Dr. DiNoto is a wonderful physician. I have been to him twice now and each time he is fast and efficient and very kind in not a fake way.

She made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way, talking me through everything. Dr. Karmali is extremely kind, attentive, gentle, humble, and calming. She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. However, when I went online to MyChart, I saw multiple openings between now and the end of the year. I ended up making an online appointment with Dr. Karmali for early December and cancelling my phone-made appointment with another doctor at Swedish. I am so excited to go see Dr. Karmali again soon!

After my motorcycle accident in 2009 Dr. Karmali checked up on me and worked with my medical records from Harborview to continue with my pain management care. To this day she still works closely with me on this care and has been very good at keeping an eye out for my health and well being and continues to work with my pain management doctor at Harborview. Dr. Karmali set me up with MyChart (available to all Swedish patients) when I moved back to WA and through that I am able to discuss issues with her without having to make an appointment to go into the clinic (I'm already there enough as it is!) and she is quick to get back to me usually same day but definitely within 24 hours. She even responds on her days off and to me, that is complete dedication and proves just how much she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to a couple of friends and they love her as well. Dr. Karmali is very knowledgeable and caring. If she is unsure of something she will investigate the issue to ensure that you get the best possible care. She is just an amazing doctor and an even more amazing person.

Be advised: you're going to get unexpected charges. I was…read moreexplicitly advised by their customer service liaison, Kim, that if I want to avoid surprise billing in the future, I should route prescription refills through the pharmacy and essentially avoid interacting with my provider. This was especially troubling given that I was not prescribed refills sufficient to last the year. This advice came only after I received an unexpected bill following a preventive/wellness visit. During the appointment, I briefly mentioned ongoing conditions as part of my medical history and asked routine questions about prescriptions I already take. At no point was I told that reviewing my medical history would convert my preventive visit into a separately billable office visit. I was ultimately charged for both a preventive new-patient visit and an additional established-patient visit for the same appointment. When I contacted billing, I was repeatedly told the coding was "accurate," and that it did not matter that I was never informed or given the opportunity to consent to a separate visit. I was also told that preventive visits are essentially "cookie-cutter," and that discussing things like labs or existing conditions is not covered. I was never informed during the visit that mentioning my health needs would result in extra charges, nor was I given the option to schedule a separate appointment. This practice shows little regard for informed consent or care beyond a checkbox wellness exam. Patients should not have to guess what will trigger unexpected costs--or be told to limit communication with their provider to avoid being billed. Transparency matters in healthcare, and I hope this practice significantly improves how it communicates billing expectations so patients can make informed decisions.

Just not a good experience. Medical equipment and techniques are dated and incorrect (blood…read morepressure measured with stethoscope and manual interpretation ... in 2025). My vital health measurements were incorrectly transcribed, leading to wrong health data being added to my file. Doctor wanted to use an iPad with an AI note-taking "app" which is an insult to patient confidentiality and his own profession. An overall lack of interest, empathy and excitement about health and the patient in front of them is simply disappointing.

I will have to concur with the other reviewers, Dr. White is an awesome doctor…read more I have been going to Polyclinic for almost 8 years. Dr. Tomberg was my doctor at the time and he was just amazing. Sadly he left to start a practice closer to home and that left us patients wondering if there will ever be a doctor that would be as kind, caring and patient as he was. And there was! Dr. White! I tried one doctor before Dr. White, I don't remember her name but I did not like her. She was cold and dismissive and I just noticed she is no longer there anyway. I was starting to look for a family doctor elsewhere, but thought I would give it another try since I was still seeing Dr. Zook (dermatologist). I finally saw Dr. White for a general check-up and he so warm and friendly when we met. Although he is a guy doctor I feel very comfortable with him and that's not very common. Dr. White is very thorough it seems and his explains his diagnosis in lay terms so I understand what's going on, he even goes as far as drawing pictures. Anyway, I'm suddenly wondering if I should even post this. Once people get wind of awesome docs like Dr. White it starts getting hard to see him. But he totally deserves all the positive referrals!

UW Medicine Primary Care at Belltown - Bad "doctors," bad people. I have to learn how to trust doctors again after my experiences with my spinal surgery and the UW.

