I wonder if they have ever been cleaned since the opening of this place. They got this deal of 1 shot in yelp but no one there knows what yelp is. I honestly came here just to good time with my family but I was so disgusted by the way I was treated by the girl who took our tab. Not only did she count the cash in front of us to make sure we had the correct amount, she straight up told us that we did not have enough to fulfill the 20% tip. I did not see anywhere that a 20% tip was a requirement. Not only was it degrading and embarrassing for the girl to tell us that we did not tip enough, but for it to not have a written statement anywhere stating that it was a requirement is just ridiculous. The drink selection is par-ly priced for manhattan, and but the juice drinks are moderate. The alcoholic drinks are a waste of money and very weak. I came here for my friend's birthday on a busy Saturday night. We felt that the private room they put us in was tight, so they moved us to a huge room with no problem or extra charge. The staff was attentive and the prices are good. We even went over our time for about 30 minutes before they kindly reminded us that our time was up, no extra charge. We enjoyed the music selection. Many of their songs have the original music videos playing, which enhance the experience. The only thing I don't like about this place is that cigarette smoking is allowed and it makes the place smell! If that doesn't bother you, come here for an enjoyable experience. read more

A very affordable night of karaoke. The cost of the room is credited towards the food and drink bill. Beers started at $6. They also offer bottle service at bottle service prices. The place smells like a big ashtray. The cigarette burn marks on the ledges of the rooms confirm that people smoke in the venue. There were about 15 cups with dice, so I assume that people go there to play dice games and smoke cigarettes. There is a language barrier, so keep your questions simple. Ordering was a little more difficult than needed be. I had to point to the beer and use fingers to order more rounds. The staff was nice, so I'll give them credit for that. There are no books to browse for song ideas. If English is your first language, picking songs on the touch screen is quite difficult. Finding the Beatles took manual navigation through countless swipes on the screen. The sound is awful. They use music videos for the karaoke and they just drown out the vocal tracks. This is both cool and annoying. Sometimes the vocal track and guitar get muted and you basically sing to drums and maybe bass. We came here on a rainy day for a friend's party. We reserved the BBQ balcony, which was $10/person + tip for 15 or more people. Since it was raining, they moved us downstairs. The song list was not in a book, but rather in a TV. Each person had to input a song at a time, and as previous reviewers noted, the list is retardedly alphabetical with a search that uses numbers like touch-tone phones (1=ABC, 2=DEF, etc.). The list was in Chinese at first, but with the help of our Chinese-reading friend we changed it to English. We put in songs SOMEHOW. The menu is so insanely confusing, we spent the entire time learning how to use it. The remote is mostly in Chinese with TINY English subtitles. After putting in about ten songs they moved us again, back to the balcony. The stairs smelled pretty bad, and the room upstairs was freezing. They put a skylight in there, so the natural light kept us from getting the full dark room effect. Boo. We had to put all the songs in again. BOO. Onto the important part: there was no TV screen, only a markerboard and a badly-aligned projector. What in the hell? The videos were therefore dull and hard-to-see. Not only this, but there were vocals added to each song. This meant that we could hardly hear our own voices, and turning off vocals made the song skip a bit. Then, they had the full music video for many songs. We had to go through all 9(?) minutes of Gaga's Paparazzi video. Painful. Don't even get me started on their song list. It was horrible. So many popular bands were missing. You want Fall Out Boy? Well, forget about singing "Sugar, We're Going Down"! Like Paramore? Forget about "Misery Business". They had The Killers, but not "When You Were Young" or "Mister Brightside". This was how it was for every pretty well-known band: they might have them listed, but the most popular songs would be GONE. How does that work? They completely missed out on some well-known bands. But they did have a good selection of La Roux, which mystified me. The food included with the room was pretty good. They barbecued beef, chicken, and shrimp for us. I ate the 2 types of grilled shrimp they served and loved them both. My friends completely devoured the other meat. The water was a bit lemony, which was okay. They had plenty of glasses for water in the corner and napkins, plates, and utensils. My friends did enjoy the drink selection and paid for all of them downstairs. At the end of the session, we received a bill with about $40 of drinks added on. They must've thought we'd be too drunk to notice, but any extra charge on a bill will sober a college student immediately. Also, I always dislike a group bill, as it causes confusion and people just start throwing money out to get it over with. So, in all, I'd say to come for the cheap, big balcony room and good food (price included in the room), but if you want order, physical books to pick your songs from, and a better bill, stick to Duet 35 or 48. read more

