    Portokalopita (10 stars)
    Laura C.

Came here on Wednesday night for an after work dinner. Was seated immediately and our server Alex came over right away to take our drink order. While waiting for the drinks we had some time to look around and see how pretty this place is as well as nice calming music playing. After our drinks came we ordered an appetizer and entire. The appetizer was this awesome flamed tableside cheese that was absolutely delicious. The entree was incredible but the star of the show was this in house made dessert Portokalopita an absolute must try. One of the best desserts I've ever had. My night was a definite 5 stars and I will make sure to be back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you Alex for a great experience. You made the night that much better.

We were frequent flyers at Zorba's many years ago when we lived in far North Dallas. We no longer live nearby but we're in the neighborhood and decided to visit. Unfortunately, the food was not nearly as good as we remembered. Just average. The saganaki was excellent, but the souvlaki was tough and dry. The Greek potatoes and the gyro meat could've been cooked more. It may have been an off night, as it was not very crowded.

Zorba's Greek Cafe in Plano is the best place to go if you want authentic Greek cuisine. From the Salonika Pepper and Saganaki to the deliciously fresh, handmade desserts like, my favorite, Portokalopita. A refreshingly moist orange cake with a sweet light glaze. YUM! The service is stellar and we've been lucky to have Ricardo almost every time as our server. His knowledge of the menu is legendary and he got us hooked on the Salonika Pepper appetizer....although, you can never go wrong with the Saganaki. It's a real crowd pleaser OPA!!!! Zorba's is conveniently located in the Preston Parkway Center. Close to Baylor Hospital and the President George Bush Turnpike. Go Get Your Greek On!! OPA!!

We came by here for lunch. I went with the Gyros salad. The Gyro meat was delicious and the highlight of the dish as the salad was pretty basic. It featured iceberg lettuce and not much else (e.g. 2 olives total on the salad). My husband went for the Gyro platter. The meat on his dish was also delicious, but it was the way the potatoes were prepared that seemed to top the dish. The ambiance of the place is rustic and hints at its Greek roots. Our server was friendly and the foot came out quickly. We saw other items on the menu that we'd like to come back another time to try. It also appeared they have a place for live music and that could make for an interesting dinner out.

Awesome food and service by Ricardo was amazing! The best Greek food in the DFW area. Highly recommend... fantastic appetizers, lamb chops & octopus. Baklava cheesecake is delish !

Great spot for a tasty filling meal! We love Greek food and this hit the spot! Walking in, everyone is super friendly! We got sat right away. Service was quick and friendly! Our server gave us some great recommendations! We started with the beets, the trio, and the falafel! All were great in the palette! Then we got the Saganaki and a gyro salad followed by baklava and a cheesecake baklava! Mmmmm!!!! Two of my favorite desserts rolled into one!

The Grecian Chicken platter was below average. They gave a lot of salad. The rice wasn't very good. The chicken was dry. Would go for Little Greek instead.

Delicious food at a very reasonable price! You certainly get a ton of food and will not leave here hungry. The grilled octopus was really good. The slices were really thick and full of flavor. I typically hate falafel, but I tired it here and it's not that bad. Certainly still will turn my nose to it but that speaks volumes if I didn't choke when I tried it here. The service was really great. Excellent little spot for a small work meeting. Not to loud and fancy enough.

3 stars is Okay in Yelp's world, so three stars it is. This place is just okay. Almost would go to 2 stars ("Could've been better"). Space is clean and comfortable. Food is hit and miss. The dolmas are awful. Stuffing is very earthy beefy tasting, and the sauce has little lemon taste (or the heavy taste of the filling prevents tasting the lemon). The chicken was good but parts overcooked and hard/dry. How can you do that to a chicken leg? Gyro meat was good. Not great, but good. If you have no other Greek choices near you, then this is acceptable. That's about it.

