I was today-years-old when I learned there are multiple Matsuyas in Hong Kong. While the dessert business is known for their Japanese sweets, they also serve western-style desserts like tiramisu, brownie sundae, and panna cotta.
I decided to have the best of both worlds and ordered both a tiramisu and green tea warabimimochi. The tiramisu looked so fluffy and beautiful. The warabimimochi, on the other hand, wasn't as aesthetically pleasing, and I didn't like how bitter the matcha tasted.
My friend got the souffle, but it was undercooked, so they made another one for her. Aside from desserts, the cozy shop also sells Japanese tea and other cold drinks. The menus are in both Chinese and English. The items are appropriately priced.
I'd suggest calling in advance to see if they have availability since the restaurant can only hold approximately 16 patrons at once. read more
