Hmmmm, this place is in the lobby of the Moxie hotel over on West campus. It's a pretty popular hangout for parents who are visiting. I tried a couple of their items for breakfast while I was there, but made a huge mistake. Trying to eat the burrito on the road. Very messy. In fact, most of the tacos were pretty messy. I suggest dining there with a good drink. read more

Zombie Taco - Breakfast Burrito - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

Quite possibly one of the worst meals in my life and definitely the worst taco! Ordered from the kiosk at the Moxy and yes I tipped ahead - for zero service! There was one other person waiting on food yet it took 20 minutes to get my order ready which would have been fine if it was edible! The server put my order on the counter and took off - I had also ordered 2 Topo Chicos ( which they didn't have ) and a bottle of water - the guy had wandered off so there was no one to ask so I just grabbed two bottles of regular water off the shelf! As soon as I got to my room- I saw how bad this was! Despite being 'freshly prepared to order ' the taco was chilly to the touch - almost like the tortillas had been pulled right of out of the fridge and cold toppings added before the fish - that was not fully cooked and a little pink on the inside with soggy batter on the outside! It was inedible. The street corn was no better. It was served with an oil slick on the top of the container and was a smelly congealed mess that was sour and also inedible ! Trashed the entire meal in the trash - outside of my room as the corn was too strong smelling ! The person working there was apathetic, not sense of urgency or pride just going through the motions so people have to wait for his ill prepared efforts! Definitely won't return! read more

Zombie Taco - Fish taco ( awful) and bad, bad street corn! - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

My husband and I went for a ride on our Ebike and decided to stop by Zombie Taco for some lunch. My husband placed our order online and they gave him a pickup time. When the order is ready you can pick up your food at the window. You can also go inside the building and order at the kiosk and wait for your food. It took about 15 minutes until our order was ready. So I decided to go inside to check out the inside. It was really small and colorful. There are places to sit all around. After going back outside I waited with my husband for the notification that our order was ready. Once we were notified I went to the window and picked up our order. To start I ordered the Chips and Queso. The Chips were crispy and the queso was okay. We got a side of Tomatillo Verde Salsa so I mixed the two together for added flavor. For my meal I tried the 3 tacos for $13. Taco 1 was the Black Bean and Avacado Taco which comes with Beans, Lettuce, Pico, and Avacado. This taco was okay. I liked that the ingredients were fresh. Taco 2 was the Grilled Adobe BBQ Chicken Taco which comes with red jalapeno, slaw, and a crema sauce. This taco was my favorite. It had the most flavor. The chicken was tasty and the slaw added texture and flavor. Taco 3 was the Braised Brisket Taco which comes with guacamole, red onion, and a ranch dressing. This taco was good. The brisket was flavorful and I liked the taste of the red onions. The guacamole was okay. This taco was the messiest and fell apart as I ate it. My husband ordered the Zombie Burrito which comes with cheese, pico, corn, slaw, beans, and rice. He chose to add chicken to his burrito. He liked it. I tried it and it had flavor and texture from all of the combined ingredients. Overall it was a good place to stop for some tacos. The ordering and pickup process was easy and the freshness of the ingredients gave the tacos color and flavor. read more

If you're staying at the Moxy, you'll really appreciate how convenient this taco spot is. Ordering is super easy, and the food is quite good. They even have QR codes for ordering right from your room at the hotel. The seating area has a fun, kitschy vibe, and there are plenty of plugs to charge your devices. read more

Super convenient if staying in the hotel moxy. The service was quick and simple. The sauces and salsas were good and the ingredients fresh. This is not a spot to seek out for miles and miles but if you get in late or having a drink at the bar try it. Value was a little low as portions were small but I guess value in saving calories? read more

Zombie Taco - 3 Tacos for $13 - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

Went here during our lunch break and not too shabby. I ordered the 3 tacos for $12 and added the baha fish taco. My faves were the fish, brisket and carnitas. The chips and queso was fine. The sopaipillas were fine but we didn't eat them right away so maybe that's why. The service was fine and the seating was very nice since it's the lobby of the hotel. read more

Located within the Moxy. Pickup window outside too. You order from a screen kiosk when you're inside. Prices are a bit too high for what you get. The breakfast quesadilla was good. The $5 taco were too small. Staff needs to smile and be friendly here. read more

Honestly not the best place. Just like any other taco place. The tacos were full and had alot of meat. So the trio that I got will definetly fill you up. This place is in a hotel which I did not know. So if you are staying there this is a great midnight snack. But if your passing by keep going. You have to pay for parking which is 10 bucks. It's a bit of a walk. They charge for salsa if you want some. Other than tapatio small packets. The place seems like an upscale dive hotel with some retro game console and a bar as soon as you walk in. Again if you are staying there great place. I would of been super happy if I walk downstairs and see 24/7 tacos I can order with some drinks. But to see it which I have been. Stop in. The $25 I paid for parking and tacos with no salsa not worth it. read more

Zombie Taco - Trio meal they have - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

Ordered two breakfast burritos (PAID FOR TWO) on Saturday, 5/16/26 as we were waiting on an Uber to the State Track Meet and told them we were in a hurry. The cook brought out the sack and I ran outside and jumped in the Uber. Opened the sack at the track meet and ONLY HAD 1 BURRITO THAT COST US $12.99! The burrito was HORRIBLE. read more

