Favorite restaurant. I'm from Alaska so boy do I miss high quality sushi options. Zuma at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas fills that niche. All you can eat sushi, not my vibe. This is also an Omakase restaurant and so the smells are devine! This time I was simply ALL in for high quality sashimi and caviar on my rolls. Spoiled much? It was my birthday. We got a last minute reservation here on a Saturday night and were lucky to get a seat are the sushi counter. Actually I couldn't have asked for a better seat. I gazed upon the variety/cuts of tuna and that was it for me. Otoro, Chutoro, and actually another cut I hadn't heard of and can't remember now. I miss chatting it up with a Japanese sushi chef so this was fun for me. I stuck to the fare right side of the sushi case while my dining partner dove into all the other S.T.U.F.F. I'm still swooning over the extraordinary quality and representation of all that I ordered. Typically pricey-worth every penny. Been dining here regularly, pretty much every time getting the chef's omakase experience with the upgraded Wagyu beef (try to save room for the dessert!). Great experience, only time it's been less than optimal is when there is a lag between courses. This has happened a couple of times before the dessert, once between one of the entrees. One time after the reservation was made by my host, the restaurant made a a mistake and thought it was for the next night, and gave us the option to wait an hour fo a table. We simply. A night or two later we returned, and this time they gave us a table immediately without a reservation even though they were very busy. Damn, this one hurts to write. I was told by a good friend to try this place out and let me just say, the decor and vibe of the place is very nice. I loved how the space was designed and it was very lively. Other than that, I can't really say much more than "meh" over it all. Service was okay and I will say it could have been better but you are somewhat hindered when you sit at the sushi bar because it almost feels awkward when your server has to talk to you from a weird angle. So I can't fault the servers for that, they did their best with the situation and they were very attentive. But okay, let's talk about the food. We did the premium omakase menu and while it was a lot of food nothing besides the lobster, the wagyu and the dessert were memorable. I swear I don't want to sound like some uppity snob, but none of this really felt like it was worth it. It's a total bummer because like I said earlier, a reputable source recommended this place and we both were just like "that didn't feel worth it." We had an amazing anniversary at Zuma. Ursha was a fantastic server and recommended the perfect dishes. We had the pork belly appetizer that melted in your mouth and then the spicy yellowtale sushi roll was probably the best sushi roll we've had. The black cod was cooked perfectly and was so flaky and fresh and then the spicy beef tenderloin was also amazing. We has the burning history drink which has an amazing presentation and delicious Lychee Martini and also the Carajillo and Espresso martini for dessert along with a perfectly cooked chocolate lava cake where the took the time to spell out happy anniversary in chocolate sauce and had a warm green tea banana cake with coconut ice cream (order both!) . Everyone around us was celebrating anniversary or birthday and I can see why as this was our best meal we have had in Vegas for years thanks to the amazing food and service by Ursha. I also want to thank Sari who we met at the Vail location of Zuma a couple weeks ago and helped us make our anniversary reservation and then the gentleman who was the Vegas manager Jedd Taal made sure we had the perfect night. By checking in with us as we completed our evening. We got such a wide sampler of their menu and we definitely know what to order next time. Courses came out immediately after another w attentive service. Everything we had was delicious. I've been to zuma twice now and it's definitely my go to spot whenever I'm in Vegas. It's got both a really calm and nightlife atmosphere which makes it a really good balance, not the mention the food is fantastic! I've found that the tempura dishes are mid, but their specialty dishes are divine. You can never go wrong with their sushi, but the seabass is next level. In my usual style, this review is super delayed. We had dinner here and I remember enjoying it and having a nice experience. It's a modern take on a izakaya I would say. Pretty interior and fancier than izakayas back home in Hawaii. The service was good and the food was pretty yummy. Prices weren't too bad for the Las Vegas strip too. We tried a little bit of everything from sushi, to robata grill sticks (pork belly, chicken wing w/salt and lime), to tempura and fried seafood (soft shell crab), to of course dessert. Seafood was fresh and the fried food was nice and warm. Dessert was refreshing and not too sweet which was a perfect ending to the meal. We had a great experience at Zuma. The atmosphere was amazing, lively, and upscale without feeling too formal. For a high end restaurant, I thought the prices were actually very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the service. