I splurged on some pricey jeans and being only 5'3", they were naturally 3-4" too long. I tried my tallest shoes, cuffing, tucking under - nothing was right. So I took them in for an original or euro hem. I have had many pants hemmed here before, but not jeans for an original hem. They did a fantastic job and I am so excited to finally be able to wear these jeans looking their best! And the fee was totally reasonable. read more

Over the past 1-1/2 years, having taken a few basic items to this Dry Cleaners near our new home, I then entrusted them with a Llama pillowcase very special to me. Beautifully made of felted wool, it cost $150.00 at Anthropologie ~1 year ago (an indulgence for a sentimental reason). Used rarely, my pillow was essentially in new condition but for a new small dirt smudge. Didn't even try to spot-clean it, as I *thought* that a professional would do a better job. Was I ever wrong. Despite the female (seemingly the owner) examining it carefully at intake and exclaiming over "how cute it is"!, when I went to pickup a week later my pillowcase was utterly destroyed. In pieces. As if an animal had torn it apart (see before & after photos). Both male and female (owners) exclaimed that the situation was "not their fault" (something to do with how it was made). I tremulously replied that it was labeled "Dry Clean Only" and asked what on earth they had done (I suspect water-based machine washing, from appearance). Informed of the cost and my outrage over what they had done (yes I remained polite), neither would offer to pay me for damages, supply me with a new pillow, nothing at all. Not even an apology. The only time I've ever had an unfortunate Dry Cleaning experience (elsewhere), the owner immediately offered to replace the lost item. And did so promptly when given a receipt for the replacement. I'd discourage anyone from using One Hour South Valley Cleaners (Nielsen Shopping Center in Solvang). Their incompetence, duplicitousness, and completely unprofessional business practices do not merit anyone's patronage. Certainly not mine. Despite the now-long inconvenient drive , I'll be taking my things back to the One-Hour Martinizing Cleaners in Goleta--which has done a fabulous job for me for decades. read more

I used these cleaners to clean and preserve my wedding dress. They are affordable and timely with their service. My dress is now in a safe box and can easily be stored anywhere. I will definitely be going back. The staff are nice and they are great with their phones. read more

We brought my daughters horse show suit to this dry cleaner. It was only worn twice and in perfect condition and was inspected by the employee who counted the clothes to be dry cleaned prior. No area of the jacket or pants were tagged as being damaged and I witnessed the inspection. Nothing was tagged because nothing was wrong with anything other than a few dirty areas on the pants. The pants had some arena dirt on the paints and nothing on the jacket but I wanted to dry clean both so the colors would stay consistent with each other. When the suit was returned, both the jacket and the pants had multiple stains as if something was poured on them. One stain on the sleeve was 4" long and an inch wide and the jacket was now also missing a material covered large button. Nothing was marked with tape as dry cleaners do when they clean something, notice an issue and do not want to be responsible for something that was already there. We picked up the clothes, noticed the stains when we got home and brought them back. The owner of the store said the stains were already there and then called her husband who said the jacket had oil on it and that's why it changed colors. If it did during the dry cleaning process, the clothing would have been tag by the dry cleaners. There was no oil. The stains the dry cleaners made were large and in many areas. They denied it was them and did nothing about it. We are changing dry cleaners. This store takes no responsibility for ruining clothing. The suit was $3500.00 and we appreciate and thank you, Owners, for your honest business practices. I encourage anyone to take your clothes somewhere else. We'll never be back. read more

I moved to Santa Barbara a couple of years ago and tried several dry cleaners only to be disappointed and clothes ruined. I dry clean my silk shirts and they do require a delicate hand. This place does a good job and the ironing is always as it should be. One place ruined one of my favorite silk shirts and they didn't charge me but the blouse was way more than the dry cleaning amount! At Valley, I feel like that would never happen. They are friendly and efficient but most importantly they know how to dry clean silk! read more

I've been going to this dry cleaners for over 5 years! They always do an amazing job. I've given them clothing with impossible stains on them, and they always are able to get them out. Took an expensive sweater in for a small snag in the knit- i was assured that the owner could fix it. All she did was CUT the yarn then tied it in a weak knot.... She ruined my sweater, refused to give me my money back and did not apologise. I know how to fix sweater snags, this was minor and they are time consuming but thats what I paid her for. I couldn't help but notice the classless review written by Jeff P. and his wife on 7/29/2016. Maybe the service didn't match their previous trailer park cleaners experience, but to mimic and mock the Korean owners' english is beyond shameful. Sounds like you got what you deserved. Rip Off joint. Prices completely out of line with other cleaning establishments. Don't know how they stay in business. $4.00 per shirt for laundering is outrageous. read more

My wife has been going to this place for years and we have easily spent more than $10K cumulative. Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but convenience certainly outweighed the $1 (give or take) per item we would pay. Since my wife primarily gave this place our business, below are two significant experiences that she wrote about which support the rating. Last year I took a few items in for alterations. The alterations were done okay, BUT the items were never ready by the promised date. Mater of fact, I had to go in several times to pick up the items before they were finally ready. For example an item was promised on Tuesday, I'd show up Tuesday and the owner would say,"You come Thursday." I'd show up Thursday and then she would say, "Monday, you come Monday okay?" I'd show up Tuesday hoping an extra day would matter, but nope, I was told "Oh, it not ready; you come Thursday, okay?" This just went on and on. Most recently, I had a silk blouse that was relatively new dry cleaned--my favorite blouse. They had cleaned it on at least one other occasion. I picked it up and when I went to wear the blouse, it had discolored spots (faded) in a few places. I took it back, told them it was rather new, and they said they would fix it free of charge. When I went to pick it up, nothing had changed. I expressed my concern and told them how new it was and that I had the receipt. They then started to do this song and dance about the fabric, this can happen yadda, yadda, yadda and basically too bad for me. I said oh no, they should have told me that when I dropped it off, PLUS they had cleaned it before with no problem. They then said okay, they'll try and fix it again. The next time I went back to retrieve my blouse, there were dark spots in the places where the faded spots had previously been as well as some new spots on the sleeves! By this time I had had it. The owner said they would give me credit for the amount of the blouse. When I gave him the receipt ($175), he actually said, Oh, no we can't give you that much; we'll give you $100 store credit. Seriously? I'm so over this place....go to St. Paul's on Alisal. read more

I used to get my clothes dry cleaned in Santa Barbara where I work, but this place is far superior. They do good work (no smell) and are very friendly and professional. Last minute, I needed my shirts a day early and they promptly accommodated. Very happy with them. read more
