I made the call, a very friendly lady answered, she said she would have the head baker call me back. The head baker called me shortly after I had called. Very nice and eager to please. I've wanted to try these donuts for so long since they have great designs and the presentation did not disappoint! Great theme and concepts. The flavors were overall good. My big problem was the price. They didn't have the prices of the donuts where I could obviously see them. When I asked if I could get 8 donuts, I was told that getting a dozen would be the "same price, maybe a dollar more". There was a line behind me and a customer agreed with the employee helping me so I took their word for it. I paid $27 for a dozen donuts. When I got to work, I found the prices on their website and found that each specialty donut is $2.75. If I had just gotten 8 donuts at regular price of $2.75 like I intended to, I would have paid $22 altogether, which is a $5 difference, not the one dollar difference like I was told. I feel like they used my ignorance of not knowing their prices upfront to get a little more money out of me. Telling me that it would only "MAYBE be a dollar more" when it wasn't, is where it bothers me. Had I known that beforehand, I would have only gotten the 8 donuts I was originally going to get. I do not like it when businesses make suggestions that are not in the customers best interest. After hearing so much hype about Zombee, I decided it was a must to pop in one early morning visit to Fullerton. I've heard great things about their vegan selection, so I was excited to give it a try. The shop is adorable, everything is zombie-themed and quirky! They have a small parking lot that I was able to easily pop into, which is a MAJOR plus. I got all 3 of the vegan selections they had that day. The plain sprinkles, the chocolate butterfinger, and the cinnamon crumble cake one. These doughnuts were all DELICIOUS! The cake was light and fluffy and intensely moist, while the toppings provided a wonderful punch of flavor. My absolute favorite was the cinnamon one, it tasted like absolute heaven! This place has the cutest collection of donuts. The donuts are fluffy and sweet. I ordered the eyeball, nutella, smores, and the churro one(which is not the name but it's actual name escapes me). The eyeball is a red velvet donut and it was amazing. In addition, the churro one was rich in flavor. The caramel was a great touch to it. I love coming here because the donuts are so decorative and it's easy to see that each one had a lot of time spent into its craftsmanship. Been wanting to try this place for months now and finally had a chance to try it base on the reviews and coolness effect. I must admit it is a cute and a great idea for donuts but in the end the flavor didn't meet my wow factor of going out of my way to get it. They do have a small variety to choose from but the concept is great. Plus they do have a vegan option which is nice. The doughnuts are alittle overpriced. The frosting is tasty and fillings in the donuts are a great portion compared to a regular donut shop. Customer service was great as the girl answered all my questions. The fluffy donut was covered with chocolate icing, tiny marshmallows and Graham cracker crumb on top. I didn't really taste the Graham cracker, but I really didn't care at that point. I inhaled the delicious little sucker in seconds. My friend screamed when I took a bite of his eyeball. No silly bunny, it wasn't a real eyeball. I I took a bite of his red velvet donut. They eyeball donut was basically half donut-half red velvet, covered with sugar icing and chocolate covered donut hole. The delicious donuts only set us back $4.50. They charge you for $.50 for the credit card transaction. Be careful when you go to Zombee Donut. One bite of the donut...and you will become a zombie (fan). Don't say I never warned you!! 4 stars!! Holy smokes, it's not just that I'm a fan of The Walking Dead graphic novel, or of Halloween - this place has the BEST donuts I have had the very guilty pleasure to consume. We're talking Nutella fillings, pastry so light you will doubt they contain calories, and frostings that will make your sugar cravings celebrate. And of course all of their delicious donuts come in fun forms like zombies, caskets, hearts (raspberry filled, chocolate glazed with a big chocolate stake through the middle), and so many others. The only problem is the size - these donuts are huge. We usually share each one. I wish they were a bit smaller - then I could chose more than one when I sneak in by myself! If you haven't tried this place - stop by! They are closed on Tuesday, but open pretty early and late otherwise. They have new donut pillows that were made by the mother of one of the employees. There's some seating available and a restroom if you need to take a bathroom break. What I ordered: -Blueberry donut ($2): This one I enjoyed the most. It's not the best blueberry donut I ever had, but it hit the spot. It's a bit too sweet but had that yummy crispy external texture to it. It was very good overall. -Eyeball donut with the chocolate donut hole ($2): This was also good but too filling, heavy, and sweet for my taste. -Oreo cookie donut ($2): I was reluctant to order the Oreo one since it was whipped cream filled, and I really don't like donuts with fillings, but I figure I could squeeze the whipped cream out. The whipped cream is made in-house. I should have stuck with my guns on this one because the filling was too overwhelming for me. It was still a good donut but much too heavy for my liking. All specialty donuts are $2 and all regular ones are $1. Overall, the donuts here are super sweet and heavy. If you're into that, this is your place. I prefer lighter donuts, so it isn't quite for me, but the donuts here are good. This would be an especially good place for you if you like cream filled donuts as well. I was in the