I did get some of the crispy rice on the bottom and it was delicious. My favorite thing about claypot is how flavorful the rice gets from soaking in all the meats or whatever toppings. The fish ball was soft, bouncy not fishy but I actually had it better elsewhere. I personally liked the dry noodles more than the soup version. Staffs speak English pretty well, and they also have English menu. I'd say the beef brisket here was pretty good, but I would skip if the wait is more than 30 minutes.

It wasn't exactly Japanese curry or Indian or Thai curry; kind of its own thing but it had a nice hint of spice that worked really well. Because the portions were so huge, we actually packed a big takeaway box before we even started chowing down. We each got a cream soda too, which honestly feels mandatory when you're in Hong Kong. But then mom told us its history. Sun Sun restaurant moved to Shamrock Hotel in the 1950s at the invitation of the hotel owner, and told the hotel's name. The hotel was just across the street from Bruce Lee's childhood home and his family was a regular visitor. Recently, due to a lease issue, the restaurant moved out of the hotel after 64 years, and, resuming its old name, reopened in the building next door. Mom also told us that this restaurant was where my parents had their wedding banquet, as well as the new born banquets for me and my brother. Which explains her personal fondness for this restaurant. So, this restaurant and me goes way back. I suppose it was one of my earliest dining experience. For that, I wish I could give it a five star. Alas, I cannot. The seafood fried rice has tiny shrimps and not much else from the ocean, and the cha siu was so tough and dry. On my first bite I was like, wow, it was an eye opener... to have cha siu so bad. It definitely qualifies for the "most cha cha siu" in my life (a word play as cha also means awful). Other dishes are not bad, the greens is very tender and flavorful.