Usually the purchase of 2 or more bottles of liquor would cover the cost of the room. If you come in the afternoon, they have special deals on the room. I love this ktv because it is very fun and has good songs. Not the best, but for the price and his much fun you can have here, it's great. It's great for parties. The drinks are good, and the food is just okay. I don't usually order food from here but when I have, it was only okay. The fries are barely seasoned but they are alright. The chicken wings are actually pretty tasty. As for the songs, it has good selection but can use more. Sometimes I can't find the specific song, but they do have a lot of songs in general. The bathrooms are terrible at late hours. Pee all over the floor and it's hard to sit down so I practically have to stand up lol. That's something that needs major improvement. At least try and clean your bathrooms every hour. I still love the place though. I always come here for fun and we often have birthday parties here. I came here on a Sunday night for an after wedding party. Pros: -Physically a very beautiful place with great ambiance. We had a room that probably could have fit 15 very comfortably with a private bathroom. -Great food (had fries, wings, chicken nuggets, and fish balls) -Great service, they come very quickly with the tap of a button. -Karoake machine had most songs that we wanted. They do have the songs in english, where other review inaccurately stated that they were not. The interface can be a little confusing but all the controls are definitely there. Probably the cheapest karaoke place I've been to in New York City. The place changed. Now there are rooms downstairs. From two years ago: The room upstairs has an door that leads to some sort of balcony thing. Big room. Fits around 30 people. I've been told the upstairs room also has a BBQ grill. The main floor has a few tables, and of course, the bar. Usually surrounded by Asian guys watching something. The bathrooms are decent; I guess they clean is every-so-often, or I'm just lucky. The room sizes range. The smallest room can hold about 10 people tightly. It's charged room per hour. That amount is like your "debit balance" that you can match dollar-for-dollar on their menu for food and drinks. If you go over the amount, you pay extra. The fishballs tastes the best. The fries are good too. The shrimp/crab(?) cakes are gross. The variety of music is alright. It takes a while for new English songs to be in their system. I just realized it was a touch-screen; I've always used the remote--which is THE MOST CONFUSING THING EVER. It's only in Chinese! The videos do not always match the song (like they don't have it), the lyrics are sometimes wrong (whatever!). Overall, it's a decent place for a night out with a group of friends. Before 9pm, the rooms are 50% off and open to everyone (I believe), but after 9pm, 18+ Buzz buzz. Service call. Lol. The disco/strobe lights are annoying. Good thing there's an off feature. I went to 100 Fun this past Saturday and I had a wonderful time. I agree with the New Yorker Magazine review of 100 Fun and this is an excellent bar. This is straightforward Karaoke and I'm a big fan of Karaoke, so we're in the clear. 100 Fun is just south of Sunset Park, which is undergoing a 400 million dollar investment from the City of New York. This area of Brooklyn is going to pop in the next ten years. I've personally seen investments from the private sector, and whereas 100 Fun is on 60th Street, there's a NYU Medical Center on 55th Street. The main bar is not the big draw for this place, really the bar is organized toward its breakout rooms. So, this bar is meant for parties of two or more people. Right now, 100 Fun draws most of its clientele from the neighborhood, which is Chinese-American. It doesn't cost anything to sit at the main bar and pick out songs from the main machine. Around 1am on Saturday the bar cleared out and I basically had a solid two-hour block where I sang every song I could find on the computer that was in English. This was Karaoke heaven, and as soon as a million Karaoke fans find out about this place in New York City, 100 Fun will be flooded like Louisiana during Katrina. It's tough getting a good buzz, outside of the vibes of the karaoke. I drank Budweiser, which is a bit like drinking water. Likewise I ordered mixed drinks and they weren't too strong. Totally forgivable. Be prepared -- and forgiving -- of cultural differences here. Chinese-Americans have a great sense of humor, but you're going to have to practice humility and kindness to break through obvious and legitimate social barriers. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They added a 20% tip handwritten as if they did something to deserve it. They didn't do anything to deserve that so I left a tip I felt they deserved. When we were leaving they would not give my sister her card back because they wanted a bigger tip. We spoke to the manager and he tried to tell us we had to give a 20% tip. I explained to him that was not the law. When he finally let us go we still had to ask for my sister credit card back. When we left another man came outside speaking Chinese and yelling pointing at us and said we are not welcomed back here. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect at an establishment. Celebrated my birthday here on Friday with a group of 9ppl and had a great time. We had the medium sized room which cost $70 per hour (we stayed for 2 which totaled $140). Everything we ordered was delicious (spring rolls, wings, shrimp, fries, chicken wings etc). However I have a few complaints... First off we had to press the buzzer several times for our order to be taken. I understand this establishment is Asian owned but please train most of your employees so they at least know the basics. My entire group ordered Hennessy with different chasers, we simply asked the guy serving us (forgot his name) which one has pineapple juice or red bull in it and he didn't understand us . We requested a new server who was amazing !!!! His name is WangZi, if you ever go here ask for him to be your server. He understands English fluently, can handle a big crowd and remembers the orders off the top of his head ! I give this place 4/5 stars because although service was crappy in the beginning we ended up with a great server, the decor is amazing, had lots of song options, food was yummy and the pricing wasn't bad at all. I do think their 20% mandatory gratuity shouldn't be mandatory if people have to wait over 1/2 hour to be seen. I would definitely visit again! read more

One word to describe this entire experience SKETCHY. Their attitude needs some reality check; a manager or someone should do something. Obviously they didn't have enough training or something. First off i would like to say typically people tip off the pretax. Yes we did give like 10% on their pretax because i was unsure of how much to give for a service I rang the service bell once. So we paid for the hours we were there including tip. We left and the waiters were started chasing us down demanding an extra $10. Since i gave 10% already there was no way i should tip an extra $10 being that I've done my calculation prior. At the end i noticed they wanted more than 15% and it's not just one person stalking us it was a couple. Yes i did give them some attitude because they were being obnoxious by demanding more than 15%. They can be like excuse me you didn't tip enough it is suppose to be this percentage on the after tax amount; you are short of a couple dollars. We would've gave you more if you guys said it nicely. Nope they had to be rude as hell. I work in a customer service place and I've never demand or gave attitude to clients where they didn't tip enough. I know what's it like working in that field it's not easy but hey your attitude and service determines tip keep that in mind. This is my second time here and experience was not so great. The karaoke rooms are congested with the smell of cigarettes (this is the case both times). The up-side about here is that the food was included in the price of rooms which is fairly priced and conveniently nearby. However, today, when I was here with a party of 4 and paying the bill with 15% tip, the waiter said I had to pay 20% tip because it was past 9pm. I did not see a sign stating a mandatory 20% for staying past 9pm. Also, my friend who has been here quite often said she never knew of this 20% tipping requirement. To be honest, we didn't call for service too often-- just to get water and tea, so not sure why we need to give 20% tip and for party of 4 at that. read more
