I have always been there for dinner, but they also have lunch time buffet (for 90 HKD!) which is probably the best value for money you can get around this area. The place isn't really fancy; it's a wide open space with a ton of tables - pick the ones close to the window; they don't have tables for two. In fact, they're big enough to accommodate for 5 people and, what's more important, for the procession of dishes that you may end up ordering. They have a delivery menu that you can check online and a la carte menu, which is the one I know, and I can almost recite from memory. From what I've tried I would highly recommend any of their chicken dishes (especially Makhani, Korma or Vindaloo). They normally come as mildly spicy and you should ask them to spice your dish up or down. The chicken meat always comes very tender and flavorsome (I haven't experienced the same thing with mutton for example). As a starter, you can't miss the Saag Paneer. It may be a little pricey for an appetizer or side dish (around 70 HKD) but it is absolutely worth it. It's the best one I've tried so far. A dinner for two can cost around 250 HKD, service charge included (but not drinks) which is a pretty good deal!

If a friend is in town, which Chinese restaurant will I bring him / her to enjoy delicious food? No…read moredoubt, Man Ho Chinese Restaurant will be my No. 1 choice. With the youngest Executive Chef at a 5-Star Hotel and the fastest Chinese restaurant to obtain 1-Michelin Star in Hong Kong, Man Ho has become one of the hardest local restaurants to make bookings. Sauce is often the soul of French cuisine; surprisingly, it is also the case for the Chinese food served at Man Ho. You do not have to dip your dim sum with sauce because the sauce is within the wraps. While my friend is not a vegetarian, she falls in love with the steamed porcini mushroom dumplings that have the delicate flavor of Chinese soy sauce. Deep-fried spring rolls with minced Wagyu beef, onion and black pepper is the highlight of the meal. My friend and I are so impressed by the exterior crunchiness of the spring roll, the interior butteriness of the beef and the highlight of the Wasabi sauce within the roll. Nonetheless, we are disappointed by the barbecued duroc pork loin with honey sauce. Ideally in HK, char siu is smoked at a lychee wood oven. However, the char siu at Man Ho is cooked at an electronic oven, leading to the lack of crispy exterior. Overall, I highly recommend dim sum, especially fried food, over main dishes at Man Ho Chinese Restaurant. #ThankyouThursday

There is a counter up front and tables in the back suitable for larger groups. I had stopped by earlier in the week with a vegetarian colleague and was told they had no vegetarian options so be aware of that (no issue for me). They have ordering online by scanning a QR code and it was easy enough to navigate; a server was helpful in making a few recommendations before I confirmed my order. The ramen came out quickly (it was early on a week night, so not busy). I had a BBQ pork option and it was good, though not as good as ramen that I have had stateside. I paid a small premium for extra noodles, but they came on a side plate so were somewhat dry and not as enjoyable as the main dish. Prices were quite reasonable, so if you are craving ramen I would say Ippudo is worth a try.

We selected a set menu for the 45 of us in advance, and each dish was delicious. My favorites were the suckling pig and the longevity bun was surprisingly good. Chinese food isn't known for their desserts and this one doesn't look particularly compelling...but the bun was the right combination of a fluffy bun surrounding a sweet but nutty filling of lotus seed paste. I could've eaten dozens of those...
