This was my first stop in Hong Kong for roast goose, and while it ended up being my least favorite of the meats, it was still very good--much leaner than I expected, with rich flavor. The true standouts were the roast pork and char siu. The roast pork had an ultra-crispy skin--almost sharp enough to cut your mouth, but in the best possible way--paired with juicy, flavorful meat underneath. The char siu struck a perfect sweet-and-savory balance, with a beautiful ratio of fat to meat that made each bite melt in your mouth. We also tried the suckling pig, which had wonderfully fragrant and flavorful meat. The skin was tasty, though not quite as crispy as the roast pork's. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The space is simple--white tiled walls, small stools, and a cozy, no-frills dining room that lets the food do all the talking.

The chilled mango cream with sago and pomelo was very refreshing, with the perfect amount of sweetness. The only dish that did not stand out to me was the pan-fried turnip cake with minced turnip. It was lukewarm instead of hot, and the surface lacked crispiness. The minced turnip on top probably reduced the crispiness as well. When we wanted to try the braised glutinous rice in lobster soup with scallop, we were already full. It was nice that our server recommended getting a half-order of it. It was excellent. The glutinous rice soaking in lobster soup had changed its texture, it resembled congee a bit, but was full of flavors. In the end, Tin Lung Heen presented us with complimentary desserts in a Star Ferry shaped ceramic pot that bore its logo. The cookies and mochi were very good, but we were so full that we had some as leftovers to go.