I'd say that this place is solid with no complaints, but that it doesn't really invoke any sort of crave factor where I really forward to it or would go out of my way for it. I've been a couple times now and just grab the taco trio -- carnitas and brisket being my preference. The trio is about $15 and will fill you up. I also have celiac disease and have not had an issue with them -- workers would understand any precautions needed, which is appreciated. read more

Not a big fan of their tacos. The corn tortillas were dry and chewy. Also, parking is a bit difficult, they are located close to the T-intersection on Guadalupe & 26th (Deane Keaton). read more

24 hour tacos located in the lobby of your hotel? Yes please! Highly recommend the 3 tacos for $10 special (otherwise $4 each). Tacos are on the smaller side but super flavorful and each is so different. We ordered the thick cut jalapeño bacon, braised brisket, charred Korean steak, and pork carnita! Fave was probably the brisket. Order at counter and pick up at counter. If you don't want to enter hotel, you can order to go at the window on Guadalupe Street - brilliant concept! What a great surprise to have this yummy taco shop in the lobby of my hotel, Moxy! I hadn't stayed at Moxy before and was pleasantly surprised to see this 24/7 meal option literally in the lobby. The prices on the menu were super affordable, so I assumed it was too good to be true, but gave it a try anyway. The only thing I ordered that I didn't quite care for was the queso, but the taco trio, chips, salsa, and guac were all SOLID. I would 100% eat here again, especially if I stay at Moxy again in the future. read more

This place is NOT 24 hours as we walked in at 12:15 am Saturday 1/13/24 and there was a guy sitting at a table that worked there who said they only serve hotel guest after midnight so labeling themselves as 24 hours is not cool considering we went out of our way to go here, paid for parking, walked in the cold to get there, then got turned away as we weren't hotel guest. We were also turned away from the restroom becuase they were "closed to outside guests" which had they been serving food as they label themselves to be, we would have been paying guest and it wouldn't have been a problem. Poor service and false advertising! Please update your misleading hours read more

Ok if you're at the hotel and need a quick bite. Food was done in 5 mins. Not much flavor. Everything needed a little more pizazz and salt.

Excellent food and a fun atmosphere. If you're a party animal, this place is open 24 hours. The zombie burrito was huge and totally delicious. This is like some Portland hippie's fever-dream imagination of a taco. Everything about the flavor and texture profile of these tacos is. Just. Wrong. It's not a creative re-imagining of a taco, it's actually just so off-base as to be simply incorrect. The brisket tacos I just had were instantly confusingly sweet- liquid is dripping everywhere (which can be a good thing, but here just served to make *not* enjoying this taco more difficult). There's no fresh veg, no crunch of fresh onions, no notes of caramelization from anything, no acidity. And all this is wrapped up in a corn tortilla that is far too thick / rigid. You especially know it's too thick and rigid, because they only had to use one to hold this drippy brisket taco together instead of two. Their queso is no bueno as stated in my previous review. read more

They are open 24/7!! Need I say anymore?! When looking for some late night eats on a weeknight, it can be harder to find something that's not fast food. And then comes Zombie Taco! They hit the spot and were a solid taco and burrito. The queso is just a small cup of melted cheese, not the best but was decent to eat with the amazing tortilla chips they have to just hit the spot after my taco. The baja shrimp and brisket tacos were great! My husband got the burrito and was content as well. Not the most amazing taco I've ever had, but definitely really good for the total package of price and availability! read more

Zombie Taco is an excellent little taco stop! I'm staying at the Moxy and loved that this restaurant is a 24/7 amenity during our stay. We decided to give their breakfast a try and WOW! It did not disappoint! My partner and I both had the Chicken Chorizo and Egg Whites & Avocado Tacos and seriously enjoyed them both. The fresh tomatillo salsa really brought everything together! The tortillas are sturdy, great for holding all of the delicious goods inside! We are both pretty picky when it comes to tacos, so this place really impressed us. They make ordering super easy too by using a tablet, then they text you when your order is ready! Very streamline and quick. Definitely recommend Zombie Taco!! Service was terrible!! I don't like cheese and asked if they can just leave off the cheese for the burrito and taco I ordered. The girl says, "I won't do modifications cause we're busy right now". Umm....ok? It's going to take you that much to not put cheese on something? This is the review you get when you advertise as being 24 hours and then don't answer your phone. Terrible service. Get out of here.

Ordered the Thick Cut Jalapeno Bacon and the Charred Korean Steak. The Jalapeno Bacon was pretty good, since the bacon was had a nice texture to it and the ranch complimented with the other ingredients. The Charred Korean Steak, on the other hand, was a bit of a miss for me since I am Korean and I expected it to be spicier. It was definitely savory though and would be fine if you don't have a bias for Korean food. All in all will definitely try it out again to see how the other items are. read more

I am a foodie, and I love tacos. They are my thing. After eating here, which was completely random cuz Kirby Lane Cafe decided to have stupid Covid hours, I fell in love. I am hard pressed to think of a taco that beats these tacos. I had one of each of the three available meet options (chicken, pork, and beef). I love all three and even split a second order cuz I wanted to indulge in the flavors once more. NGL / was so tempted to split a third order. So good. You owe it to yourself to try them.