Fullerton area this weekend before heading to Vegas and happened to drive by and see this place! My boyfriend and I don't usually eat sweets but we decided to start our cheat weekend early! SO GLAD WE DID! The atmosphere is really cool! The owner (I believe) was so sweet and friendly! They had many options of donuts! Some simple basic ones you will find anywhere, some VEGAN, and some cute and EXTREMELY detailed ones! Many were so cute - almost too cute to eat! After checking out their website beforehand, I decided that there were 3 donuts that I had to try. Found the shop easy enough. Took some pics for folks to check out. Well, I did not have the opportunity to try all 3 donuts on my wish list. I tried 2 out of 3 plus a couple of bites from my wife's choices. That day, they had been pretty busy so the cases were about half full. Maple Bacon Bar was on my wish list. Did not quite live up to my expectations. It was fine, but I've tasted many better offerings elsewhere. ( 3 stars ) Cookies and Scream was one of my wife's choices. This raised donut did not make me scream with delight. Again, it was simply okay. ( 3 stars ) Nutella was another of my wife's choices. I liked the Nutella frosting and the chocolate cream filling as well. Would possibly order this one again. When it's Halloween and you find out this place is open 24 hours that night, you put down all urges to go to Krispy Kreme and you come here. Why? Because you want to dine as Zombees do! Now I don't really remember paying 20 plus bucks for a dozen donuts in my existence on Earth; but I told myself if I ever get to a unique donut shop where I don't have to drive to LA - I just might. So I did. Assortment of donuts are good and interesting to look at. Guess my fave was the Samoa. You can eat inside or take it to go. A cute little space. Zombee Donuts - with the similar darker theme - brings a unique twist to California! I was beyond excited to see that it was less than a mile drive from school. They have red velvet, peanut butter, regular glazed, monster flavored cream, cookies 'n creme, and samoa! Not only were the donuts adorable, they were still good after a few hours. The cookies 'n creme was my favorite - the Oreo atop the donut gave an amazing crunch followed by the perfectly sweetened cream filling. Each donut is $2. I think they are still setting up the shop since it still looks pretty empty, but they did just open and I can imagine it being nice and cozy. I will most definitely be back! Never thought I'd be happy our regular donut place was closed for renovations. Scratch that. I'm ecstatic! The hub wanted to surprise me so he snuck out while I was busy. Our dog was still here so I was hoping he'd read my mind that I was starving. He came back a few minutes later with a cute pink donut box which told me he didn't go to our fave spot. Long story short, they were closed, he googled and up came Zombee Donuts and Bakery. It's 5 star rating made up his mind on where to go. Boy, oh boy...am I glad he did. Lots of specialty goodies and even some standards. He brought home a nice variety of the two. My hands down fave? Maple bars...with a strip o' BACON on the top. It could only been better if it had BACON bits throughout the donut itself. What's that old adage "From your mouth to God's ear", right? Could say way more but still have donuts calling my name. We actually didn't go with many of their "zombee" looking donuts, because the flavors didn't call out to us as much as the ones we did get -- fruit loops, nutella, old fashioned, and maple bacon. The best one was definitely the old fashioned because of its flavor and texture. We like denser, cake donuts better than the soft ones, so the old fashioned really hit the spot for us. The next best was the maple bacon because of the bacon. Usually, places will chop up the bacon and sprinkle it over the top of the donut, but here, it is in one piece, which allows you to taste it more. The nutella and fruit loops were okay, but nothing too special to me. The fruit loops cereal was also stale, so that brought it down. This place is amazing. They are officially open as of this week and their new hours are 6am-6pm. We came at around ~3pm on a Thursday and they were starting to run out of a lot of flavors. There's a small parking lot behind the building but we were one of two groups in the store. We got to try almost everything we wanted but we'll definitely be back for the rest! Every single time I've ordered donuts here, the staff is consistently polite, helpful, and patient with all of my questions. The donuts are not only super cute, but delicious too. I can always tell when donut shops use old oil, and I've NEVER tasted old oil here. The dough is light and fluffy, the frosting, delicious and you can tell they care about putting out quality donuts. When I want a fancy doughnut in SoCal, this place is my go to. I moved to Michigan about 5 years ago and have yet to find an equivalent in the area. Soooo every time I'm home to visit I'm all about the doughnuts. And Zombee's is usually my first stop. Never disappointed and always worth the price. The "Zombee" itself is adorable. A delicious mixture of glazed twist style doughnut with the perfect amount of jelly innards to appear like it's bleeding when you bite into its head. I'm not normally a jelly or any filling person, but I love the zombee. They also have an awesome assortment of basic (from coconut chocolate cake to an old fashioned--my fav doughnut of all time, with chocolate of course) to fancy doughnuts (think "cereal killer", a chocolate iced with cookie crunch or other cereal on top). Our first time here after hearing about them from a friend. We were not disappointed. We tried the Nutella and a Coffin. Both were fantastic. The Coffin is filled with Bavarian cream- my wife's favorite. We may or may not have taken a breath while eating them. The littles split a cookies n cream.
