What a wonderful bakery! After having lunch at Mazra, we crossed the street for dessert and ordered a pistachio berry croissant to share (and try out). It was so soft, flavorful and delicious. As good as Backhaus for me (and less crowded). Will be back to try their other food and drinks another time. It all looked good and the staff was very friendly and nice.

Clean location, friendly staff. Menus are printed and on the wall. Have variety of milk substitutes. Purchased A honey lavender latte not too sweet. Chai latte with almond milk which I loved. Tiramisu latte that tasted just like that. Pistachio latte a bit too sweet but good. Ube snickerdoodle has a hint of ube.. but the Ube croissant was a delicious! A must try again. Visit from 7/19/16 @8:20am.

Heirloom Tomato Bagel & Pistachio Bagel.

I never knew I needed tomato in my cream cheese bagel! I was skeptical on getting this because their menu is loaded with lots of interesting foods. I will say I'll be back to try more food and their pastries and desserts. The staff is very helpful and the vibes inside this place are super chill. I was going to takeout my stuff but this place makes you not want to leave. Go try it!!!

After coming across some drink photos from Zörek on yelp, I knew that they were a place that I had to check out. Once I finally got to visit them, they quickly became one of my favourite cafés. Luckily for me, they are located in my home city, just a few minutes drive from my house. Giving San Bruno a taste of the Levant (a historical and geographical region on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea that spans modern-day Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Cyprus, and parts of southern Turkey), Zörek's name is a nod to börek, the delicate, flaky phyllo pastry stuffed with fillings like mushrooms, potatoes, spinach or feta that is the specialty of the shoppe. The Levantine Bakehouse Café also serves baklava, gözleme (a traditional savoury Turkish flatbread stuffed with various fillings) and Turkish pastries. Located at a corner spot on El Camino Real at San Bruno Avenue, the coffeehouse is one of the few places on the street with a private parking lot, a spacious one. Inside, the small venue, with hardwood floors and green tiled counter, offers limited stool seating at a narrow bar-height table against the front window. They also have a front patio with tables and chairs. On the day of our first visit, I had to wipe lingering crumbs off of the window table where we sat. Not sure why, but although the café is open until 5 PM, they close the kitchen at 3:45 PM. As such, no hot food items are available for order for over an hour before closing time. Major bummer. Prepackaged sweets like ASSORTED FLAVORS of TURKISH DELIGHTs ($5.00) and BAKLAVA VARIETY PACKs ($6.00) are still purchasable after the kitchen is closed. DJ and I shared one of the latter with one each of traditional, pistachio and chocolate baklava. All three flavours were yummy, but the chocolate bordered being a bit too sweet for me. Zörek also delivers an exceptional coffee and tea programme, specializing in Levantine-inspired beverages. Heads-up, though - milk alternatives incur a $0.75 extra charge per drink. I have tried and highly recommend the iced versions of both the PISTACHIO MATCHA and HONEY LAVENDER MATCHA LATTE with almond milk. Initially, the nutty tea milk beverage didn't have much pistachio taste until the barista gave me an extra squirt of the flavoured syrup, which made a world of difference, YUM. The lavender of the floral-toned tea latte tasted like a nicely flavoured simple syrup, just how I like it. My bad - when I ordered the lavender refreshment, I neglected to specify the almond milk, but the barista happily made another one for me with the milk alternative and let me keep the original with real milk to give to my husband. DJ also tried the PISTACHIO LATTE, iced, and enjoyed the specialty espresso drink. I will mos def need to try the coffees as well...cuz, you know, I will keep returning again and again.

So good! Just found and love it here. Beautiful pastries, and delicious coffee drinks. All homemade syrup.

Honey Lavender Latte + Beef & Herbs Manakeesh

Best flavored iced coffee lattes in the bay with consistency. **Honey Lavendar Latte and their Ube Latte. I might have gotten other flavors.. but I can't recall. They have lovely bouqets from the Beloved Flower Garden, business on hand should you if you're looking to gift something for a loved one, got my man one from here. Their cookies/deserts are really good. I did make the mistake of eating the twice baked crossitants not realizing that those usually have almonds.. so be mindful of that. Their bagels - they get from a different facility not in house just FYI; I did ask about soy allergens which they couldn't confirm but I took a risk and got one of their High Protein bagel sandwich which was very good. And their Beef N' Herb Manakeesh is divine, I get one every trip. Service - great, ambiance - great.

