Great place I…read morevisited a karaoke bar and was absolutely delighted! Great atmosphere, excellent sound, and friendly staff. The food was also a pleasant surprise -- especially the delicious wings. Choosing songs was easy, and the mood kept getting better every minute. I'll definitely come back again!

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else…read more Song selection is only available on the healsonic app and I downloaded in advance to ensure there were no issues. Amongst our group of 13 people, we all had issues connecting to the WiFi and the tv. I convinced the front desk to give us an iPad to manage the music and that also wasn't working. I called the guys to the room multiple times to troubleshoot and it still wasn't working. We fought with the technology throughout the whole 3 hour reservation which really made it difficult to enjoy the experience. During the times it was working, the app was glitchy and we had difficulties seeing the queue and skipping over songs. Also, one of the microphones was barely working. Additionally, before booking I inquired amongst a number of places to compare prices. We picked this place because we were told that there would be an assigned server to our room to allow us to enjoy the open bar experience and not have to step out to the bar to get drinks. Upon arriving, I was told that wasn't the case, even though it was in my email. After a lot of back and forth, they finally agreed to come serve to our room but there were still times I had to leave the room and chase them down. I have done karaoke many times and this was a very stressful experience.

If you and your friends love karaoke, Lion's Roar is a fun twist on the usual spots…read more It's essentially a private, well-kept apartment where the couple who lives there hosts you for the evening. You have access to the very comfortable living room, full kitchen and fridge, a lovely bathroom, and a backyard for when you need a break from the noise (or to smoke, etc.). You can bring in your own booze and snacks, a crowd of your friends, and sing your little hearts out. Roberto and Zaida are your hosts, and Roberto will act as your karaoke DJ for the evening. You request songs via paper note, and he'll call you up. Their microphones are quality (and there's an electronic sanitizer for safety), the setup is fun and easy, and everyone had a good time when I came through. It's quite loud for a residential building, so the soundproofing on the apartment must be excellent. Make sure you bring a good crowd that actually wants to sing, and you'll have fun.

I don't think I've ever had more fun. Roberto and Zaida have created a beautiful and welcoming space for you to celebrate and sing the night away. It's definitely an unassuming venue, but that's not a bad thing! There's a kitchen and you can bring in whatever food and drink. There's a backyard in case you need some air or a smoke. The space isn't huge by any means, but it feels intimate and like anyone can jump in and sing with you at any time, which I personally love about karaoke. Any song you can think of, they've got it. And Roberto MC's the night, and if you're lucky, will perform at the end. This was last August, so covid was high on the mind, but the hosts really made sure we felt safe and were cleaning the mic easily as we went. Didn't feel like it was stopping us from having fun. I will definitely be back!!

Man, I'm surprised by the low ratings. Y'all karaoke-ing with Bruno Mars or something? Geez…read more This was easily the most fun I've had at private karaoke in ages. From the bright, neon, cyberpunk-y decor that reminds me of NYE in Chongqing, to the amazing selection of Asian tunes that cover everything from Hindi to Malay--it was like the UN threw a music festival and every Asian was invited. Plus, how can you not love a room for 15 people costing only $60/hour? And the cost counts as a credit toward food/drink, essentially ensuring free bites and sips for the whole party? Or maybe I'm biased because I FINALLY got to sing Coldplay in Mandarin. Siiiiigh....

This place has potential. There are things I liked and some I didn't…read more First, the payment policy. I have an issue with being required to pay a tip before the service even starts. They make you pay for the night plus the tip before you can even order food or get instructions on how the night will go. That didn't sit right with me. I spoke to the manager, and they said it's their policy and we couldn't participate until the service fee was paid. I ended up paying because I was with a group and didn't want to mess up the night trying to prove a point, but if I wasn't, I would've left. Second, the food selection is very minimal, and I wasn't a fan of anything I tried. I had fried chicken, fries, and a spring roll. Everything was greasy. Now back to the mandatory service fee. After paying, the only time staff really checked on us was to tell us how much time we had left. If we needed anything, we had to press a button to request service. They didn't come by on their own. So it's hard to justify paying $65 for that level of service. On a positive note, the rooms were nice, and the karaoke part was fun. One suggestion: invest in a better karaoke system. Searching songs on YouTube and finding karaoke versions worked, but it would be a much better experience with a more streamlined and visually appealing setup. The service itself, once we called them, was fine--they were nice, and they even extended our time a little past what we were supposed to have. Would I recommend it? Maybe...if you don't mind paying the service fee upfront and you're not going for the food. If you're hungry, I'd suggest trying a different spot with better food options.

The atmosphere is rugged, familiar, heavy with regulars who know each other. That can be comforting, but it also means new people feel a little on the outside looking in. Their beers are solid, the vibe is strong (sports, darts, classic pub banter), and it has the bones of a great local hangout. But there's a resistance to change or warmth toward newcomers, which makes it feel like a place "for the in crowd." If they worked on opening the door just a bit more for first‑timers (friendlier service, small gestures of welcome), Paddy's could be even better. As is, it's dependable and characterful -- just not always inclusive.

The beer selection has diversified over the years but it's the Guinness that's truly the stand out and probably the best pint I've had poured in Brooklyn. They have a total of seven TVs which is more than some locations twice the size and ample seating at the bar and tables. They show Premier League and will open up early for every Arsenal game but they will also show other sports like rugby, college and pro football, hockey, etc. While there is no kitchen, you're more than welcome to bring in your own food and they often host local food vendors for big weekend games. With winter now in full effect, the hot cauldron of cider is now up and running, so what are you waiting for? Head down to Paddy's and find your new favorite local.

At around 8:30 on a Saturday it was packed. Ambiance here is dive bar in the best way. I was lucky enough to find a few bar stools after waiting a decent amount of time a few folks deep to order at the bar. Bartenders, despite the constant rush, were friendly and helpful here. The White Claw + tequila shot combo that I remembered having not too long ago here is no longer on the menu, so I decided to just go with a mixed drink (which is still only something like $8 for a well) and stick with that. For every drink you drink, you get a free personal pizza which you redeem with the pizza guys. Plain pizzas come out pretty quick, but if you want a topping (for a $1) it's a bit more of a wait. This is a tough place to come solo, you ideally need one person holding down your bar seats while the other does the pizza run for this to be most efficient. We left here having had five drinks and two shots, with five pizzas total, for something like $60 including tip. Pretty sure this is one of the only, if not the only spot left where being drunk and full for $30 each is a possibility.
