Every time I come here, Edwin is there, and he's the reason this place stands out. He's one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. As soon as you walk in, he greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome. He's always ready to help, and you can tell he takes pride in keeping the place spotless--it's one of the cleanest laundromats I've ever been to. I've had the immense pleasure of needing to haul all of my household laundry to the laundromat on a few occasions. All things considered (I mean, you are doing laundry) IV laundromat is pleasant, clean and conveniently located. Suggestions to the establishment: provide a bathroom, and clean the mold from the plastic flaps on top of the front loaders where detergent is added. They are gross & it's an easy fix. I can't in good conscience give 5 stars because doing laundry sucks, no matter what the venue. read more

I came in at 10:20 PM just to dry my clothes (not to start a wash) and was told I couldn't use the dryers because it was past their "last wash" time of 9:30 PM. It makes no sense because if someone starts a wash a little before/at 9:30 (which is apparently allowed), they wouldn't even be ready to use the dryer until around 10:15-10:20 PM, the exact time I was there. It felt like they just didn't want to deal with people late in the evening. I was probably going to be out before it was even 11:00 and if they're really worried about me not picking up my clothes in time they could just lock the doors. They could also just close at like 10:30 if your clothes need to be in the dryer by 9:30. It's especially frustrating because they already charge like $5 per wash, which is insanely expensive and overpriced, because they know they can take advantage of college students who don't have easily accessible washers and dryers and can't drive. It's also insanely busy during the school year. I would suggest taking your laundry to San Raf during the school year. The door is open in the daytime, and the laundry is free. Or make friends in manzi/wait outside for someone to let you in. Either way it's definitely worth the extra two blocks of walking. read more

Used to like this place, but now every time I go somehow the dryer I use has "no heat" and doesn't work. This has happened the last 3 times I've done laundry here. I just went back inside to pick up my clothes, and found all my clothes laying in a cart, and a sign on the dryer that just said "no heat." So someone just took my clothes out, left them out and didnt put them in a new dryer. I then tried to get a refund and was denied. most definitely not going to come back to this place read more

This is a great laundromat!! The owner Edwin was incredibly helpful, the first person I met here and couldn't have been nicer. I'm moving my son here for college and had a lot of laundry, bedding etc to get his apartment ready. The machines are new and very clean, I was able to do everything I needed done efficiently and all came out great. Edwin offered me individual softeners that he had on hand so I wouldn't have to buy a whole bottle. He's a neighborly "nice guy" and a welcoming introduction to the neighborhood. I look forward to signing up for the wash and fold service I believe they will be offering when school starts. I highly recommend this place. read more

The other attendant (not Erwin) is very rude and condescending. He's misogynistic and I've seen many instances of derogatory behavior from him. Ladies be weary of coming here. The prices are outrageously expensive and I suggest just going to Goleta or washing in Manzi. read more

Just did laundry here today and Edwin was helped us out and made the experience so much better. As we waited, he provided us with water during the hot summer in Isla Vista, and even gave us the tv remote to keep us entertained while we waited for our clothes. I'm reviewing their drycleaning (I haven't and don't need to use the washers/dryers). I'm new in town and know from past experience that it's safest to test drycleaners with a shirt you don't care about. I have a suit I got stained at a wedding so the winner gets that plus the rest of my clothing for the rest of my time here. So, I brought a shirt that I'd worn a couple of times and got pretty wrinkled but didn't have any stains or any noticeable dirt there. The guy I dropped it off with I'm 95% certain said it would be $7 when I asked. He was a bit gruff but polite enough. Where I'm from, this would cost $2-3 dollars but I figured for $7 I'd still give it a go and the extra $5 is basically a convenience fee since they're walking distance. I dropped it off on Friday and said no rush. The tag says it got cleaned Friday night which is quite quick. They called me Monday (~72 hours after drop-off) that it was ready for pick up. The guy I picked it up from Edwin was super friendly. BUT, it cost $15. I'm not sure this shirt is even worth $15. When I told him I thought it would be $7 he pointed to the plaque/sign saying "& up" next to all the prices. At the bottom of the plaque it says to ask for a quote if you need an exact price. So I mentioned that I was told it would be $7, and if that wasn't asking for a quote then what is. Edwin didn't really answer that (the "I'm not in charge / I don't make the rules" excuse). The shirt does look fine (no damage or stains) though there are still a few conspicuous wrinkles on it. They get +1 star for the staff being friendly and for an adequate, speedy job done. They lose 4 stars on it being ridiculously expensive. I got a quote from another drycleaners I'm testing as $29 for a suit. This place says $21 "and up" so there's no way. If you're in a pinch, this place can do the job. But it's probably cheaper if you have a bunch of shirts to pay an uber/lyft to go somewhere else. read more