Cream Cheese & Heirloom Tomato Bagel, Smoked Salmon & Labneh Bagel, Mint Lemonade, & Armenian Sujuk

Zorek is a hidden gem! We visited on a Sunday (late) morning and found it quite busy. The cafe itself was tiny and cute, with mostly (dog-friendly!) outdoor seating. The interior had cool green tiling on the counter, hanging plants, and a little stand with fresh flowers for sale. Ordering was convenient on the electronic kiosk. For drinks, I ordered the Mint Lemonade (so tasty and refreshing), but the caffeinated beverages looked awesome, as well. For food, the 3 of us ordered the Pistachio Berry Twice Bake Croissant, Smoked Salmon & Labneh Bagel, Cream Cheese & Heirloom Tomato Bagel, and Armenian Sujuk to share. The Pistachio Berry Croissant was unreal! The outside was perfectly flakey and the inside was so gooey and delicious. The bagels themselves were mediocre (I always have low expectations for California bagels), but the filling was great, especially the smoked salmon and labneh. The Armenian Sujuk (pizza) as very tasty, and was also great leftover the next day. Service was quick and friendly. Would happily return for more!

Zorek had some amazing reviews on Yelp, so we came by for a quick bite to start off our day. It's a small cafe with a few outdoor tables available. * Beef & Herbs Manakeesh $14 - This flatbread is one of their more popular items and has a great flavor to it. I guess they used to include some kind of beet color item in a container but ours didn't have it unfortunately. * Smoked Salmon & Labneh Bagel $12 - This bagel sandwich looks just perfect in its container, along with the pickles, egg, and olives. * Original Milk Cake $7 - A light and tasty cake to close out this meal. They do have a nice variety of beverages, but we didn't get to try any on this trip. We'd go back though!

Super cute cafe with good coffee and outdoor seating. We came by after landing at SFO early and ordered multiple coffees. Everyone really enjoyed their different flavored lattes. I got the tiramisu latte, which came with a little lady finger cookie. We didn't try any food, but the bagels being made in front of us looked delicious!

I absolutely loved everything about this place!! We came around 10 am and the place was packed with a line almost out the shop. They have a self-ordering kiosk with some menu items but no specialty items. Barista was friendly and had some great recommendations. We tried the Iced Pistachio Latte, Iced Salted Caramel Latte, and an Iced Tiramisu Latte. The coffee flavors were fantastic with house-made syrups and flavorful whipped cream topped on each beverage. The baklava trio was definitely a must try. Food was great here with fresh ingredients in each item. Will be looking forward to coming back and trying more menu items.

I'm glad to finally tick this place off of my list. Being a corner shop, it should be visited more often, but I just keep on forgetting. The shop is pretty small, with some bar level counter on the side for standing room, you got a view of the bagel bar, a table full of Turkish treats, and a side shelf of fresh bouquets. Some outside seating without much barrier from the dust and smog of El Camino Real. Not the outdoor view I wanted, so my visit is more of a grab and go. I'm very curious about the food items here. I only came in for one small treat and my most needed caffeine fix. Got a spinach pastry and a black sesame latte. Pretty much on any of their specialty coffee, they have a matcha version of it. When I remember to turn into their lot again, I'm planning on trying their cardamom match or pistachio matcha. Maybe topping it off with a bagel if I want the calories, the spinach pastry tastes alright but held on like a limp d___. Not my type of pastry.

Ginger Pull Apart, Pistachio Matcha, Cardamom Spice Latte
Elaine Y.

Walked down to Zorek to give it a try and it was pretty good, but there were definitely areas of improvement in my opinion. Given its size, we decided to snag a table upon arrival but given we had never been before, it would have been helpful if a couple laminated menus were available. Eventually boyfriend just told me dealer's choice so I got us a ginger pull apart since almost every pastry was sold out and a zataar and cheese manakeesh to have a savory balance. The ginger pull apart was pulled out the pastry case but wasn't warmed or offered to be warmed and as such, it was hard, dry, and not great in that state. There were moments where I could tell it had potential but the texture was just off putting. As for the drinks, my cardamom latte was delish! Boyfriend's pistachio matcha was interesting...not sure how we felt about it. The matcha was the stronger of the two flavors. The flatbread took a bit of time to come out but it was really tasty! It was a little annoying having to get up and check periodically on the status of this dish though. Not sure the purpose of ordering "for here". Overall, I will be back. It's great to have a tasty cafe within walking distance that's not just a Starbucks.

Matcha flavor was okay, service was fast, there are stools inside and chairs and tables outside, there's also a lot to park in.
