We got a bunch of dishes: Beef rice roll: translucent, soft, and delicious! Fried dough shrimp rice roll: best dish of the bunch, fried dough was light, crunchy, and very uniquely stuffed with shrimp, GET IT! Shu mai: lightly seasoned, tender, big portions, tasty Egg custard bun: yum, not too sweet, bread was soft and moist Ribs & chicken feet rice: nothing special I love that everything here is lightly seasoned, fresh, and made just right!

I'm normally a huge fan of lei garden. The food here is amazing for how light and healthy it is yet…read moreso delicious. The food taste and quality easily exceeds my expectations of a 5 star restaurant; however, the reason why I'm giving this joint 4 stars is for their service towards foreigners. We brought our friends here for brunch, some of which are white. The staff treated us so much worse than the times we come here with family. To give you some examples: we were ignored for many parts of the meal with our food delivered very sporadically. we had to ask multiple times to make simple requests. They tried to serve dessert in the middle of our meal, when we asked them to bring it back later the server yelled at me for not making t clear when ordering. This is absolutely absurd! At asian restaurants, this is always assumed since they do not have a separate dessert menu like most western restaurants. A high end chain like lei garden would normally not mess this up. Furthermore, admitting to the mistake would have been fine, but their wait staff yelled at the customer! TL:DR Come here for the food, come with low expectations for the staff, or come here with a local hk family

It's a well recognized, popular place in central Hong Kong, located by Victoria Harbour. I had heard about this place from before visiting Hong Kong. Tim Ho Wan, which is a one Michelin star rated famous dim sum place, was at the top of my list for Dim sum but we couldn't make time for it based on our sight seeing itinerary. When we got here, there was a wait but the line was moving fast. You have to mention to the front door receptionist about how many people you have in your party and you get a number. Once your number is called, you get seated. Once seated, a server comes and places plates and silverware and offers you water and tea. Tea is complimentary. I have heard that some places in hong kong charge you for tea while you are under the impression that it's complimentary. The way it works for ordering dim sum items here is that servers constantly are around pushing carts full of variety of food items. You with flag them down or when they come by your table area, you tell them what and how much you want of the foods they have on their cart. There's a list of items on the side of the cart to tell you what all they have in that cart. Once you are given what you wanted, the server marks on your bill what you got and how much of it. Later, you take that bill to the cashier and pay. We ate a lot of variety of foods. Dumplings, buns, fried rolls, roasted pork pieces, and mango oriented dessert items. It was all delicious and good. We loved it. It was worth the visit. This place is good for anyone (locals and tourists). It's in a nice setting. The restaurant room looks like a banquet hall room with white cloth tables, chandeliers and servers in uniforms. Go check this place out. I highly recommend it. It's worth eating their dim sum because it's really tasty and good.

It's a classic Dim Sum place with both ordered food and carts that go around. The food is a mixed bag -- for instance, the pig blood wasn't fresh and the chicken feet wasn't steamed tender enough, but the Chang fun and dumplings were wonderful.

We sat there for a good 15 minutes just waiting. We saw the dim sum cart so we thought it'd eventually get to our table. We then saw waiters bringing out plates to other tables so then we got super confused. Luckily there was a nice couple sitting next to us that could speak fluent English. He explained this place and with newer dim sum places you scan a QR code and order. He also went through the selection on what's good and what portion is big, etc. I swear we lucked out that night with this kind gentleman otherwise we'd be sitting there clueless for hours. Food was top notch. You know often times you order mindlessly (literally in our case because there were no photos to reference to so we went by the names and the gentleman's recs) and there will be some misses. Not here! Everything was delicious. Literally all. You can't go wrong with anything here, take my word. Just remember to scan the QR code to order so you don't sit there cluelessly like us.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! I love the cute faces on a few of the dumplings. It was also such a reasonable price. For 4 of us, we split the bill and it was about $15 each. We ordered a lot - probably around 10, if not more, dishes. Note of caution: The water with lemon is not a water with a slice of lemon, but also has sugar on the bottom that visibly separates and needs to be mixed. It was interesting.

