After seeing all the 5 star reviews we were definitely expecting a great breakfast, but that did not happen. Perhaps our visit was just an off day at mid-morning? Especially since the place has been around for several years. On a positive note the service was fast, friendly & pleasant. The coffee was also plentiful & hot which is not always the case at many restaurants that serve breakfast. Unfortunately, the eggs benedict will rank as one of the least impressive servings of this dish that we have experienced. First-off, Hollandaise WAS NOT what was placed on top of this egg dish & we could not determine what it was. VERY thin, light tan & almost zero taste. We ordered the traditional Benedict with ham, but the eggs were actually sitting on top of 2 VERY thin round slices of some type of luncheon meat. Could not tell if it was ham, turkey ham, bologna etc.? Came with the house potatoes that were cubed & included onions & looked nice & were tasty, but were a long way from being hot. The eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy arrived with the gravy congealed & barely lukewarm. With egg entrees being $13.95++ we expect the food to be hot & served as described, but that is not what we experienced. We did note a server wearing a T-shirt with a notation about a prior award that read: "Best breakfast 2014-2016". Since it has now been 9 years since this award, perhaps it is time to review the actual preparations that are currently coming out of the kitchen & being served to customers? read more

Great breakfast in a cozy local cafe. Broad menu with a large variety of menu items for any palate. Great creative things like Hawaiian Loco Moco can be found next to Eggs Benedict of many types. Coffee arrives in a carafe and you can take a cup to go with you. Great place to try! read more

Nice place great staff! A little pricey for breakfast. Hubby's eggs, potatoes and ham disappeared. I wasn't quite as happy with the biscuits and gravy. Expected homemade from this place tasted like packaged. And I really wanted hash browns but no they like everyone else has to be different and now they are all alike with their fancy chopped potatoes. I want hash browns for breakfast and a little less pricey for breakfast thus the four stars. read more

Hands down five stars. I seldom give a 5star review after the first visit, so when I do, it's deserving. From the second I put our name on the list, to the minute we stepped out, I was impressed. This place is run well. An owner/manager actively working. Coming from the restaurant industry, restaurant management specifically, I promise you, this has become a lost skill. Not here. The service was great, the food outstanding, the portions, very nice. However the star of this review is the owner/manager. Not only was he an active participant in pretty much every aspect that I saw, he did real table touches. If you are from the service industry and you don't know what I am talking about, shame on you. Anyway, back to the food. I had an Irish Skillet, with real fresh corned beef hash, made in house. The flavor was perfect. The potatoes in the skillet, which can always be a hit or miss, even at home, we're perfectly cooked. I did not have one undercooked or burned. Perfect. The veggies in the skillet were proportionate to the meat, another happy surprise. Personally, next time, I would ask for light cheese, but for cheese lovers, everything was perfectly melted. Best surprise was the requested over easy eggs , they arrived over easy, ! which allowed for the yellows to break and seep down thru my skillet. Joy ! My husband ordered a country skillet , but he managed to make it less than thrilling. No veggies and dry scrambled eggs. He loved it, but it could have been so much more ordered correctly. He is at fault here, not the cafe. He also ordered gravy with his biscuits, even the gravy got my vote. We've been passing this place for over a year and never stopped before because there 8s always a small line out the door. The weather was nice today so we made the choice to stop and wait, expecting and even embracing a 30-45 minute wait. Delicious breakfast. They have a small parking lot and limited seating, so get here early. The food portions are ample, and the coffee hot. The only negative was that after we finished our last bite, the manager told us that bit was time to go, there are others waiting. So, come for the good food, just realize you can't linger afterwards. :-). This is worth a visit. read more

