Between caution cards for guests, dietary notes, and team communication when navigating their top of the line facility, you can rest assured that your pet family member will receive top of the line care with a presidential level detail! I boarded my dog Mishka here while attending my sister's funeral one of the most difficult times in my life. The photos they sent showed Mishka looking terrified and unwell, but they kept saying she was "doing great." I asked four times for my emergency contact (my nephew, who has a close bond with her) to visit and check on her. They denied every request. I also asked that she be walked, and they didn't cooperate. I noticed in two or three playtime photos that she was on a leash, and when I asked why, they said it was for her safety because she's a jumper but isn't this supposed to be a place designed for dogs to play? When I picked her up, she was dirty, had visible signs of diarrhea, and her ribs were showing. A vet confirmed she had lost over 13% of her body weight and suspected stress from boarding as the cause. At first, the facility said they would review covering the vet bill then later refused. Instead of taking responsibility, they focused on silencing my experience.

The process is typical for Camp Bow Wow of requiring new-camper interview prior to board/day camp. The interview process requires the pawrent to stay at the facility approx. 30 minutes while your pups' temperament/socialization skills are evaluated. If given the green light, pup is required to stay for a few hours of play. Staff is very helpful and caring towards the pups. They are also very efficient with the check-in/out processes. The facility seems clean and well -organized. There is an adjacent parking lot. Reservations and sharing records is now very easy via the Camp Bow Wow app, which also allows you to view your pups while they are in the playrooms and establish reservations with any of the camp Bow Wow locations. This location is quite a drive for me, but I have yet to find any other place who I trust to care for my precious pups when I have to be away for several days!

When I picked him up, his toenails had been cut down below the quick on multiple toes and were bleeding profusely. This indicates a severe lack of care and training, compounded by performing a painful procedure without owner consent. I complained to the staff immediately about the pain and distress this caused my puppy. Incident 2: Mismanagement of Play and Unapproved Confinement Despite the initial injury, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and brought him back. I picked him up to find he had been isolated and crated for the final three hours of the day. The staff claimed this was because he was "targeting a puppy." I reviewed the video footage they provided and confirmed that the behavior they labeled as "targeting" was clearly rough, energetic play--not aggression. For a professional daycare facility, misinterpreting normal puppy play and confining him for three hours instead of actively managing the group or separating him into a smaller, supervised area shows a complete lack of necessary skill and accountability. The combination of causing a preventable, unauthorized injury and then failing to provide the core service (socialization and supervised play) demonstrates a serious lack of professional care and judgment. I requested a full refund for both failed services. As you can assume, hiring a complete stranger off an app to house sit usually doesn't work out. Dory also doesn't do well in group play settings, which leaves a lot of traditional boarding facilities out the question as well. Due to a last minute trip, I had no other option but to board her - and that's when I found PetSuites! PetSuites has individual play/walk options for those pups being boarded who don't do well in group play settings AND they also have "townhome" Suites which are bigger spaces with less intimidating gates. This was HUGE to Dory and me. Every time I pick her up from her stays, Dory is more excited/interested in running around and smelling all the toys/treats in the lobby than seeing me - which is the sign of a happy pup who had a GREAT time with no separation problems. The employees always tell me at check out that they argue who gets to watch over Dory because they all love her so much. When she gets home, she sleeps for the rest of the day. People always say that nobody is going to love your pet the way you do, but it's reassuring to know that even with the amount of dogs they have in their facility, they genuinely love on every dog in there like their own. Additionally, I boarded her over Christmas and they even decorated the Suites to have a fireplace/stockings/wreath wallpaper AND sent me a picture of Santa with Dory. Our family loves Fetch!  We get the best care from Fetch them when our family goes away.  It is so…read morenice that we can stay in the comforts of our own home and not be dropped off with a bunch of strange dogs barking at each other.   All of that noise really bothers my sister, Skye.  She has high anxiety with strangers, change of locations, loud noises, thunder...basically everything!  When Brittany comes in to take care of us, Skye is at ease.  That RARELY happens.  But since our first meeting, Carolina and Brittany did all of the right things to make my sister feel so comfortable.  I am more easygoing...as long as you are throwing a ball for me, I am happy! We get our food, water and medicines on time.  Our time is filled with hugs, playing ball, lots of attention and fun walks.  After each visit, Fetch! posts an update to our parents to tell them what we did, how we behaved, the path of our walks and even when we pooped!  (SO EMBARRASSING!) One of those dogs, Indy, turned out to be dog aggressive, and at one point I was very close to returning her because I simply didn't know how to manage her behavior. Jason completely changed that for us. He helped me understand Indy's behavior, recognize her limitations, and, most importantly, learn how to put her in situations where she could be successful. He was also realistic with me. Indy was never going to be a dog-park dog, and he didn't promise that she would be. Instead, he helped us work toward a much more meaningful goal: allowing her to comfortably and safely be around the dogs belonging to our family and close friends. We always joked that Indy believed in quality over quantity when it came to her friendships. Because of what Jason and Canine Scholars taught us, Indy was able to live a long, happy, and low-stress life with our family. I will always be grateful for that. Fast forward 13 years, and we adopted a new puppy, Donut. It had been so long since we had a puppy that we had completely forgotten how much work they can be! Add in the fact that Donut is a Great Pyrenees, and all of those independent, stubborn Great Pyrenees traits came shining through. I reached back out to Jason, and one of the first things that impressed me was that after 13 years, he still remembered Indy. Donut went through training with Canine Scholars, and the difference has been incredible. Jason worked with her on everyday manners and commands like recall and "place." Before training, getting Donut to come inside when called was nearly impossible. We would literally end up chasing a giant puppy around the yard trying to get her inside. Now, her recall is fantastic. She also walks beautifully on a leash, to the point that even my young daughters are able to walk her comfortably. For such a large dog, that gives us so much confidence and makes everyday life with her much easier. What I appreciate most about Jason is that his training isn't about trying to turn every dog into the same type of dog. He understands their personalities, breeds, strengths, and limitations and teaches owners how to set their dogs up for success. Thirteen years and two very different dogs later, we are still incredibly happy with Canine Scholars. Jason had a huge impact on the life we were able to give Indy, and now he has helped us build the same kind of strong foundation with Donut. We continue to recommend Canine Scholars to our friends and family without hesitation. We had very specific requirements for our girls due to age and personalities, the staff did not blink an eye. They said no problem and it wasn't. Our girls were happy there, well cared for,and attended too. These last kennel we used they came home dehydrated. The property is well made use of, exercise areas, play areas for different sized animals. The sleeping areas are clean, temperature regulated, and roomy. Robin is an efficient and organized business woman with whom my husband and myself felt very comfortable leaving our special girls there. We had a full tour and the new plans were explained. We do not kennel the dogs often so when we do I want to be able to have fun and know the girls will be fine. We were referred to this kennel and everything promised was delivered.
