The place looks great. Wonderful upgrades with an upbeat modern feel. I've been here a handful of times and it just seems to be getting better the longer that they're open and the more settled they become. Love the coffee!! Service has been consistently good excluding the first time that I checked it out- which in their defense was when they initially opened. Everyone is friendly, energetic, and helpful. While I've only eaten here for breakfast I can say that I've never been disappointed. Biscuits and gravy are great and their omelettes are always on point. Food is just okay, and as nearly everyone notes, service is slow. We arrived for breakfast around 10 AM on a Saturday and expected a wait. We were told 5-10 minutes, so we sat, and after a few minutes of waiting the hostess seemed to realize there was an empty table all along, so we got seated there. It took about 20 minutes to receive the mimosa I ordered. When the food came, that was also the first time the server came back to us. I ordered another mimosa, but never received it. When the server came to take our plates (again, didn't check in on us until then), I asked if my mimosa was still coming. He said he'd check on it (I told him to cancel it if it hadn't already been made) and he came back with the check and said he realized he never placed the order for it. He was nice, just not very attentive. The water is also served out of glass bottles with swing tops, and the hole where the metal goes through was moldy. I was excited upon Zoe's opening downtown. So I visited shortly after opening, total "#&@*" show. I gave them a pass since they were just getting on their feet. I returned a few months later only to find the same thing. We were seated promptly but, were not spoken to for 15 minutes. We then received water and menus. Waited 15 more minutes to order. 30 minutes later received our food! The place wasn't even full. I voiced this problem to the owner/manager who replied "oh" Today I tried it again. The host looked at us and said; is there something I can do for you? WTH I said we would like to eat. :) We were seated waited 10minutes to get a menu, had to ask for water and waited 10more to order. Food was fairly quick but it was cold. 3 strikes you're OUT! I've been here a few times because I love breakfast food, but I don't think I can stand this place anymore. The service is TERRIBLE. The waitresses always forget your orders, the coffee is always burnt and tastes like sludge, they take forever to bring your food, even when the place is empty, and then the food isn't even that great. The tables are sticky, the napkins were coffe stained, and the dishes were not clean. My girlfriend even found hair in her food. Definitely would not recommend, and I will never be returning. read more

What an unorganized mess. Went there Sunday morning and put our name on the waiting list and asked for a booth. 20 minutes later we were asked if we were a different party and found out that they had already seated our party. Were then taken to an counter height table, but that did work for us due physical limitations. We were then sent back to the corner to wait another 10 for them to clean up able that had sat unoccupied for 10 to 15 minutes unbused. Instead of using busing bins, servers were busing dishes in hand having to take multiple trips. Once seated, the server brought us water but didn't use a drink tray so two of our glassed were pressed up against her body. Not something you really want to see now a days. We ordered our food and our son got a cup of drip coffee. The coffee was not that good and he only had 2 creamers. The server instead of asking for the little bowl for the creamers just brought a bunch in her hand. The wife got the corn beef hash which was out of a can and really bland. My son and I got the chicken waffles, the chicken was crispy and moist and the waffle was all right. The spiced syrup had no bite tasting like normal pancake syrup and corn salsa was confusing. The bacon top could have used another 5 minutes in the oven as the fat had not rendered and it was not crispy at all. read more

I want to like this place, I really do. Seeing as how it's one of the only breakfast joints in Pullman, I continually return even though I am consistently disappointed by the service. The food is OK, usually my go to after a night of drinking. For some reason every time I go, the service gets worse and worse. Stopped by this morning before the football game and were promptly seated, which was nice. However our waitress didn't write down our order (something that happens often when I go there), and when the food FINALLY arrived almost an hour later, it was not the way we asked for it. I understand that we were a party of 2 and maybe our server thought she didn't need to write it down but there were obvious discrepancies between what we ordered and what we actually got. We didn't complain because we were extremely hungry after watching 2 larger parties that were sat after us get served before us. All in all, this place is nothing special and if a manager actually reads this, you need you get your service up to a more efficient standard. read more

I've given zoes a couple of chances since they have changed locations and each time I've been disappointed. The first time we went the waitress entirely forgot about our order until we had mentioned it to them half an hour later. Another time we had gone there with friends they had brought out 2 of the orders but then the remaining two orders took at least half an hour to receive. In town for the night and found this place just driving . It was busy in there , waited about 10 mins before I got my order in . I had a pomegranate mimosa omg so good , I actually had two lol I also ordered strawberry Belgium waffle with eggs and bacon . Everything was delicious a bit of a wait but worth it . My waiter was a very nice polite guy with a cute accent . When he got to me he was very attentive and very helpful again it was busy in there so no harm no foul . We have given the restaurant numerous attempts and I have to say this is the last one. We won't be coming here again. Got a 20oz chi tea and half of it was foam. Really, that's cheating us out of half the drink. Want refills on drip coffee from a coffee house...good luck getting that and there was only like 5 tables full so why such poor service. Their coffee drinks are absolutely delightful (I highly recommend the Mexican mocha), but their food is more on the "just ok" side. Unfortunately the quality of their drinks makes the "meh"ness of the food a little heart-breaking. Their service mostly just needs some consistency. Either it's amazing or it's non-existent. You get a tiny feeling of a Restaraunt going through growing pains. It sounds like they've upgraded from coffee house to Restaraunt. It feels like it's moving in the right direction, but a misstep might be disastrous. I genuinely hope they pull through these pains, because I can't get enough of their coffee. Real rating is around 2.5 stars. We have been going here since it was Tam's. We were told it is still the same cooks. The food is always decent enough (3 stars), but the service has been 2 star for the last few times we had been there. Most recently, it was earlier this summer when it's pretty mellow on the Palouse. Despite there being 4 girls at the coffee bar who were literally doing nothing except playing on their phones, there was only one waiter/busser and things were just slow as molasses. read more

