership. This place was great...before. For starters, there was someone else's toe cuticles/gunk on the instrument when the lady started my pedicure. GROSS. The employees spoke in Vietnamese very loudly and didn't speak with the customers at all. That is just SOOO rude. Next, the Shellac didn't dry properly and clumped at the edge of my nail and skin. The lady just ripped part of it off, and painted over it, leaving a dip on my nail. Just left the other nail that clumped, leaving a big bump on tip of nail. And the kicker. WAY OVER PRICED.....$70 (for a worse job than I can do at home) later for pedi/mani and my cuticles looked just as they did going in or worse. And I could be leaving with a new friend, TOE FUNGUS. I've been coming here off and on for over 3 years. When the previous owners were operating it it wasn't that great . Now it's even worse. If you want a basic French tip or plain color they will get you in and out and do a ok job.. Anything more advanced than that don't even bother asking. The husband (the only guy there) has done my nails several times and each time he gets meaner and more rude. A while ago I asked for a nude color with a black stripe. He did it but was NOT happy about it. This time I asked for a French V ( instead of the white along the tip it's on the sides ) he got really pissed because he has to wait for the color to dry and then paint over it. Thats 2 whole colors omg.... This time before I could even finish asking for what I wanted he cut me off and said it can't be done ..then proceeded to leave and pawn me off on some random person who I've never seen do nails there. The pedicure itself wasn't good, they massaged my feet for maybe 5 minutes and then they did a crappy job painting my nails. They missed a full piece of my nail when they were painting it. I've come here a few times and loved the way they did my nails. Lately they have been having terrible customer Service! Friday and Saturday's are walk ins which are always appreciated but when they tell you to come in they have you wait 30 minutes or to come back in 30 minutes. If you come back too soon you'll wait an additional 30 minutes and then if you come 10 after the 30 they'll say come back in another hour. I've even gotten "oh I didn't know you were actually going to come back" .... what!? Lol So ridiculous. This has happened to 4 friends of mine and myself more than twice. If I could review this place no stars I would but that would mean that I wouldn't be able to write a review ! I literally went and got my nails done here last week because it was my 21st birthday. I got charged $47 for acrylic nails that didn't even last 3 days! The glue she used for the tip was either expired or very cheap because the tip unglued itself from my real nail! Therefore there was water and dirt getting inside the acrylic underneath my real nail loosening the acrylic meaning my nails came off!!!! I called and said I wanted a refund and wouldn't be able to come back until Saturday because I had the flu AND work swing shift meaning I don't get off work until 1 am in the fucking morning!!! Which means they are closed. They said they would redo my nails. I go in and the lady makes me look like I'm crazy in front of everybody saying she's not giving me refund because they don't refund after a week! HELLO U DUMBASS I CALLED AND U GUYS SAID IT WAS OKAY!!!! waste of money and time all together I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody! I really like this place. The people have always been friendly and do a great job on my nails. But, I had an issue with a gift certificate expiring just as another person said in her review. My gift certificate was only one month over the 180 day expiration date. They would not take it in full and said it was only worth half the amount. Super frustrating especially since they already got the money and I was just redeeming it. So essentially they pocketed $30. I had to do some research and found out it is illegal in Washington state to have an expiration date on a business issued gift certificate. I hope this is a heads up to anyone who is planning on using or buying a gift certificate!! read more