Horrible place to do laundry at. They are overpriced (because they know students have limited options in IV) and management is rude. An older Latino man that was working behind the counter bumped into my friend and told her to move. Manners much? If you have a car, a much better option to do laundry at is the laundry mat on Hollister and stroke. It's much cheaper. read more

I had to wash everything in my apartment, came to the Isla Vista Laundromat with six bags worth of stuff. I forgot my laundry detergent and they were kind enough to let me use theirs, free of charge. The staff are extremely helpful, they've offered their help on numerous occasions beforehand as well. They are the best in the Isla Vista/Goleta area! read more

This is the first real laundromat I've used, and I've got no complaints. There's a change machine to get quarters and it's 2.50 for wash. Drying is 7 minutes for a quarter. There's tables and chairs to use and there was no wait to use anything. I'll probably be back! read more

Just got back from doing my laundry here and Edwin helped me out lots. I had a crappy detergent so my laundry didn't come out clean out of the washer, but Edwin came in clutch with a really strong detergent to help me clean my laundry full of dog pee. He also gave me a good recommendation on detergents to use for the future so that I wouldn't have to deal with bad laundry again. Real friendly and super helpful! Thanks again :) 5/5! read more

Edwin you are the best person there is!! I went in to do my laundry like I normally do, always getting treated at the door with a big smile by Edwin. On my last visit I couldn't stay to wait for my clothes to dry and, when I came back my clothes was GONE!!! All my work uniforms all my jeans and leggings EVERYTHING. I came in the next morning to see if Edwin had maybe seen or known who would take my laundry, but to my surprise he already had it washed and dried again for me because one of the regular homeless had taken it by mistake. Edwin went above and beyond going over to tell the girl/lady that she had taken something that was not hers. I can not thank this man enough, he is the best. read more

There was a dead rat in the washer. The employee didn't offer to pay for me to rewash, just said sorry. Taking my now dead rat juice filled clothes to a different laundromat, this place is absolutely disgusting. Decent laundry matt, people are nice and there isn't much noise. Although the machine told me 2.75$ and charged me 5$ for the wash so watch out for that if you are paying with card. read more

I come here exclusively for laundry. The machines are fine. Prices are a bit above normal and i would only come here if i had a car. The machines eat quarters occasionally and the WiFi password posted is incorrect. Really expecting more but this place is kindve declining. Prices are expensive but only leaving a review because of a fantastic interaction with the morning manager, Edwin. After the machines at my complex broke and left my clothes soaked, I had to bring them to this laundromat to wash a second time and because the basket was so heavy I just dropped it at the first machine I saw, which happened to be the $7.25 huge load machines. At this point I really just wanted to get my clothes done so I just decided to use that machine even though I really just needed to spin the water out. The manager Edwin walked in and saw me about to use the machine and said he couldn't bear to see me use the larger machine and pay the amount to just spin dry. He helped me get my clothes in the smaller machine and even provided me some laundry pods to rewash my clothes. He helped me dry the floor and my laundry basket after. Although I don't enjoy paying such high prices for laundry, I really appreciated his attitude and his small act of kindness. Thank you Edwin! read more