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the salmon and yellowtail trio with caviar was easily the best dish of the night. If you're coming here, I highly recommend ordering it. It was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Another surprise was the seasoned potato dish. It sounds simple, but it was cooked perfectly and had incredible flavor. Definitely one of the best side dishes we tried. The service was friendly, the food came out at a good pace, and the overall experience was excellent from beginning to end. Tried the $168-per-person Omakase and was very disappointed. Many of the courses were simple items like sweet potato, corn, and dumplings, while the actual sushi was surprisingly limited. Nothing felt particularly special or creative for an Omakase at this price point.What surprised me even more was the dessert course -- there was an abundance of fruit, desserts, and ice cream. I would much rather see that effort and value put into the main courses and sushi instead of filling the end of the meal with inexpensive desserts. Another great dinner here. I had a colleague in town and last minute decision to have a quick dinner. No reservation made on a Tuesday evening. We walked in and were given a few options of where we can sit. Counter works well. We ordered a variety of items like the branzino, yellowtail, pork belly, tuna belly and Zuma did not disappoint at all. Amazing food items. Service was great as well. Wow! Wow! Wowwww! Our 7pm dinner reservation at ZUMA in The Cosmopolitan was nothing short of deliciousness. Note that it is $$$$, so we strategically ordered just enough to satisfy our tummies from being famished. Our late night plan was to also have room for late night secret pizza, too! But, wow. First impression....5/5!! We ordered about two plates per person and devoured it family style. Shout out to our server Maggie, as well as the sushi bar chef's, Mateo and Luis, for preparing the mouth watering rolls. Probably the best sushi I've had so far in Vegas!!! Our party of six pretty much ordered every item on the Maki Rolls menu. But, my top favorites were the Chirashi Maki, Argun Negi Toro Maki with Caviar, and Ebi Tempura Roll. Chef's kiss!!!! We also thoroughly enjoyed the Prime Ribeye, Roasted Potato, Shiitake Mushrooms, and cocktails. Our finale was the special Chocolate lava cake with gelato. I love Zuma! I've been to the Cosmopolitan location at least ten times, and I sit at the bar every visit. The bartenders are true professionals who always make me feel welcome and well taken care of. You cannot go wrong with Alyssia or Josselyn handling your order. They remember my name and treat me like a friend, which makes each visit feel special. My favorites are mostly the small plates. Bartender Sean introduced me to the roasted potato several visits ago, and now I have to order it as soon as I arrive in Las Vegas. It comes with a special butter that makes it an incredibly savory treat. The yakitori chicken skewer is delicious, and I also love the tempura prawn roll. Another nice touch is that the servers explain the ingredients and preparation of each dish as it arrives. Zuma can get pricey, but quality usually does. The atmosphere is dimly lit, modern, stylish, and exceptionally clean. The restaurant also appears to be very well staffed, which gives the servers and bussers time to communicate with guests and provide attentive service. Zuma remains one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas, and the bar staff is a major reason I keep coming back. read more

Very disappointing experience at Zuma Las Vegas. Before making our reservation, I specifically emailed the restaurant because the Omakase normally requires a minimum of two guests. I clearly explained that my husband is vegetarian and would not be having the Omakase, while I wanted to order the signature Omakase by myself. Their team confirmed in writing that this arrangement was okay, and I only made the reservation because of that confirmation. However, after we arrived at the restaurant, I was told that I could not order the Classic Omakase because it requires two people. The issue is not the two-person policy itself. If they had told me "no" from the beginning, I would have completely understood and simply chosen another restaurant. The problem is that I contacted them in advance specifically to avoid this situation, received written confirmation, planned my visit based on that confirmation, and then arrived only to be told that they would not honor what their own team had already approved. Whether this was an internal communication problem or an employee confirming something they did not have the authority to approve, that should not become the customer's problem. For a restaurant at this level, I expected much better communication, professionalism, and accountability. Extremely disappointing experience. read more

