This laundry mat was nice and spacious with a good amount of washers and dryers. I do wish they had an app to start the units instead of just coin machines. I don't usually have cash on me and choose not to use atms, which I believe they had one. It was decorated very cute for Christmas and pretty clean. Overall, a good place to laundry. read more

I dropped my clothes off AND the Tide and Downey to launder my clothes. My clothes now stink of some other kind of detergent and softener. My skin feels as if it's been exposed to bleach. I specifically said not to use bleach. (I'm using tons of lotion on my effected skin now). I'll be talking with them tomorrow in person as they don't answer their phone. read more

All I wanted was to wash some clothes and go home. I'm now missing a dress. Apparently if you're gone for more than 10 minutes they'll put your clothes to the side. I haven't seen anybody else have their clothes taken and thrown to the side. I've seen people leave for hours on end and have their stuff never touched. The second that I'm in the store question to why I'm in the store regardless of me holding dirty laundry and being aggressively questioned to why I'm using the coin machine even though I'm holding dirty clothes and I'm standing in a laundromat. Unfortunately these are the nicest washer machines so if you wanted to be treated like you don't belong here for clean clothes it's your best bet ....... read more

I never know when they are going to close. It says on their website and sign at the Laundromat that they close at 11 PM but like the other night I was told that now they close at 10:30 PM and had to go home with wet clothes and the other night I went back at 9:30 PM and they were all ready closed. The workers don't care about my wet clothes when it comes to getting off early. So if you are going there at night be sure that you are aware that they Might close on you and leave you stuck with clean but wet clothes. read more

Great place with well kept machines. It is expensive; $5.00-$3.50 per washing load and $00.25 per 10 minuets in the dryer. The high price is worth it if you are not planning to buy a washer or dryer. My clothes always come out stain free, not torn, and clean. It is not just the Tide Ultra Stain Release detergent, it is the well-maintenance machines. The atmosphere is clean and has a flat screen tv to watch while you wait for your wash. They only accept quarters and cash and they have a change machine. They sell detergent and other washing needs along with detergent. Carts, folding tables, and security cameras are all amenities. I recommend all to stop on by and give this place a try! read more

I've been going to this laundromat for years. I've noticed lately that my towels and sheets have a stiff feel after washing them. There's also a very strong scent of gasoline on my things. Im pretty sure this is due to very low water settings on the washing machine. It wasn't always this way but I guess she wants to squeeze every cent she can out of the customers. The laundromat generally fine to get your washing done, I usually just wash comforters and towels. Today the laundromat was busy and I was waiting for a washer to be open. The only one available had clothes in it. I couldn't find the owner so I grabbed a rolling cart and put the clothes into it. As I was finishing up I saw her and told her I had taken the clothes out and asked where should I put it? She laid into me like I had committed a crime. She actually raised her voice and said "don't ever do that again, you are not allowed to touch anyone else's clothes that is only for me to do". I apologized and then she started in on me again. She was so incredibly angry, way over the top for simply removing someone's clothes. She was so busy I don't think she would have noticed if I had removed the clothes and not told her. Even a woman next to me was startled at the way she spoke to me over a really innocuous thing. I wondered if I had missed a sign that spelled this out because clearly I had broken her house rules. After she got done unloading her anger on me, I looked around and didn't see a single sign that said you can't remove someone else's clothes from a washer. Not one. There are 6 signs on how they aren't responsible for your clothes if you leave them unattended and they are stolen. But there was nothing about removing clothes from a dryer if they aren't yours. I've done this many times at other laundromats and it's never been an issue. In fact I have been there before and had taken clothes out of a washer and the other woman that works there didn't say a thing. They have a fluff and fold as well. Whenever I'm there on a busy Sunday there's always someone working there who is using all of the carts to separate the laundry they are doing for other people. They need more carts for customers who need to do their laundry at that moment. Either that or leave empty carts for people who are doing their laundry. read more

I work at a produce market. Since the Corona outbreak I have been working lots of extra hours. I did not have time to do my own laundry so I thought I would have The Mesa Laundromat take care of it. Win, win for me and the gal doing my laundry. I was so happy with the service I was tipping her 50% every time. Just recently we all started wearing homemade masks made by the owner of the produce market's sister. As you all know masks have become very valuable...(Who would have thunk??) The first time I go with a mask in the laundry I get home....NO mask. I need this mask because I am exposed to MANY people all day long. I called the laundromat and asked her where it was. four times she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about! Then FINALLY she said she had it. I am SO disappointed and will never step foot there again. In this time of crisis I have seen so many people shine...The Mesa Laundromat gal is NOT one of those people. read more

This business gets 3 stars ONLY because of convenience, the owners are very nice people and I feel relatively comfortable leaving my laundry for 30 minutes while I take a walk to one of the neighboring businesses. The inspiration for my yelp today is a certain employee that seems to be a little off. Not sure of her name but my encounters are usually friendly enough. Recently I've noticed some inconsistencies in service. I do realize we are all there to do a job. Being a customer I don't think it's OK for an employee to stake a claim on machines and make comments that exude rudeness. Overall I could do with out my laundry being moved and the whole talking to herself as she shuffles around the laundromat. read more