Would give it zero if I could. Customer service is far below acceptable standards for a public diner. Management has less accountability and worse customer service than the servers. When I expressed my concerns to the old guy up front, he had no interest in improvement, rather told me "everyone makes mistakes" I understand the statement, but when you have to wait 45 minutes every time to place an order, and repeatedly get ignored you quickly come to realize this isn't merely a mistake but rather a pattern of irresponsibility. If you do not like working there, quit. No reason customers should have to put up with miserable customer service due to disinterest in employees. Will never come again. read more

Delicious!!! I am so happy they moved in. I already loved this little place but the old location was just too far to make it on my lunch. The coffee was fantastic. The server knew her menu well, was super nice, and very accommodating to our kids. They still had the old school Tam's menu right along with the Zoe menu. The food was great as expected! I've been here a few times, sometimes during off season and occasionally on mom or dads weekend. There will almost always be a wait on a special weekend but it makes sense. The food is mostly good, last time I ordered the eggs Benedict and so did my mom but both were cold. They also brought me my latte (which was really good) but forgot my moms. My wife, son and I stopped at Zoe's for dinner about 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 11th. The restaurant was about 3/4 full. We were promptly greeted and told it would just be a few minutes until a table was cleared for our seating. We were seated in less than five minutes. However, from there it went downhill. After we received our menus, it took our waitress about 10 minutes to get back to us to take our orders (a burger, an "Original Reubinski" and a French Dip sandwich). Once she took our orders, we did not hear from her again (but did see her working other tables) until about 25 minutes after she took our order. Perhaps seeing our repeated glances directed her way, she came over and told us that our orders were currently being "plated." We took that to mean that they would arrive within a minute or two. However, about 15 more minutes elapsed before she brought out my wife and son's meals. My wife had ordered a salad (instead of fries) with her meal but was served fries. She brought this to the waitress' attention and she brought a salad out to her. Meanwhile, my order (the "Reubinski") was not in sight. About 4-5 minutes later, my order arrived but, instead of the Reuben I had ordered (Corned Beef Reuben), I received a Turkey Reuben. Given the length of time it took to just get this food, I did not bother bringing the error up to the waitress' attention (could not afford to wait another 30 or more minutes for the correct order). On a positive note, all three of the food orders tasted good (hence a 2 star review instead of 1). Just do not know what was going on with the unacceptable length of time to place an order and receive our food (albeit the wrong food). The food was good enough for me to try Zoe's again the next time I pass through but . . . I will definitely voice my past experience to whomever does the seating on my next visit to inquire if the meal order and service will be done in a more reasonable amount of time. read more