Depending on what you order, be prepared to spend the equivalent of about USD30 or more per person. What sets Lei Garden apart from the rest of all the dim sum restaurants is not just the deliciousness of their food, but their refinedness and creativity. Shredded Yam Egg Rolls: That's exactly where their creativity and sophistication come in. The filling tasted like a puree of yam mixed with minced pork and was almost heavenly. These are hands down the best egg rolls that I've ever had! Honey BBQ Spare Ribs: This is one of their specialties and I highly recommend that you order this dish. The meat was so tender that they fell off the bones. The honey BBQ flavor was so delicious that I needed to borrow a phrase from KFC that "it's finger licking good!" (Yes, forget about the chopsticks and eat with your fingers!) Fried Chicken Wings: The skin was perfectly crispy and the inside was moist and juicy. This is another dish that requires you to eat with your fingers and lick them to completely enjoy the experience. Har Gow: Thin, translucent, and slightly chewy skins were graced with a shrimp filling that was bouncy in texture and rich in natural flavor. Bean Curb Rolls in Broth: The fish broth was richly flavored, and not only did it make the bean curb rolls more enjoyable, it was so tasty that we finished every drop of the broth, treating it just like a soup dish. Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf: Tasty and not overly oily (Yes!) fried rice was generously mixed with Chinese sausage, minced pork, salty egg yolk, among many other goodies. It was wrapped in a lotus leaf and steamed to perfection that the aroma of lotus filled the air and stimulated the palate. This is another one of their specialties that I highly recommend. Siu Mai: They were tiny but were packed with a concentrated richness that was enhanced by the flavors of black mushrooms. Small, bite size, refined, and delicate - They were exactly what dim sum should be like! Beef Balls: Quality speaks here. There was not even a hint of soda powder or tenderizer. Again, the serving size was tiny but the flavor was supreme. And that perfectly matches the city where the value of food is generally not measured by its size, but by its quality.

Food here can be described as traditional Cantonese with an added flare of updated interpretations, there are a few dishes the restaurant are famous for e.g. Crispy Skinned Chicken marinated in Supreme Soy Sauce, Seasonal Double Boiled Soup, Roast Pork Belly with Cracklings etc. On this latest occasion, I tried a few more common dishes, and what stands out the most are: Beef Brisket, Tendon & Potatoes in Curry Sauce, Braised Goose Web with Shiitake Mushrooms & Tofu Skin. Love the curry sauce as it goes perfectly with plain steamed rice, even the potatoes were done well in absorbing the curry. If you like Morning Glory, they do a very good job with the seasoning and I usually request the Chef to add extra Thai Chilli to kick it up a few notches! Service has always been attentive, but I also noticed the high turn over rate as the familiar faces from the last few years are not to be found, parking can be redeemed, just notify the server at end of your meal!

I have nothing bad to say about all the items that we had. Each one of us paid about 80 HKD and was able to try 13 different items. My friend, who happened to visit DTF a few days ago, concurred with my verdict. The skin over here is thinner, the meat filling not as clumpy and juicier. But side by side, Ye Shanghai has a better XLB, at least by Hong Kong standard, which always prizes a thin wrapper. We ordered a variety of other dishes, from wine chicken to shanghai noodles, and they are all quite delicious, and compare favorably to the same dish I've tried elsewhere. The only downside is, as you can imagine from its location, that this place is pricier. The pork belly wrapped with fragrant leaves is melt-in-your-mouth succulent, but not cheap at HKD30 (about US$4) for piece slightly over 1" cube in size.

Although their dimsum isn't cheap, it is good and you have to remember Hong Kong Gold Coast is a tourist destination. DINNER IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE Even the white rice is bad. I think they aren't able to hire a good chef and I've been back once to see if they had improved since I had my first dinner soon after their soft opening. No change - just as bad.