This place is a dump. They used to clean up first thing in the morning after opening so that whatever mess the slobs the night before left would be gone. Now a shattered beer bottle doesn't rate a quick sweep. Neither does all the other trash, napkins, drier sheets. 6 washers out of order and 7 driers out. I've been coming to this laundromat for about 2 years and have never had a problem because usually the machines are working and clearly marked if not. The inside is well lit, the owners are on site throughout the day, and the people who work there doing the fluff and fold are generally very courteous. However, for the first time today I had a machine break on me. It wouldn't start, but had locked my towels inside and after another customer wriggled the latch repeatedly, it began spinning and making a high pitched whine. Which was concerning. After a minute or two the whine stopped and the machine appeared to be working, although it never 'soaped up' like the two machines I was using next to it. After the cycle ended I began pulling my clothes out and realized that they weren't clean, despite having been run with Tide and bleach, and being damp. I asked the woman behind the counter if something was wrong with the machine, and long story short, the owner ended up telling me that it was because I used bad detergent (Tide and bleach) and that my towels must have been extremely dirty since they didn't smell clean still. I will not being using this laundromat again and I wouldn't recommend it if it was the only place in town. Really: Don't use this place!! There aren't many laundromats worth going to, but it's not worth wasting your time at a laundromat that doesn't even get your clothes clean. read more

We have been going to this laundromat for several years, never had a problem. However in the recent months there has been a dramatic decline. At least 1/3 to 1/2 of the machines are non-operational at any given time, the doors on several dryers do not close, one of 2 change machines is non-operational, the vending machine for soap/etc is often empty, and the general condition of the place is just dreary and dirty looking. What finally prompted me to write a Yelp review is the recent horrible decline in customer service. All I expect from a laundromat is someone POLITE on site in case there is a problem, other than that its all self serve (as is expected.) However, Mesa Laudromat cannot even manage THAT anymore. The employee I encountered today actually removed my laundry from the dryer (STILL WET) while I was in the restroom, because she wanted to let her FRIEND use the dryer (her excuse being that I apparently "had left".) I also found several of my still wet socks on the floor and that she had MOVED another load of my still wet laundry to a different dryer (NO idea why!) I told her she had no right to do that and she began telling her friend what an idiot I was in SPANISH right in front of me. Another customer standing by who spoke fluent Spanish came to my defense and told her she was giving very poor service and was unprofessional, and the employee told him to leave and not come back (so he left angry as well.) Long story short, I will never be going back to Mesa Laundromat, there are MANY laundromats in Santa Barbara, don't waste your time or money in this one, it probably won't be open much longer anyway. read more

This place is one of the cleanest laundromats I've been to. However, I saw someone had posted that the parking lot was small and they weren't kidding. I have a compact car and it was still hard to maneuver. Also, a single load washer is 3.25! Crazy expensive. However a double is 3.75 and a triple is 5 dollars which isn't too bad. First off I don't think it is fair that there are old posts from the previous owners ( October 2015 and older)The old owners ran this place into the ground. When new owners took over in October 2015 they had an uphill battle to turn this establishment around. Well I am pleased to say what a joy it is to do my laundry here. Always clean, TV in one place, music in another, free Wi-Fi, live plants, smartly decorated for every special occasion makes it feel like you're at home. Staff wonderful, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If there are any issues, they are handled professionally and quickly. Prices are comparable to other Laundromats. If you are in a hurry and don't have the time, they offer a wash and fold service, which is open 7 days a week. I will not do my laundry any where else. read more

Laundromat was pretty clean and across the street from Lazy Acres... but the owner was hostile and not pleasant at all! I was visiting the area on my honeymoon and was told this was the closet laundromat. We went in to check out the machines and determine how many quarters were necessary (leaving the laundry in the car outside as we didn't want to haul it around). We stopped a change machine and figured "Great! Quarters readily available" and proceeded to exchange some folding money into clinking money. We were looking over the detergent options when the owner came over and said in a very angry voice "Are you going to do laundry? Cuz if not, the quarters are only for customers!" I'm thinking, um... do non-laundry users look at the detergents? I understand that perhaps people grab the quarters and run but it seemed rather rude to accuse first. Anyway, my husband replied very nicely that we are planning to do laundry and that the clothes are in the car. The manager then said, "Quarters are only for customers! Getting change first doesn't make any sense!" I then assured her that we are doing laundry and simply stopped in first to see if machines were even available. She proceeded to rant some more about how getting change and not bringing in the laundry didn't make sense. She then left in a huff. Later when we hit the drying stage, all of the lint traps were locked shut! None of the driers had clean lint traps. When we asked if we could empty it, she said that she empties them twice a day... though some of them looked very packed! Would recommend people find a river and a rock to clean their clothes before using this business. read more

This laundrymat is overpriced. They charge over a dollar in price compared to nearby laundrymats. Not too clean either. On many occasions there are smelly dogs inside. Not exactly the smell or cleanliness your going for when washing your clothes. The owner is also not the friendliest woman I've met. She is mildly rude. The machines are often dirty.