We're at the Cosmo so often that curiosity eventually got the best of us and we made a reservation for Zuma. We like to dine early, so the place was very quiet when we arrived. Even so, our server seemed to be in quite a hurry as she zoomed through the "dining experience at Zuma" and some specials. She was exhausting. The other men and women that assisted with service were great, immediately re-folding napkins, clearing dishes and re-filling water. I feel like once we said we weren't interested in one of the Omakase's or cocktails, our server lost interest in us. To be transparent, we don't love Japanese food. But we like steak and seafood so we were easily able to find things to order. We started with the softshell crab katsu ($27), which was two pieces of fried crab that were so fishy and unfresh tasting that we both left most of it on the plate. Off to a bad start. The food arrives as it's ready, so up next was a side of sweet corn (on the cob, $18). It was good. Probably the best thing we ate. Weird, right? Next came the 8-oz signature rib eye ($58), which had a nice flavor but unfortunately, arrived cold. Finally, the thing we were most looking forward to... the roasted 1.5 pound lobster with shisho ponzo butter ($91). This was really disappointing. There was a fair amount of lobster meat, but it was obliterated by the sauce... you could have been eating a sponge as there was just no taste of lobster at all. Here is the best thing and what we'll remember about Zuma... the walkway to the bathrooms has a fantastic view! And the bathrooms themselves are very pretty. So yeah.... the food is not worth the money but when you go to the bathroom, you'll see a nice view and some cool fixtures. Pretty dining room too. Food just didn't do it for us. read more

Hubby and I were staying at the Cosmopolitan for our anniversary weekend and I made us some reservations at Zuma. Since our flight into Vegas was later on in the day, we had no expectations about this place and booked it out of convenience since it was right in our hotel. After coming here, I can easily say that this is one of our favorite restaurants we've ever been to! THE MOOD: The vibe of Zuma is hip, trendy, and modern. It feels upscale as you walk in and the bar area is nicely lit and had great mood lighting. It's a great place for a date night, especially with the ambient lighting throughout. There's several spots throughout the restaurant where you can see food being made. We sat at the countertop and were so glad we did since it felt like we were getting dinner and entertainment right in front of us. THE FOOD: The food was exceptional! We ordered the following: - Salmon and Tuna Tartare with imperial oscietra caviar (10/10 on presentation. The chips that come with it were so tasty - the waiter brought out even more for us since we went through them so quickly). - Toro roll (super fresh, fatty, melt in your mouth toro) - Lobster tempura, takama, truffle and crispy rice (loved the crispy bites) - Kurobuta pork belly with yuzu mustard miso (my favorite dish of the night - fatty, sweet, savory) - Sweet corn with shiso butter and shichimi pepper (perfectly cooked and the butter throughout really brought out the corn flavor). - Lava cake (super decadent and the chocolate tasted super luxurious) - Strawberry rhubarb honey toast (refreshing and the cake was very moist) THE 'TUDE: I cannot express enough how much I appreciate good service and our waiter was just on point throughout the whole evening. Everything was timed so well. As soon as we were done with one plate, another one was right in the wings ready to be served to us. He came by to check on us at all the right times and was just really attentive without being overbearing. Zuma is a solid spot, but don't expect to be wowed walking in. The exterior blends right into the Cosmopolitan and is easy to walk past if you're not looking for it. Inside, the vibe is sleek and upscale without being particularly memorable. The food is good, not great. We were seated right next to the robata counter, so naturally we had to try something off the grill. The prime ribeye was well cooked and flavorful, and we rounded it out with the spicy tuna maki, which was fine but nothing you haven't had before. The real standout of the night was the sweet potato tempura. Perfectly crispy and paired with a chili goma dipping sauce that is genuinely excellent. I ended up dipping everything else on the table into it, and it paired with the ribeye better than expected. We finished with the green tea and banana cake, topped with coconut ice cream and peanut toffee sauce. It sounds incredible and it's beautifully presented with thin apple slices fanned across the top, but the cake itself falls a little flat on flavor. My tip: mix everything together, ice cream included. It makes a real difference. Price is exactly what you'd expect for a strip hotel restaurant. Around $170 for two, no alcohol. read more

We made a reservation for 9pm and were seated right away upon arrival. The restaurant is a bit more upscale vibes so I don't recommend wearin flip flops and shorts lol. Food overall was pretty good as long as you don't care about price since it was about 700 for a party of 4 with tax and tip. Therefore my rating for the foods will not consider the price. Seared waygu 7/10: this dish was really good and the sauce was definitely more soy saucy than ponzu. The quality of the meat was pretty good and it melted in your mouth. However, since the meat is so buttery I recommend sharing this dish since it could get tiring. Sea bass 7/10: this dish had so much more potential since the fish was cooked so perfectly. Cooked enough where it was still buttery and somewhat flaky. However the downfall was probably the sauce. I felt like it lacked complexity and it was just salty rather than having that umami taste I crave. Scallop 10/10: this was probably my favorite dish since I'm a sucker for scallop. The scallop is cooked so that it's a bit raw in the middle but the flavor profile was great. The scallop itself was so fresh. Grilled nicely on the outside for that firmness but a bit raw on the inside for the softness. Loved