Dim sum with a view! Great location inside Miramar 1 shopping mall 5th floor. Service was friendly and attentive. Dim sum dishes were standard (w exception to the black sesame roll which was served warm...so good and pronounced sesame flavor that brought back childhood memories as most tea houses in the U.S. don't serve this anymore) but the à la carte items were the factors that made me give it a 4 star rating. Crispy beef ribs we never had this way before. The crunchy flaky exterior gave it an interesting texture but it had good beefy taste...could have been a tad more tender. Totally overpriced dim sum restaurant. Dim Sums were very small in portion. Quality was ok but not great. Service was very good but didn't justify the high price tags ( dim sum price ranged from HK$48~HK$88 ) at all. Will not recommend this restaurant. read more

Suckling pig and cod was very good. These two are must try items here. King prawns with mango is michelin recommended however it has a mustardy taste that i do not like. Fried bean curd with garlic tasted bland. Crispy chicken with spring onions which they said they are known foe is alright. Skin is extra crispy but it did not "wow" me. read more

Not sure why the rating is so low as this is some of the best dim sum I've ever had. The food comes out hot and beautifully presented with great textures and flavors. In particular, the char siu I tried here was probably the best I've had anywhere with a nice and crispy exterior and juicy and tender meat that was pepared to perfection. The ingredients they use are top notch as evidenced by the shrimp crepe with giant shrimp. The textures also shine in dishes like their congee which is creamy and delicious. The food is definitely a bit pricey, but I think it's well worth it for the quality you're getting. read more

Mediocre dim sum on the 5th floor of the mall w/ a spacious and modern decor. The usual dim sum dishes but no stand out flavors that blew me away. Besides the tea being good, everything else was meh. The hot sauce was not spicy at all. Boo. read more

Michelin recommended in a bit pricey. That's the way to think about this place. The dim sum and Cha Siu is great along with the service and hardware. I would away from some of the fried stuff but otherwise, they do a great job. 90+% higher end local folks here on a Sunday afternoon and you will need a reservation. Try it. read more

Food is pretty good. I had the roast bbq pork and crispy pig combo (off menu) and the siumai (sp?). Both dishes were good. The BBQ pork was my my favorite, but would reorder all the dishes. I have been eating my way across Hong Kong so have a lot of recommend places to compare too. This is a solid choice. read more

Yet another on my list of Michelin stared dim sum places in Hong Kong which I visited on a recent trip. This spot had a bib gourmand, and I was expecting a better place. Came for weekend dim sum, and the place was packed. They don't really have small tables, so one person took up an 8 top :) Ended up getting some dumplings (pork and truffle) and roasted duck and roasted pork. I got a small rice too. The duck and dumplings were okay, I'd had better around town. The pork was excellent. Not sure I'd come back with all the great dim sum options out there. read more

Best dim sum I've ever had. 5 stars Crispy bean curd cubes in spicy salt ($68 HKD) - coating almost like the coating of deep fried milk. Tofu consistency is smooth and if I didn't know it was tofu, I could easily be fooled into thinking it was something else. Crispy squid with spicy salt ($148 HKD) - tender squid. Super crispy. Lots of flavor. Honey glazed BBQ pork - I am not sure how much this one was. Lean, but incredibly tender. Comes with beans that look like natto, but glazed with the BBQ pork sauce. Steamed Black Truffle Dumplings with Wild Mushrooms ($52 HKD) - comes 3 in a order. Super intense mushroom flavor. One of my two favorite dishes of this meal. Deep Fried Spring Rolls with Shrimps and Mashed Garlic ($52 HKD) - Thin spring rolls. Lots of shrimp and garlic flavor. Really good stuff. Crispy too. Deep Fried Wonton served with Sweet and Sour Sauce - Crispy wontons. Good sauce. Imitation goose - a la Chinese gluten. Crispy on the outside. Delicious. Taro duck with applesauce - not sure what this one is called. It's got deep fried taro wrapping on the top, a layer of boneless duck breast underneath, and a layer of applesauce and apple bits on the bottom. I'm a huge fan of Peking duck, but this totally takes the cake. My brother doesn't like taro, and he knowingly had about four pieces of this. If I could, I'd bring it home with me. Mango and pomelo sweet soup, as well as mango pudding were delicious, albeit small. Mango pudding had more mango taste than the mango and pomelo. Almond tea - not actually a tea. More like a mildly sweet soup. Almond flavored milk with egg white drop. Subtly delicious. 4 stars Steamed Fish Head with Ginger and Spring Onion ($52 HKD) - super tender. Not particularly strong flavor though. Pork Knuckle and Ginger Stew ($82 HKD) - good sweet vinegar. Good portion for price. Pork knuckle had a touch of gristle. Pork was tender though. Hadn't stewed long enough in the vinegar. Not quite dark enough. Steamed Rice Flour Rolls stuffed with BBQ Pork ($48 HKD) - good, but BBQ pork wasn't as tender as the standalone BBQ pork. Chicken feet with ginger and green onion - quite tasty. I wish the chicken feet were a tad more tender, but for those who like their chicken feet with some chew, this one's for you. 3 stars Steamed Rice Flour Rolls stuffed with Crispy Dough Stick ($58 HKD) - crispy dough stick wasn't crispy enough. Siu Mai and Har Gow were nothing special. Their award winning four piece siu mai with steamed pig bun filled with molten egg custard was cute, and I heard the pig bun was tasty, but the siu mai, once again, was nothing special. All in all, 4.5 stars. Portions are a tad small, and prices are a bit high, but most of the food is outstanding and the service is incredibly attentive. read more

We came here for dim sum and it was probably some of the best I've had in my life. Everything was delicious, but it was crowded and we had to wait despite a reservation. We ordered a bunch of things we thought we would like, but one of my favorites was the turnip filled pastries. That was something I had never had before, and I loved it. We also got the usual bao filled with pork and some filled with custard. The dumplings were also delicious and I ate so much that I didn't have anything for the rest of the day. We had a lot of tea with our food and ended up spending almost 2 hours here just enjoying the ambiance. I would definitely go back when visiting HK. read more

Terrible service..took over 15 minutes for someone to take our order. Took over 30 minutes to get some of our food. The rest of our food did not come out so we had to cancel and left. No one came to check on. The food was mediocre but the price is high. Regretted coming here. read more

I like this restaurant because it is not too noisy like most restaurants in HK. Food is well prepared and presented. They have private rooms and also separated area for business dinner entertainment. The service staff are well trained. Hostesses at the door are polite and greet you with a smile...a little rare. Price is on the high end but price value is there. The only thing missing in a nice restaurant such as this one is cloth napkins, though they provide paper napkins on the table but it kind of cheapened the place. Had a pretty terrible experience here. Inattentive wait staff even by Chinese restaurant standards, which is fine if the food is good. It was alright, but very over priced. What sealed the deal was them completely forgetting the chicken dish we ordered and then trying to pawn off the mistake on the server, who they claim gave it to another table on accident. The manager gave little apology and said he'd remove it from our bill. He didn't. We spent forever trying to waive sow our actual waitress who never once checked on us or even made eye contact after taking our order. She did make an appearance at the end to collect the bill, and also lamely blame the server for the mistake, also offering no apology, while collecting the automatically added 10% service charge. Maybe dim sum is their strong suit, as others seem to rave about it. Since dim sum relies on absolutely no service, that wouldn't be entirely surprising. Different style of Cuisine, but Din Tai Fung is one floor down, charges no automatic gratuity, and provides great food and service. I recommend you go there or anywhere else. read more
