I have 1 1/2 year old Standard Poodle named Splendor. I hired a trainer who unfortunately did not work out due to illness. She really only learned a handful of basic commands. But she was still not the dog I needed her to be. I found out about Keen Dog Trainers and decided to check them out. I was really very nervous about investing so much money in training and being disappointed again. Jenna came to my house and I basically asked he to level with me. She wasn't offended and understood my concerns and put me at ease. I enrolled Splendor in the 3 week immersion program. I was so very pleased with the way Jenna formed a working relationship with Splendor and with me. I was pleased to receive more updates, pictures and videos than I expected. Jenna was great. Splendor was excited to see her each Monday morning. I knew Splendor was well treated in her care. Splendor is basically finished with her training and I am so happy to report that Splendor is now the dog I dreamed of having. She is calm, she listens, I can control her, and other seem to enjoy having her around. The big caviot is that my 5 year old granddaughter can control give her commands and Splendor listens. I can't say enough about Jenna and Keen Dog Training. I appreciate the training and philosophy of Keen Dog Training.

Keen Dog is the best dog training ever!! We had Brittany take our a little over 1yr old Jake for 2 weeks. He was close to 80 pounds at the time and would pull me on the leash! The minute he saw another dog, he would go crazy barking and run after them and we would have friends over and he would want to run with the kids and didn't realize his own strength and several times collided with small children. He came home a NEW dog! Yes, we had to be consistent to work with him from what Brittany taught us but he is now almost 2 and we just moved to Nashville, TN and I can take Jake on walks without his leash in a neighborhood full of dogs and children!! Every single person comments on how well he is trained and I cannot say enough about how much using Keen has changed our lives and our relationship with Jake! He is now part of the family and we can take him almost anywhere!!

Ashe at 6 months of age can be a bit of a handful , but Lindsey took the time to understand his behavior and tailored the training to his needs. After just two weeks, we noticed Ashe's confidence soar. Ashe is now much better behaved at the park, and he's responding wonderfully to commands like "sit," "place," "heel," and "come." This is the second dog I put through Off Leash K9 Training, and they truly help build trust between you and your pup. It allows you to take your pup into the world and enjoy life rather than sitting at home alone. I also love how Lindsey emphasizes the importance of consistency and makes sure we're practicing the right way at home. I feel so much more confident as a dog owner, and Ashe seems happier too! I highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training of Charlotte to anyone looking to strengthen the bond with their dog and improve both their quality of life and behavior!

She edited her videos so we could see a lot of what they worked on each day. Claire really understood Shadow and his needs. At pick up, she did a great job explaining everything to us, guiding us on how to follow through at home, and loving on Shadow one last time. You could tell he was sad to leave her. Claire was so encouraging and loving towards him. Shadow's been home less than a week and because of Claire, he is behaving so much better. He's been able to off leash and not jump on people he's greeting. Thank you so much Claire and Off Leash K9 Charlotte!

We just finished a four-week board and train with Carson at The Dog Knowledge. Worth every penny!…read more Not going to lie - the first couple weeks were rough on us, not him. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.

It felt immediately practical and grounded, not overwhelming or overly rigid... and actually, fun! One of the biggest takeaways was learning how to use the growl/bah cue as a simple "focus on me" signal, paired with really big, enthusiastic praise when she listens or offers good behavior. That combination alone made a noticeable difference in how quickly she engages and settles. Patrick also gave us clear daily practices to work on, especially around reducing attention-seeking behaviors, managing front door and doorbell excitement, helping her place and settle, and most importantly supporting her adrenaline and impulse control. It all feels doable and structured without being stressful. On top of the training itself, Patrick was also incredibly helpful in guiding us through a diet transition for Bondi. That kind of whole-dog support really stood out because he clearly cares about Bondi's wellbeing -- not just obedience. Patrick is knowledgeable, calm, supportive, and really good at explaining the why behind what you're doing. We left sessions feeling empowered instead of confused, which says a lot. We're honestly thrilled with the progress we've already made and excited to keep building on it. If you're looking for a trainer who is thoughtful, effective, and genuinely invested in your dog's success and your relationship with them, we would absolutely recommend Patrick without hesitation.

I love him for how much he has helped us. I highly recommend him and now consider him the "Cesar Milan" of Charlotte .

I just BOARDED my two SENIOR Fur-babies for FIVE days, and they received EXCELLENT care. My Yogi is 14 and on prescription meds. He received his meds as directed! I've NEVER left my babies for this length of time and was quite apprehensive. The Manager, Rosemary, went out of her way to reassure me and promised to give them EXTRA attention! My babies even received a "go home" bath! They were happy, calm, and "tuckerd" out when my husband and I picked them up to go home! I HIGHLY recommend this facility and look forward to using them again and again. Thank you, Pet Paradise-Ballantyne! .

While in hold she amazingly appeared. I was told by Regional manager it was her fault for Friday since she had a meeting and didn't do roll call. Lame excuse to me. We could also never find her in any kennels. I asked about Thursday's Day camp and she said she would send me over time stamped video. It has been a week, several requests and no video. She was let out late on Saturday after we called again and when he got her home Sunday & gave her a bath, found what looks like a bloody bite wound behind her ear. I tried calling Monday and after several attempts, was told they weren't picking up because they were understaffed and told to send photos, which I did. I also requested day camp videos for everyday in writing & verbally and no response. Try finding contact information about the corporate office, they don't easily share it. Also check out BBB and see they are not members and have a "F" rating. After, a complaint filed on BBB a marketing person has sent me 2 emails, one asking for the location & one yesterday saying she would escalate it. I did find the HR manager's number Monday and she said she would have someone call me & no call. I think they may have been understaffed and thought they could get away with not providing day camp and still wonder how my dog got hurt.