Things I've been diagnosed with by Virginia Mason after resident PCPs at the UW said I was faking…read morethe head, neck, and back pain I suffered from not even 6 months out from a failed neck surgery that resulted in multiple government investigations and the firing of my spinal surgeon: Chiari brain malformation, missed dozens of times by every UW radiologist and neurologist I ever encountered. Utterly inept. Spinal cord damage Occipital neuralgia, a painful condition that is described as debilitating by all credible sources. The UW wanted to stop all treatment and pain care: if they had been successful, I would be screaming in bed all day, every day, instead of living my life. They were trying to hurt me. Thoracic scoliosis (also missed by every single UW employee, even though it was glaringly obvious to even a layman in my imaging) Several missed Tarlov cysts in my spine I was told I need an almost complete surgical ribcage reconstruction due to numerous abnormalities likely stemming from further discovered abnormalities in my spine and pelvis. I had 100% government disability in addition to my very recent failed neck surgery: still, untrained, unspecialized doctors told me I was lying for attention. Hilary Iskin even told me she didn't bother to look through my chart, but had still decided I was faking it based off of pure prejudice and preconceived notions. David Rink used past sexual violence committed against me as psychological "evidence" that I was fabricating my profound and extensively documented health conditions, and put fraudulent and libelous information in my chart. Both of them refused to make any referrals for me to speak to specialists - they even refused to refer me to an orthopedist after my spinal surgery. They hurt and stymied me and my family. The fact that I have been violently raped (with legal proceedings) made David Rink inherently suspicious of my ability to report honestly about my body. This is blatant and insidious misogyny, and Rink should lose his ability to access the charts of any female patients for the rest of his life. He should not have the ability to work with any victims ever again. He should not be in medicine. Hospital staff asked me about the rape, and Rink pounced on that information - I never would've told him I was assaulted, as he had already raised his voice at me by this point for asking questions about his proposed "treatment" (only antidepressants, which time.com says is a toxic, widespread, and misogynistic practice that sexist doctors use to invalidate disbelieved chronically ill women). Sexual/psychological history is supposed to be protected information in patient charts. I feel violated a second time, as he used my assault that he learned about without my knowledge or consent to revictimize me, all because I had the gall to have been a victim, and to have trauma, pain, and a medical history that he wasn't competent, integrous, or academically curious enough to decipher. I believe he is hateful, profoundly judgmental, sexist (an accusation I take seriously and have never before levied against anyone), and deeply dangerous to the well-being of anyone he doesn't personally understand ... which will be many, as he's still in training. Iskin is the sort of woman who says she champions women's rights, but is actually a judgmental mean girl - she was even weirdly passive aggressive about my skirt. Please, if you're a woman, consider a different doctor. She's stereotypically medically misogynistic and does not believe women's pain. Despite having 9 weeks to prepare for my appointment, she read nothing about me, and then declared nothing was wrong because she saw nothing (!!). Her medical neglect and malpractice snowballed into the rest of the abuse I suffered at the UW. Her cruelty, laziness, and abject lack of care or consideration changed the course of my life. I wonder what it is about me that made Iskin decide to dismiss me entirely before even speaking to me. My age? My sex? My autism? My disability? ... we'll find out in court. The UW constitutionally changed how I feel about doctors: I was diagnosed with C-PTSD by a therapist who specializes in medical trauma. I feel so much fear that I no longer go to appointments without an advocate, which has changed my life significantly as I'm disabled and have many regular appointments. I'm confident I almost died multiple times during a string of UW hospitalizations involving spinal procedures with major complications. The UW is a misogynistic and incompetent organization with residents who hurt, maim, and kill. At the encouragement of my new medical team, I'll be suing, and speaking publicly about these "doctors" and the UW for the rest of my life. More in my previous reviews. (Don't listen to the reviews on the UW Medicine website - you can't submit reviews online and won't find a single physician rated under 4.8, it's corrupt. Turn to healthgrades, where these doctors have a 1 or a 2 rating.)

Once again! Guess what - it also had a website error (this time "Missing/invalid email address" - there was no email address field). Tried it repeatedly over a week and a bit to give them time to fix the issue. Never got fixed, same error every time. So I called them repeatedly - their office was often closed too, and eventually someone answered and told me they can't help, but tried to transfer me and couldn't. So they gave me an 877 phone number to dial - called it, kept getting disconnected after 10 seconds. Called back the first number, got a second number to try (the operator still couldn't transfer me - what kind of show are these folks running?). Eventually the second number worked and I provided credit card details. The operator said she couldn't give me a confirmation of payment, so this saga may not be over yet.
