    Lula Kabob Plate

This is pure deliciousness! Especially with their specialty sauce. I can't remember the name but it complimented the meal so well! It's slightly spicy and a bit lemony. The hummus was delicious of course I need to remember to buy a larger side of hummus to take home. The salad was ehh. Just basic side salad nothing wrong with it b it just not special enough. It's definitely a must try! They have a lot to offer

I tried this spot at a recommendation from a friend, and it did not disappoint! The menu is massive ranging from a variety of Mediterranean genre items to some Mexican items, even burgers, they have it all! I got the Greek salad + I added chicken. The salad was $19 and change, which kind of shocked me at first, but when I saw the portion it all made sense. It was massive, could've easily fed 2 people. The salad came with a bed of lettuce, diced peppers, Kalamata olives and feta cheese. They didn't skimp on portions of anything. I'm unsure if adding chicken changed anything but it also came with a decent sized size of hummus + pita and a drink! I had 1/2 the salad for lunch and saved the other 1/2 for dinner! Everything was flavorful and service was awesome. I will definitely return. Thanks for the great experience!

Solid offerings for the area. Ordered the chicken tostada salad which was fairly standard though a large portion. Team here recognizes regulars and is really friendly to all. Need to come back to try the other offerings; the kabob plate looked really good!

food is good here. good quality and not so expensive! i usually get the asian chicken salad,,, a little outdated that they call it the oriental chicken salad. i waited in line, ordered the food at 12:15 and didn't get the salad until 12:40. kinda crazy to wait 30 minutes for food. will probably not come here as often due to that

Chicken Kabob, Beef Kabob, and Tiger Shrimp Delight. Must try

I passed by Z's Place many times and never tried it out. When I arrived to place a Togo order, the employees were constantly sanitizing the restaurant and they were definitely following covid protocols. Customer service was great and everyone was very friendly. I was feeling Mediterranean and seafood so I decided to order the Chicken Kabob, Beef Kabob, and the Tiger Shrimp Delight. I have to say -- the food was beyond my expectations. The rice was not dry, the meat was tender, juicy, and crisp on the outside. The pita bread was grilled perfectly and the hummus went well with it. The salad was also refreshing and it was just perfect with the meal. I really enjoyed the Tiger Shrimp Delight with lemon and tortilla that came with the meal. The shrimp was grilled very well and the rice tasted very unique. This meal would pair great with beer. The food here at Z's is very good quality. I really look forward to trying other stuff on the menu next time.

Garlic sauce shrimp. Forgot to take a picture before I inhaled it!

Great food and great service! Prices are great! I highly recommend the garlic sauce shrimp, my fav!

We ordered wine by the glass and it was very good. For the meal we had the asparagus, chili, cornbread, pork chop, and sweet potato. Each course was impressive, with masterful flavor profiles and perfectly prepared. The timing of the meal was at an excellent pace. We never waited long for anything. Desert was the chocolate cake, which was ok but we saw picture of a layered cake on Yelp (with frosting) but this one was a basic cake. Still tasty but not what we expected...but we certainly take responsibility for that misunderstanding. Overall, a great experience. I hope to return to try the ribeye one day. I also wanted to try the burger but they told us that it was discontinued after only a very short run. Thanks to the Dunsmoor staff for making it a great experience!

I arrived early for my reservation, but the counter was still occupied due to a kitchen delay, so I had to wait at the wine bar, which was crowded and loud as well. But throughout this process, the staff at check-in was nice. They gave me 1 update, said I would wait 25 minutes, and then took me to my seat 10 minutes later. Communication was decent, and they made me feel welcome. The apology came in the form of 1 free sparkling wine drink, which was nice. Food: Good but not excellent and on the pricier side. Ordered the Albacore, which is a must, and that tasted really great. Got a Carolina Gold Rice with seafood, which was good, more like risotto, but much more watery; the seafood was fresh. Wish this came out with my main course. For the main course, I got the trout. The fish was fresh. It took a while for the order to come out. The fish skin was mostly crunchy and tasty, which is nice, and it came mostly deboned. The big down for me was that it tasted ok and the fish was drenched in oil, way too much oil. Overall, it was good, but not all of the dishes were a hit, and considering the cost, this place will give me pause before coming back. Ambiance: Not sure I would take someone on a date here unless I've been out with them a few times already. The acoustics in the space are just echoey and on the loud side. I had to wear my AirPods the whole time with either noise cancellation or transparency. They should really dampen the noise in that dining hall more. Also, there are long family-style tables in about 3 rows. I don't know how I would feel about that overall, but that is just me. I prefer to have my own table with my group. Lastly, parking is either street or valet. I think there's a valet, but you can park around the neighborhood, just be prepared to hunt a bit for parking on busy nights.

