Just had a lovely dim sum lunch with friends at Kong Chiu Lau (港潮樓) in Tsim Sha Tsui and tucked away on the 1st floor of Harbour Crystal Centre on Granville Road. It's a solid spot if you're after decent, no-frills Cantonese dim sum without the usual chaotic crowds.
The food was genuinely tasty - nothing mind-blowing, but everything fresh and well-executed. We went for their special set lunch, which comes with a great mix assortment of dim sum classics (har gow, siu mai, char siu bao, etc.). Portions are generous, and it's perfect for sharing.
What I really liked was the vibe: the interior feels elegant with those big chandeliers giving it a touch of class, but it's still relaxed enough for a proper catch-up conversation. No yelling over noisy tables here - it's surprisingly chill for TST, especially at lunchtime.
Service was friendly and attentive (a nice change from some rushed spots), and the prices are super reasonable - way better value than a lot of the touristy places nearby.
Great for a casual meet-up with pals when you want good dim sum, a comfy setting, and no madness. Definitely adding it to my go-to list for easy lunches in the area! read more