Ok, so this will be lengthy. As I was eating at another restaurant I asked for a recommendation for a good coffee and was told Zoe was the place. While I was there I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a coffeehouse, so I looked the menu over while waiting for my hot mocha to be made and decided I would return the following day for breakfast. I would've had dinner had I not just come from eating. I only eat two meals a day, often one, so I blew it. The following day I return and of course ordered my coffee and yes, it was the best hot mocha I've personally ever had and I've had many, it's my addiction. So I ordered two. On this day I ordered, two vegetable omelets, one with biscuits and gravy and one with hotcakes. One omelet I requested, "absolutely NO ONIONS". I also ordered a steak and eggs over-easy with hash browns and english muffin. Requested that the steak be grilled with no salt, pepper or seasonings, just plain, and all my request were repeated FIVE times! The cashier said she'd ask the cook it my request could be honored and came back saying, "he said the steaks never are seasoned", which is odd, never heard of any restaurant grilling steaks sans s/p/seasoning. This order took 40 minutes to be fulfilled, 40!!! When I walked in and surveyed the restaurant I saw eight tables with people at them and all were already eating. While I sat waiting for my order four people came in and six tables left, eventually the other two left. Two people came in to pick up a call in order and one walked in to order a coffee. There was absolutely no reason why it should've taken 40 minutes to cook omelets and a steak. When the girl finally brought my order to me she said, "the omelet with onions sprinkled on top is the one with onion". Makes sense. I get back to the hotel and I immediately see both omelets have onions on top, and low and behold, both are loaded (LOADED) with onions, it was like an onion omelet more than a vegetable omelet. So many onions I couldn't even pick them out. To me, this was purposely done as was the 40 minute wait. And guess what, the steak had pepper on it, yay, how awesome!!! The cook apparently has a nice attitude. Maybe he doesn't understand, "allergies"! Well so breakfast was shot for my two friends, good thing there was hotcakes, english muffins, hash browns and eggs for them to eat. But they should not have been forced to fill up on that and not the main dish. Not to mention the money paid for food now going to waste. I've been told to choose my battles wisely, so I did not call to complain because really what would they do, the cook would deny , then I'd have to go back with the food to show proof only to be told I could have the food redone or a refund and it just wasn't worth the time and effort when we had things to do. So, thinking the cook was just a jerk, I did go back a second time on another visit to Pullman. Ordered the vegetable omelet with zero request, the steak with the same request , no s/p/seasonings and a side of corned beef hash. This cook got the steak right, the over-easy eggs were fried to a crisp, the omelet was a wet mushy mess, made me gag and the corned beef hash was from a can, and like one tablespoon for almost 5 bucks. If I wanted a canned hash I could've gone to Safeway and bought a full can for way less than 5 bucks. So...I gave them two chances to be be decent cooks and both times they failed - I'm done. But the hot mocha is still the best no matter who makes it, so that's all the money they'll get out of me if I'm ever in Pullman again. First visit was on 03/06/18 and the second was on 03/29/18. Oh, and the second order did not take 40 minutes, this time only about 25 minutes, which was a long wait considering the food was slopped together. I really didn't want to do this but here goes. This place use to be incredible. But with the new owners the place has nose dived. The food is hit and miss. The bbq can be great. (When they aren't serving you burnt ribs, ripped off the bone.) They disable online ordering all the time. And whoever orders the food, has zero experience in that task. They run out of everything. My girlfriend wanted a simple grilled cheese one day. And they where out of cheese. Wtf? Whoever decides what is smoked each day. Here's a free lesson. It's better to make more and not run out. You may have some negligible food waste but at least you aren't losing customers. It's a shame that they have become so hit and miss because it sure didn't use to be. On the plus side. The servers are friendly. The hospitality is top knotch. It's just the cooking and that terrible manager who can't order food for shit. read more

Not a bad place, I know not a great start to a decent review. The place is decent, the food was good the server was okay. Could have kept up on drinks a bit better, we had to ask for more. But we brushed it off as she was new. The atmosphere is okay. A bit too echo-ee for me, but it does not help when people do not know how to use an inside voice. You do not need to yell, you friends are right next to you. I had the 7 Devils Burger (our servers choice at my request) with a salad and blue cheese dressing. The large hand pressed burger was grilled fairly well and juicy, almost how I like it. The heat from fried jalapeños was not to overpowering that you could not taste the rest of the burger. The salad was room temperature so it seemed as was the dressing, I would have preferred a bit colder salad. The dressing was good but did not feel like it was made in house. My wife had the Steptoe Butte Burger with fries. She says it was good. Burger could have been cooked a little hotter but was not bad, she said it was juicy as well. The fries were good, supposedly beer battered, felt like they were food service brand, not battered in house. For something specialty like that, fresher would have been better. We just feel like prepackaged food you get from Mc Donald's. Our bill however was the lowest we have had in a long time for a sit down restaurant. We do recommend this restaurant and we will probably be back sometime. read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. Everything there is so tasty beautiful presentation, outstanding employees, the best coffee, deserts and burgers. I was greeted by a very handsome, friendly young man named Blake. I could tell he loved his job, I felt so welcome. I had the Chicken Santa Clarita !! I've never tasted a better combination of ingredients. All white meat chicken breast, green chili's, fresh soft special bun, sweet flavored cream cheese and pepper jack cheese. The combination was spectacular. I had beer battered fries with it. I even had dessert!! Flourless chocolate torte w/raspberry topping scrumdellyisous . It was so good I went back for breakfast which is served all day by the way. I had thick cut applewood bacon eggs and Belgian waffle. They're famous for their chicken and waffles have to try that them next time I'm in town. They also have cocktails and specialty brews. So many things I'd like to try I wish I could go there every day haha read more

Zoe's is the old 'Tams' restaurant just down from Stadium Way at E Main. It was being remodeled but we decided to try it anyway. We ordered the tomato soup which came lukewarm. Everyone in our party ordered different lunch items which were ok, but the wait was forever. What they did not get right was made up for by our enthusiastic and friendly waiter. He was great. With a little more effort this should be a great little diner. read more

I came at 1:00 on a Saturday afternoon and it took us almost an hour to get our food. Halfway through my meal, I see a black and white cat hair in my food. The waitress said "oh I'll make sure that doesn't happen again" and then gave me $5 off and didn't ask if I was still hungry. When we paid at the front we told a different girl what happened and all she said was "oh I didn't know that". We also had to remind the waitress that we wanted the drinks that we ordered and all she said was "oh yeah I can get that" and again, there was no apology. Terrible service and a terrible experience. There was no sympathy and none of the staff handled either the situations appropriately. read more
