"The Pleaser" Pastrami with Thousand Island dressing
    Joel A.

Great New York Style Subs! Friendly! Quick Service! Nice Patio Area! Great location! At the corner of Folsom St. & Arapahoe Ave in Boulder.

Lot 169. CU beats Wyoming! Go Buffs!

This tiny sub shop while basic from the outside is big on flavor and great on the inside. Great food, reasonable prices and ready when they say. I have twice had large orders for CU gameday and the order was ready as promised with a smile. Everyone raves about how delish and fresh they are. One large sandwich cut in 3 pieces works perfectly for handheld tailgate food. They provide all the extras and dressing on the side neatly wrapped. Support these local shops.

Pastrami rubber with mustard instead of thousand islands.

Great sub shop. Super easy online menu and ordering and pick up to go. Perfectionist and Showoff are my favorites.

However, there were people sitting on their outside patio. Hardy folks, I guess! My friend was nursing a sore tummy, so she just had some grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. She loves everything she's had here. It was my first time. I ordered the chicken bowl with yakisoba noodles. It was lukewarm, but that's fine for me. I think they must have microwaved it because it was steamier as you ate down the bowl. The veggies were crisp, the noodles perfect, the chicken was tender. It was spiced at what I'd call a medium level, and quite yummy. My friend then ordered their vegan chocolate pudding, which we shared. Yummy and light. My one big criticism is that they charge $4 for iced tea. I questioned it and the cashier was kind of snippy about it, but the customer behind me approached after I dispensed my tea and said she agreed it's too expensive. The meal was appropriately priced and there is plenty of food, but the drinks? C'mon. It's worth maybe $2.50. They really should reevaluate that. It's the main reason that I gave the place 4 stars instead of 5. The other people who work there were nice and helpful. I didn't grab a fork but the server who brought my bowl cheerfully went and got me a fork and napkin. Very nice. It's obviously popular, it filled up as we sat, with quite a variety of people, from babies to seniors. I might go back, but perhaps next time I'll just get water. I hope they don't charge for that!

I came here with my friend and his son on a Saturday afternoon…read more I wasnt too hungry yet as I had a good breakfast and did a very minor hike/stroll around Chautauqua Park so only wanted something light to munch on. Boychik sells Mediterranean style food and when I saw what was on their menu, I knew exactly I wanted to eat here. I lovr Mediterranean style dips, I could eat this everyday. I chose the 3 dip option and got muhummara, babaganoush and whipped feta and asked for two servings of veggie and one serving of pita. Portion size was massive so I am glad I shared with my friends. My favorite was the muhummara, that was so good and my buddy was also like wow this is sooo good!! Babaganoush was ok for me and whipped feta didnt work for me. Veggies were great and the pita was the soft, pillowy ones, which I love! Staff were helpful and order came up quick. Guy ringing me up also told me that upstairs they have plates and cutlery so no need to have my dips wrapped to-go. Overall, great food here, take it upstairs and enjoy the views! I'd definitely come back again!

While the portion is pretty decent, the price is slightly higher than other fast casual Mediterranean spots. The meats in the wrap were juicy and tender, the overall flavor was solid. I'm actually pretty impressed by the falafel. The falafel tasted very fresh, crunchy on the outside, moist, airy and crumby on the inside. I'd definitely come back for some falafel when I'm in town again!

We'd already had dinner at home and stopped in for a drink and dessert. I mentioned this to the server, and from that point on the experience went downhill. I ordered a Happy Hour Cabernet Sauvignon, which was clearly about half the size of a regular glass. My husband ordered a ginger beer, but it tasted like sparkling water with syrup settled at the bottom, which he didn't notice until the end of the glass. My son's dessert was also priced $2 higher than what was listed on the menu. The service overall was incredibly lackluster. It was a disappointing experience at what has long been one of our favorite restaurants in Boulder.

I loved the big chandeliers and brick wall. Our server, Skylar, was fantastic. She was personable, welcoming, and enhanced the entire dining experience. It comes with a dulce de leche and a coffee anglaise that was so delicious. For my main I went with the fireside eggs. This was exceptional! Flavourful shakshuka with perfectly poached eggs, avocado and feta served alongside naan bread. This meal was comforting and delicious without being overly filling. I came here for dinner with my husband for a work dinner and our party had seven people total. The Kitchen had a modern and rustic feel to it and the server was quick to show us to our table once our party arrived. We weren't really sure where to start, so a server recommended a few dishes for us to share and everyone ended up picking 1-3 dishes each. We started with a few appetizers: carrots which were slow roasted until they were tender and served on a bed of fluffy, whipped feta, crispy cauliflower which was fried until the exterior was nice and crunchy and served alongside tender carrots and a sweet tamarind chutney. My husband ordered a rigatoni which doused in a fresh bolognese, slices of parmesan, and fragrant herbs. We also had scallops as per the waiter's recommendation, but we were disappointed when only two scallops came out. It would have been nice if the waiter had mentioned that there would only be two scallops served, especially knowing that our party had 7 people. We also had crab fried rice, which I wasn't much of a fan of due to the saltiness of the dish. I ended up ordering the trout, which seemed to be a favorite around the table because of the crispiness of the skin. The sweetness of the candied pine nut crumble contrasted so nicely with the fish and the creaminess of the dashi yogurt paired well with everything. We also ordered a few meat dishes: pork belly which was incredibly fatty and tender and had a sweetness due to the brown sugar curing, espresso-rubbed wagyu skirt steak which ended up being fairly disappointing to everyone (the marbling of the wagyu steak wasn't quite as rich and fatty as I'd expect for a wagyu), and a double-cut pork chop, which was also incredibly tender and delicious. We also ordered a side of fries and everyone was so surprised by how large and thick the fries were, although it wasn't too different from other fries you could order elsewhere. It was a fun and interesting experience eating here, although I'm not sure I'd recommend it as it's rather pricey. It's fun to eat with a large party, though. The service can also be incredibly slow. It took a while for us to get the check or to flag down staff to inquire about the menu. We also had to fill our own water, which was a little disappointing considering the price point of the restaurant.

My half of the table ended up ordering one of everything in the hot tapas section of the menu and two pitchers of sangria. The tomato crostini was so nice and crisp. The focaccia was toasted to perfection, the slow roasted tomatoes had a bright and rich flavor, and the olive oil drizzled on top pulled all the flavors together. The meatballs were incredibly flavorful. Everyone loved the croquettes, which were nice and fluffy inside. The baked goat cheese was incredibly creamy and the honey gave it a wonderful sweetness. It was delicious on top of the slices of baguette they were served alongside of. The champinones/mushrooms were just alright to me -- they had a dark, earthy flavor but I wish it had a more complex flavor profile. I felt similarly about the fried artichoke hearts. The lamb sausage was delicious and had a nice heat to them. We were also served bacon wrapped dates, but I found the dates to be too sticky and sweet. We also ordered every dessert - caramel flan, basque cheesecake, and chocolate cake. I found the caramel flan disappointing. I prefer my flan to be more solid, but this one was mostly cream that was melting on the dish once you dug into it. The cake was good and paired well with the ice cream and candied almonds it was served with. The basque cheesecake was also okay, but I think I enjoyed the apricots it was served with more than the actual cake. Overall, very beautiful restaurant with great tapas.
