Generous portions of beef - Fish and tofu in a clay pot: not a lot of fish but overall tasty and I loved the mushrooms and veggies soaking up the sauce - All American breakfast: nephew enjoyed it, standard toast, bacon, Japanese sausage looking hot dog - Nice to be able to add on a drink for a mere $3 HKD on plates. We got cans of Coke & Sprite. $726 HKD damage for 4 adults & 4 kids is a great deal. Dishes are a hit or miss but overall I'm a fan! Staff was great but they never bused anything. TONS of seating and they had a large table set up for 8 already!

Not wowing, but also nothing bad about any of it. The pork knuckle on a sizzling platter was quite unique as I'd only had it previously at one dai pai dong (local outside eating restaurant). It was quite tasty and tender, and the meat broke apart from the bone easily. The waiters also helped us to break it up so it was easier to eat. Service: Their service was fine. Everything came as we ordered it. They were generally pleasant if we had any questions. With a coupon we had for a complimentary steamed fish, we paid for the 4 other dishes. With 5 people at dinner, we each paid about $90, which is quite reasonable, and we were quite full, and it was exactly the right amount of food.

We reserved a Peking duck in advance but didn't stop there - we also dug in on some slow-roasted original duck, crisp duck with smoked sugar duck eggs, pepper silk fermented bean curd (oddly enough my favorite because I love veggies), Mongolian roast duck, and finally double flavored dragon beard yellowfish. Would definitely recommend coming here folks

It was a Sunday afternoon and I was in search of food and amidst many long lines at dimsum places I…read morestumbled upon Forbidden Duck and decided to try it since it was by a well-known chef and the menu items looked delicious. Lets just say the service we received here was horrendous: we were slowly seated by a server that did not know what they were doing and they didn't give us menus or anything for at least fifteen minutes. Once we were given menus we never got an actual waiter and asked a few waitstaff some questions about the menu and they didn't know the answers so they got the manager to come over. We never got served tea or water and was charged for tea. In addition the waitstaff kept giving us other table's food and gave our food to other tables and everything was super slow. It was a slow and painful meal that just went wrong in every way possible. I would be more empathetic if the restaurant was busy, but that wasn't the case. Now lets talk about the food - it was extremely salty and greasy - I mean yes, it's to be expected from Chinese food in general but this was gross levels. We ordered some duck dishes, a lobster, and some more dimsum like dishes. Lets just say nothing was even memorable and we left feeling salty and gross. Especially because we never got anything to drink. For a duck place I expected the duck to at least be good but it was very much like a street stall food but possibly worse. If you're looking for a good duck or yum cha experience, do not go here. The food is terrible and the service is worse, especially for a decently expensive menu they have this was definitely the worst dining experience in HK I've ever experienced.

Love the food but will not wait in the line because why? Inside you need to share the table with other people and if taken out it is not as fresh anymore, thus it's really a catch22 Anyway, if you have to try it, then ~1h waiting time and come over before they open. Otherwise, try to figure out how to call them in advance for the take out. Cash only and the price is around HKD 110 per dish.

One of the servers came out and warned everyone that they close at 8:30 pm, and by then only the curry fish, pork cutlet, brisket, chicken and beef were left as everything else was sold out. Even after hearing that, nobody left the line. We finally got seated right around 8:30 pm and ordered the fish, beef and pork chop. Everything arrived within about 10 minutes. For Hong Kong standards, the portions were absolutely massive. Each dish cost HKD 110 and even came with a huge piece of potato in the gravy/sauce. Note that everything but beef was deep fried. The meat were tender and juicy. The curry itself was really tasty and fragrant. It wasn't exactly Japanese curry or Indian or Thai curry; kind of its own thing but it had a nice hint of spice that worked really well. Because the portions were so huge, we actually packed a big takeaway box before we even started chowing down. We each got a cream soda too, which honestly feels mandatory when you're in Hong Kong. Overall, it was a good experience. Just note: they only take cash, and they also charge for takeaway containers. Bring an umbrella too as there is no cover while waiting outside. There is also a HK$90 minimum pp charge.

It's Michelin-recommended, so we decided to try it for our last lunch. We ordered quite a spread. The honey-glazed char siu was my favorite, beautifully caramelized on the outside with slightly charred edges, while the pork was tender and juicy. Definitely one of the dishes I'd order again. The har gow had plump shrimp inside thin, delicate wrappers, while the siu mai were generously filled and really satisfying. The xiao long bao had soft wrappers with that little burst of soup inside, and the bean curd skin rolls were silky and soaked up the savory sauce nicely. We also had the beef with silky scrambled egg and rice noodles, which was rich and comforting, with the soft egg almost becoming a sauce for the beef and noodles. The fried rice was darker and more intensely seasoned than the usual Cantonese fried rice, with bits of meat, egg and vegetables throughout. Even the stir-fried Chinese greens were done well, garlicky, fresh and still crisp. We ended with the pork buns, warm and fluffy inside with that sweet, crumbly golden crust on top. Service was attentive The restaurant is large and quite traditional, and it was packed during lunch with lots of local families. Nothing overly fancy, just a very satisfying Cantonese lunch and a nice way to end our Hong Kong trip.

Dim sum dishes were standard (w exception to the black sesame roll which was served warm...so good and pronounced sesame flavor that brought back childhood memories as most tea houses in the U.S. don't serve this anymore) but the à la carte items were the factors that made me give it a 4 star rating. Crispy beef ribs we never had this way before. The crunchy flaky exterior gave it an interesting texture but it had good beefy taste...could have been a tad more tender. The pan fried cod w/ corn sauce was excellent. The soy pan fried cod also delicious. Their roasted suckling pig though was definitely the star!

The location was easy to find but it was confusing to get to the right floor. Even when the address listed as the 3/f of the hotel, you have to find the specific elevator to access that floor. The hotel elevators did not have access to the restaurant and there were no sign to let customers know about that. All of the guests at my table needed to get on multiple elevator rides to get to the restaurant. The suckling pig was very tasty! The best I have had. The turtle soup was good but I didn't find it as impressive as other dishes. The sea cucumber were also amazing and tender. The only complaint I would have is that normally Chinese restaurants provide dessert at the end, with the expensive menu, this place didn't offer any. It left a void in the experience.

Everything we got was delicious. It is a little pricey, compared to other restaurants in Hong Kong, but totally worth it. You do have to order the suckling pig in advance so make sure to give them a call or message them through WeChat / WhatsApp. Suckling Pig: *5/5*: The skin was perfectly crispy and fatty. They serve it with fluffy steamed bread (mantou) with hoisin sauce and sugar on the side. It sounds weird putting sugar on it, but definitely recommend trying. They serve five dishes with the pork: crispy skin, pork meat, soup, pork intestines, and forgot what the last one was. Walnut Shrimp: *5/5*: The shrimp pieces were huge and fried perfectly. This was one of my favorite dishes. Do wish it was a little sweeter but that's just my person preference. Loved it! Stir Fried Lobster: *5/5*: If you love lobster, this is a must order. The sauce was perfectly coating the lobster and it's so so good.