it. Calamari 7/10 I would say it's your typical calamari with that nicely battered outside and chewy inside. I would wish that there is a better sauce that comes with it so that you can dip. Either a soy sauce based sauce with yuzu or even a creamy mayo sauce. We did end up asking for a spicy mayo which rly put the dish together. Ribeye steak cooked to a requested medium 9/10: part of the steak was medium and the other half I would say is a medium rare. I'm glad some of it was medium since I don't enjoy rare as much but good thing half my table liked the rare. It came with sea salt which I liked and you also have the option of using their chili soy saice which was great too. The meat wasn't chewy and it was pretty tender to my liking (the medium side) so just be aware that if you order this, it does come more on the raw side. Toro carpaccio off menu item 10/10: amazing dish the fish literally melted in your mouth. You can really taste the quality of the fish. And all the toppings that come with it rly bring the dish together. The sauce isn't a refreshing sauce but it's more of a soy sauce based with a hint of lime. Pork belly 8/10: super delicious flavor and not overly fatty like other places. The sauce it came with was also really good. But honestly the marinade was already a good mix of umami and sweetness that I didn't even need the sauce! Matcha banana cake with coconut 7/10: not too sweet which I like. I just wish there was more evenness when it came to the banana and matcha part. 80% of the cake was banana. The matcha was the rest of it on the bottom. Having the coconut ice cream made the cake a lot more moist when eating it together. Other not pictured: Fried Tofu with avocado salad 6/10: basic dish and the salad didn't rly have any dressing to it. The fried tofu had a good seasoning to it but honestly nothing special Table side potato 5/10: it's just bake potato with some lime. Nothing memorable for me. Overall it's def a treat coming here. Great service from host to waitress. Food came out quick, was very flavorful overall. My favorite was the grilled tiger prawns and tuna nigiri sushi. The shishito peppers and spicy edamame were delightfully flavored as well. I did not care for the 8 oz ribeye steak mostly because of the sauce that the sliced steak was on top of. Ambience was lively and fun! The restroom situation was different and if there's anything I would change it would be that. The restrooms are 1 person use restroom, there is no sign that says male or female. If you look very closely then you would see a muted picture of what looks like a male and female next to the restroom but it was very difficult to spot. Kaitlyn and Lonnie took great care of us and made the whole experience even better. We started with a Japanese Paloma and a Salted Plum Margarita, and both were excellent. The sushi was probably one of the most interesting rolls I've ever had. It was an off-menu roll with fatty tuna, pickled cucumber, caviar, and a few other ingredients I honestly can't remember, served with a spicy ponzu sauce. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was seriously good. Then came the 10 oz American Wagyu skirt steak. Easily the highlight of the night and, without exaggeration, one of the best steaks I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and that char on the outside was unreal. Fabulous experience! We didn't think to make reservations so we gladly sat at the bar and I'm glad we did! Our bartender was so kind and friendly and truly enjoyable. We started with some drinks and sushi and ended up ordering more sushi because it was delicious! It was very busy but still intimate and comfortable. Found myself in Vegas and wanted to be sure to return to Zuma adter having visited Nobu om a prior visit. Wanted to eat some more amazing sushi and also try some other dishes ( robata, apps etc) Made reservations and was able to change to later time as we got stuck roaming the strip. Pulled up at our appointed time and were promptly seated.. Vibes are always good and lots going on from sushi bar to robata grill. Took some suggestions and opted for some rolls, robata by way of tiger prawn with yuzu and roasted potato with shiso butter (Not to be missed!!) Also, added in fried spicy todu with avocado salad and salmon / tuna tartare with caviar. Throw in some amazing drinks ( they are one of few bars to have an extensive Japanese Whisky selection - Hakushi 12 anyone? ) and you ve got a great night of food and drinks. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Highly recommend if you are in town and want some great sushi. IMHO Zuma way better than Nobu hands down!! read more

Went to eat Omakase, which we have experienced many other times. Do not waste your time at Zuma. Food was mediocre at best. Way overcooked lobster. Their idea of medium rare wagyu is medium, too many things burried in sauce (and none of were special). Waaay overpriced tourist trap. Would not recommend and would never repeat. read more

Just can't get enough of this place. It really makes me feel like I'm living inside of the show Sex & the City! The NYC feel, upscale, good music, elevated vibes. But the food is just other-worldly. I will come here for every special occasion. Still believe it is the best restaurant in all of Las Vegas. Jason, Anthony, Shaun, & Justin were all very helpful and just felt great to have such nice staff helping us have the best experience. read more
