Working with Patrick has been such a game changer for us and for our pup, Bondi. In just a couple…read moreof hours of training, we saw big shifts in her focus, regulation, and our own confidence. It felt immediately practical and grounded, not overwhelming or overly rigid... and actually, fun! One of the biggest takeaways was learning how to use the growl/bah cue as a simple "focus on me" signal, paired with really big, enthusiastic praise when she listens or offers good behavior. That combination alone made a noticeable difference in how quickly she engages and settles. Patrick also gave us clear daily practices to work on, especially around reducing attention-seeking behaviors, managing front door and doorbell excitement, helping her place and settle, and most importantly supporting her adrenaline and impulse control. It all feels doable and structured without being stressful. On top of the training itself, Patrick was also incredibly helpful in guiding us through a diet transition for Bondi. That kind of whole-dog support really stood out because he clearly cares about Bondi's wellbeing -- not just obedience. Patrick is knowledgeable, calm, supportive, and really good at explaining the why behind what you're doing. We left sessions feeling empowered instead of confused, which says a lot. We're honestly thrilled with the progress we've already made and excited to keep building on it. If you're looking for a trainer who is thoughtful, effective, and genuinely invested in your dog's success and your relationship with them, we would absolutely recommend Patrick without hesitation.

Our dogs were running our life and within the first day, I can say I see a difference in their behavior. Everything he said made so much sense the way he explained it from a "dog's perspective". I love him for how much he has helped us. I highly recommend him and now consider him the "Cesar Milan" of Charlotte .

I can't say enough good things about Off Leash K9 Training! Our trainer, Lindsey, was incredibly…read moreknowledgeable and made the entire process fun and engaging for both me and my pup, Ashe. Ashe at 6 months of age can be a bit of a handful , but Lindsey took the time to understand his behavior and tailored the training to his needs. After just two weeks, we noticed Ashe's confidence soar. Ashe is now much better behaved at the park, and he's responding wonderfully to commands like "sit," "place," "heel," and "come." This is the second dog I put through Off Leash K9 Training, and they truly help build trust between you and your pup. It allows you to take your pup into the world and enjoy life rather than sitting at home alone. I also love how Lindsey emphasizes the importance of consistency and makes sure we're practicing the right way at home. I feel so much more confident as a dog owner, and Ashe seems happier too! I highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training of Charlotte to anyone looking to strengthen the bond with their dog and improve both their quality of life and behavior!

She edited her videos so we could see a lot of what they worked on each day. Claire really understood Shadow and his needs. At pick up, she did a great job explaining everything to us, guiding us on how to follow through at home, and loving on Shadow one last time. You could tell he was sad to leave her. Claire was so encouraging and loving towards him. Shadow's been home less than a week and because of Claire, he is behaving so much better. He's been able to off leash and not jump on people he's greeting. Thank you so much Claire and Off Leash K9 Charlotte!

We just finished a four-week board and train with Carson at The Dog Knowledge. Worth every penny!…read more Not going to lie - the first couple weeks were rough on us, not him. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.

She's a rescue, and very nervous and scared of almost everything, so I was really hesitant. From the moment I called to book an appointment, to when I picked her up, the staff was so kind. Thank you Amanda, and the front desk staff!

Absolutely Horrible Experience. Do Not Take Your Dog Here!…read more We took our puppy to Modern Pet Salon for the first time because we heard they use scissors instead of clippers, which we thought would be gentler. It turned out to be a terrible mistake. We specifically asked them multiple times not to cut too much of her hair, especially since she doesn't like it, but they insisted she had too many tangles and needed a full trim. Not only did they ignore our request, but they cut our puppy twice, both on her ears--areas where there was no tangled hair at all. They even called us during the appointment to say she was bleeding. Later, they claimed it was because she had an ear hematoma and that they had just trimmed it. That was a complete lie. We took her to the vet, who confirmed that the injury was a fresh cut from grooming and not from any medical condition. She did not have a hematoma. They hurt her, and then tried to cover it up. They also asked us to use an old sock to cover the wound, which felt incredibly unprofessional and careless. Since then, our puppy has been extremely uncomfortable. She keeps shaking her head, clearly bothered by her ears, and she has been very sad and withdrawn. This is the first and only time something like this has ever happened to her. I'm beyond disappointed. Not only should they have never charged us for this awful experience, but they should not be handling dogs, especially sensitive breeds like doodles, if they can't do so safely and honestly. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Please protect your pet and take them somewhere else.