Still stands-up to the hype after all these years…read more If "Trendy" was a restaurant, Bestia would easily be in top contention, even after being around for more than a decade. That says a lot. Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. I would definitely come back because of how amazing Radu & Dani are. Years after the hype, the vibe is still very much happening at Bestia.

The place itself is very modern and nice. Overall the vibe it basically a Houston's-type place. And service was good. All of the food overall was very good. Nothing really too crazy. To me, the menu is a little... boring. But, I will say everything was tasty. We got the Cajun shrimp salad (which was simple and clean but tasty), a cheese pizza for the kids (which was good!), a brisket French dip (very tasty and a horseradish sauce with a LOT of bite), a vodka pasta (was good but it actually is TOO big a portion to eat by one's self), the Ahi Tuna frites (the tuna was good and served with a nice green sauce), and the grilled cabbage side (with brown butter and some pomegranate molasses--it was actually my favorite thing!). The key distinctive thing about Laurel Grill seems to be that a lot of things get cooked by that fire which really adds a nice smoky touch (like the shrimp and the ahi tuna and the cabbage). My only major complaint would be the fries were just okay. After a minute or two they weren't crispy anymore. As good as everything else was, I thought they would step things up with the fries but they were just average. Anyways, while I overall am not that excited by the menu, it definitely is a great place to go where everybody will be able to find something tasty to eat. The evening started off strong, as we stopped by during Hoppy Hour (around 9ish). There wasn't a wait, and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The front staff was nice and polite. She gave us the option of either a tall round table or a shorter rectangular table. We of course, opted for the slightly shorter (height-wise) rectangular table. Once we were seated, we were given the menu, and the waitress told us that we would be right with us. She stopped by to ask about drinks, and we opted for water. She dropped off water and came back with perfect timing because by then we were ready to order. I also love the simplicity of the menu. There really aren't too many options where you feel overwhelmed, but there are still enough choices to pick from. Shout out to the pastrami quesadilla, I didn't realize it had been swapped for a new menu item until I asked about it this time around, but I'll be waiting for its comeback! We ordered a few items: the mac and cheese balls, the Wagyu bone marrow burger with truffle fries, and a double smash burger with ribbed finger potatoes. We had to get the mac and cheese balls since it was Hoppy Hour! I also didn't realize that on Wednesdays, the double smash burgers are half off. I'll definitely remember that for next time. After we ordered, the food came out quicker than I expected. It was a nice surprise. I think the first item came out about 10 minutes after our initial order. The mac and cheese balls came out hot, which was great. The breading made them super crispy and gave a nice crunch that balanced really well with the softer, chewier mac and cheese inside. I was glad the inside wasn't too runny since that would have made it like lava! I didn't see a cheese pull this time, but next time I'll try again to see if I can catch one. It was a great start to the meal. The burgers came out shortly after we finished the mac and cheese balls. I totally forgot that the truffle fries came with sauce. I should have asked for the sauce on the side, but it wasn't a problem that it was added on top of the fries. It just made them get soggy a bit faster, but that's no problem; it just means I've got to work faster! The burger was good and came out super juicy. I asked for it medium, and it looked about medium, so no complaints here! I never realized before, but the bread was so fluffy... it was a super pillowy bun with a nice bounce to it. It definitely helped balance out the meatiness of the patty. The hint of tomato gave it a nice, refreshing bite and really helped cut through the richness of the meat. The onions also added a nice sweetness to the burger, which was appreciated. I also snuck a bite of the ribbed potatoes, and they were good as well. They were a bit crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside, with just a touch of saltiness. I also stole a pickle from the double smash and realized I probably should have asked for pickles on my burger, but I'll remember that for my next visit!