The service is always excellent, gives the impression that the staff is either all part of the family that owns it or they really enjoy working there. 105 is a perfectly adequate breakfast spot, but given the reviews and the wait, I was underwhelmed. Sometimes a dish is more than the sum of its parts, and sometimes it's just the sum -- this was 105. We all had skillets, and the portions were generous, meat was tender -- everything was fine, just not the wow I was expecting. That said, lots of positives -- good, friendly service, and the largest coffee mugs I've been given in a restaurant. Biscuits were decent, but guessing they aren't made scratch in the kitchen. My cowboy omelet had enough jalapenos for 2 or 3 skillets (and I LOVE jalapenos). Maybe the summary of the dishes is -- lots of ingredients, not a lot of seasoning. Bottom line -- 105 is a competent breakfast spot, but I wouldn't go out of my way again. read more

Don't let the size of the building fool you. They know how to squeeze them in but still quite comfortably. And they need that capacity because they are busy. Cranking out delicious meals quickly and all with a smile. My cup was never empty and good was fresh and hot. The moco loco was a unique take on a Hawaiian like breakfast. Tasty, but maybe a little pineapple slaw on the side or mixing a little pineapple juice in the rice would add to it. The blueberry pancakes were large and fluffy. I was finally able to stop by and try this place after always seeing it pack and boy I wasn't disappointed! I ended up getting the chicken fried steak and it was seasoned perfectly not the mention the gravy was to die for! The potatoes and eggs tasted super fresh as well and the potatoes were the perfect amount of crunchy and soft. I was in Conroe for the weekend at the resort in October. I researched some places to eat. This place had great reviews and appealing food pictures. I had to wait on one of my friends to come and meet us so that we could go eat. We ended up getting to the cafe about 12ish. Parking is pretty tight. The parking lot is not big, but there is parking next door to the cafe if you are not able to get a parking spot at the restaurant. The place is quite popular and you will most likely have to wait before you can get in and seated. I can tell you now that everyone was very nice and make you feel like a part of the 105 family. The owner cracked a few jokes upon entering. He told my friend that he was in big trouble for bringing in two women. We got seated and comfortable. The waitress took our orders after we all decided what we wanted. I ended up getting a waffle, sausage, eggs, and grits. When I received my food it looked delicious. Everything was good but the grits. They were too stiff and overcooked. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well. Due to the kindness of everyone and the ambiance of the place, I decided to come again the next day before heading back to Houston. Once again everything was tasty. I got the Chicken fried steak. I will definitely visit this Cafe again whenever I come to Conroe. It was very memorable and felt homey. read more

I was looking for eggs Benedict and found this place... such a shame, making hollandaise sauce is butter, egg yolks and lemon juice.. that's it... it's fluffy, thick and that lemon gives it that taste... but not here.. they make Mock Hollandaise sauce, which is usually in a packet of powder add water.. or some use mayo to thicken it.. My husband and I passed by this place all the time and couldn't wait to try it. It was always packed. It didn't matter what time you got there you had a wait. Well we never wanted to wait. After 3 visits I still don't see the allure. If you like a plate full of breakfast fixings piled high I guess this is the spot for you. I ordered Migas this morning and I only found 3 small slices of corn tortillas (about 1/10th of a corn tortilla) amongst seemingly 3 jumbo scrambled eggs. Nothing special about the diced potatoes or pico so I really don't think I'll be back. I have ordered other traditional breakfast plates the other two times and received a conglomeration of so-so food items on a platter. The food IS freshly made and the service has been great everytime so no complaints there, I just don't understand why the parking lot is always full. read more

While we still love frequenting the 105 Cafe, we have been a little disappointed with the new chefs. They do not poach eggs correctly... they are never soft and runny anymore. We've had to send them back on several visits, where they are hard boiled. In addition, the hollandaise sauce is now just spray cheese... very confused as to why they wouldn't at least use packaged hollandaise if they aren't skilled in making their own. We still love the wait staff, the owner, the atmosphere... and every single other menu item, so we've just learned to avoid the poached eggs and there is no issue. But hoping management might read this and correct the issues with the Benedict, because we used to love it! read more