My niece is a half greek and wanting to eat greek food. Our friends recommended this place so we tried it out. Food is delicious. Waiter super friendly, considering we came 30 min before they closed. The place is very "greek" which is super fun. It's clean and cute. We will def come back again.

The sauces are amazing - tzatziki, hummus, baba ghanoush, and more. I personally love the chicken cooked in a yogurt sauce, roasted cauliflower, and chickpea moussaka as my top standouts, but truly there are too many delicious things to name. I love how many chicken options there are as someone who isn't crazy about beef or pork. There is also falafel and plenty of beans for your vegan/ vegetarian friends. There were markers for allergies / preferences on the labels, but I didn't attend too closely as I don't have dietary restrictions. They have tasty rice pudding topped with pistachios and fresh fruit as something sweet to pair with your meal. I enjoy the lentil soup for dipping pita bread in. All you can eat buffets are always the best for getting to try everything and making everyone in your party happy. It's a bit on the expensive side (around $25 per person before tip), but it's totally worth it for special occasions. Within the last year they've redone the seating inside, but the food quality has stood the test of time!

So he said it was over $84 for three people. I complained a little to him about it and went on, THEN my wife heard the lady next to my male cashier charge someone the $25 flat with no tax!!!! I of course went and asked her WHY???? She said because the other guy paid with cash.... There is not tax!!!! I said you mean a credit card fee right?? She said NO.... If you pay cash there is no tax!!!!! I'd like the Great State of Texas to look into this one. I bet the comptroller would like to know about this!!! TBH, I really don't think the other guy probably even paid cash. It felt like a hate on whitey move to me. THIS PLACE IS SHADY.

I came here with family to celebrate a birthday and they more than delivered. The ambiance was nice, not too loud and with a classy look. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I had some experience but also leaned on the staff for guidance. I would say my top three personally were the: lamb kebabs, Iraqi Quizi and the Lehmajuhn(flatbread pizza) The Quizi might have been the best part of the meal and a whole party in my mouth. I'm also a sucker for good hummus & baba ganoush and I was just about ready to lick the bowl clean. I have only had Ezme at one other place, and this was definitely better. I always love baba ganoush and this was so good, especially with the warm bread. The family meal for 4 was plenty of food. All the meats, including the chicken items because a lot of time those are over cooked. The lamb tikka, and sheeh tawook were my favorites, but I did enjoy them all. The desserts were a miss for us over all. The ice cream was on the icy side and not as creamy, kunafa was ok but I've had better. The baklava was like any baklava you can get, so not bad. It is slightly pricey but worth it in my opinion. Nice place that can accommodate larger parties, but also has some booths for intimate date night. The meat is also halal so a great option for anyone that needs that.

The music is nice and you can tell they really focus on creating a beautiful Mediterranean experience. The food is completely incredible and very unique. This is not your average Greek pita place. This is a restaurant that could easily be in Turkey for some European country. We started with the Mezza platter ( $29) - which included 6 different dips. It's pricey for an appetizer, but it is definitely worth it because it's so unique and flavorful. It was probably my favorite thing that we ate. Everything felt just a little bit overpriced for what it is. My baseline comparison is Hillstones and R&D, and this is definitely Hillstone's pricing, but not the same experience overall. My wife and I shared the lamb shank and the falafel platter and also had a side of cauliflower (which was incredible). My 3 year old had the kids item which was $18!?. it was all very very good. My wife and I had a glass of wine and the average price was $18. They also had no descriptions of what style of wine it was e.g. Cabernet Sauvignon. When I asked the server, he just recommended the Caymus. The service was transactional and something you would get at most fast casual restaurants. I get that a lot of the servers are not professional servers. For the mezze platter, it would've been helpful to have an explanation of what was on it. Basically they brought the food. They took our order and that was it. Parents: they have one kids meal which included four chicken kebabs and a side of either rice or fries ($18). The price felt very steep for a kids meal. I probably would rather have had half the portion size for half the price.
