This store has rude workers that act slow and they didn't give good customer service. They have 2 cashier registers but they only use one register. The workers took long to help me because they are usually doing things slow with every customer. They also look lazy because they just sit near the register or the back socializing and they don't act friendly whenever I went inside the store. Am always thrown back to my young teen years, shopping with my grandmother, whenever I take my grandson to a store he likes. The retail marketplace relies on young people and their interest in the latest trends in clothing and accessories, to be sure! As a budding fashion plate, Adored Grandson has honed his style and knows what he likes. He's fond of windbreakers and hoodies at present, which is how we ended up at Zumiez at the Camarillo Outlet Mall. The staff was friendly, though not very fast. They weren't that busy, but it took a while to get help pulling a jacket down from on high for AG to try on. The style of the shop is hip, edgy, with a bit of dark grunge thrown for good effect. There was a couch in the back part of the store that looks like it was acquired on a Dumpster-dive expedition. I had visions of new strains of cooties living in it! This is how I know I've crossed the age threshold far beyond the days of being tragically hip - when I notice these things. And so it went, AG was in his young teen heaven, and I dutifully handed over my credit card for his purchases. At least we got a free bag out of it, too. read more

Granted, they have obnoxious signs everywhere stating they have great deals...until you read the fine print on how you have to buy some expensive crap you don't want before you can get the discount you were lured in with. I understand though. Retail has no soul, bait & switch is king, that's fine with me. But when you find two pairs of shoes you're in love with and stride over to the cashier...who then tells you "Well yes you technically found a promotional pair...and yes, you technically found a clearance pair that would count for the 50% off...but no." Apparently you not only have to choose from both sections BUUUT your promotional pair also have to be significantly more expensive than the clearance pair or else it voids your ability to capitalize on the 50% off. I would never go back after the service I got there. I had only gone in search of shoes, because I have no taste for their hipster, commercialized, faux bohemian trash. Not to mention! The rude broad at the cash register didn't even take the sensor off my shoe! Now I have to go 40 minutes out of my way to walk back in and demand they remove the sensor...at which point they may or may not raise a fuss about "well, do you have a receipt?" And I'll reply, "Hell no I don't! I didn't know your incompetence was going to require me to bring these shoes back just to have the sensor removed!" .., this location is probably the most stocked Zumiez I've ever been to. Such a wide selection of men's & women's clothing/apparrel. As soon as my brother & I walk in, we were greeted by a cool salesman who was rockin' plugs/piercings. He was very helpful & attentive. Making conversation about anything & everything, I felt welcome right away. He was making suggestions w/out being pushy & didn't become a shadow tailing me uncomfortably. Beth (I believe was her name) was another sales rep that helped me out as well. She did a great job & made me feel @ home. My gf & I loved their RVCA & Obey selection, prices ranging from $19-$30 for shirts w/ designs I haven't seen anywhere else. I picked up a Feeding America Obey shirt, while Diane grabbed an Obey tank top. Great store all around w/ a great staff. Keep it up guys. Check em' out! read more

Sam at the Zumiez in Camarillo was extremely rude. I asked one of the associates if they had water bottles like hydro flasks and he wasn't sure so he asked the leader. And sams response across the store was "why would we have water bottles??". Very unprofessional and extremely poor customer service. read more

This Zumiez is probably one of the better Zumiez out there, for a couple simple reasons.. First and foremost, the staff here are super cool/friendly and very helpful! These guys communicate with you and they communicate with one another to make things happen for you. Not to mention, they're pretty good sales men too, they can talk up some confidence into you if you don't have any -- they're THAT good at selling. Secondly, the store is WELL stocked. You think all the other Zumiez are packed and cramped up wall-to-wall clothes? You haven't seen this one yet. This store is not only big, but it has a LOT of clothes. The deals are ok/decent for an outlet -- in retrospect, I think they may be an ordinary Zumiez now that I think about it. The prices weren't far off from an ordinary Zumiez, BUT that's ok.. they still had a couple good sales floating around and the staff made the visit worth while. They sourced out a couple labels I was looking for and made a good effort to find something I may like, which they didn't have to, but I appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll definitely keep this Zumiez in mind, the next time I'm looking for new product from the labels I like. read more

Really needing a zero star here! Son goes in to buy girlfriend a hoodie for Christmas. Turns out the sleeves are too long. Next day he returns to find the same clerk and "manager" on duty. He has the unworn hoodie, receipts and all tags. He's refused a refund OR replacement, the reason being, the price tag was separated from the garment. Yeah, it was a gift, Einstein! Was then told, among other things, his attitude was lacking, and "don't think you're gonna return this to another store, either!" Rude, condescending and confrontational beyond belief! In his haste he left behind the receipt and tags on the counter. We immediately returned to get them, but he was smirkingly told, "they were in your hand when you left." I went in today to pick up a couple of items for my grandson as I have many times in the past. I was extremely disappointed. I watched every single customer get greeted as they walked in the store and asked if they needed help while they shopped but not one person greeted me or asked if I needed help. I shopped in amazement as I just listened wondering if I was invisible. Well I get home and look at my receipt and the very girl that ignored me the entire time, Jen salesperson JK0880 got credit as for helping me. Not only was I treated very poorly I was followed around the store by a young security guard, which was very odd to me since I was only carrying a clutch and didn't have bags in my hands. Keep in mind I have spent a fortune in this Camarillo store over the past couple of years since my grandson loves their clothes and skateboards. I do have to say there was one very nice young man that was so pleasant and respectful by the name of German, cashier GV0553, he was the only reason I didn't put everything down and walk out of the store. If Zumiez cares about their reputation in Camarillo they should reconsider hiring people like this Jen, I had a horrible taste in my mouth when I walked out and my opinion of the store is forever changed. Maybe if enough people call the corporate office to complain about their poor customer service hopefully Zumiez will invest in training their employees. Visited this establishment with a girlfriend to buy some clothing; didn't find anything to our satisfaction. We went a few doors down for dinner at Los Arroyos and an employee came over a few minutes later with security and asked to search our bags. We obliged because we hadn't taken anything, the employee said "thanks" and walked away... it was very awkward and embarrassing for us seeing as how we hadn't stolen anything.
