My husband suggested we try this place for some Persian food. He had heard it's really good. I wanted my daughter to have a great Persian meal for her graduation party so I placed my order for Chicken kabobs, Ground beef Kefta, shrimp, filet steaks, rice, flame grilled tomatoes, and salad. We ate here tonight. Party of 4. The food was very very delicious. We love Persian food and have had it many times. This was the best we have ever had. We each had a plate with rice, salad and meat. We tried the beef, Kefta and chicken. All three were phenomenal. The girl at the counter was super nice and helpful. And the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we had. I just moved to chandler, AZ from San Diego and have been looking for a restaurant where they serve Iranian food close to my house. I found this cute, small place on yelp and decided to give it a try. It's not a fancy restaurant where you get seated and they take your order, but the food was good. You order at the register and they bring it to you. I ordered the Beef combo ( Koobideh), with half rice half salad. the meat was very tender and juicy. The only thing I didn't like about the place was that the stews are only available during certain days of the week. I was looking forward to ordering a few different kinds of stew and bringing them home, but they couldn't take my order since it was a Thursday. ZK Grill Ahwatukee is spot on! Everything on the menu is delicious and pretty healthy. Never disappointed in the grilled chicken kabobs. Hubby usually gets the beef kabobs which are equally amazing. Service is always been friendly and love that you can sub a salad instead of rice. Their house champagne salad dressing is light and refreshing. Highly recommend the Greek salad with grilled chicken and house dressing! Yum!!! read more

Food was fine, it's comfort food it can't go wrong. The wait? No so much. If I have to wait for 40 mins for my food, why don't I just go somewhere else?? It's not 20mins, it's 40, and when I ask the lady, she says: "sorry we are busy today" with an attitude like we are annoying her. BUSY IS NOT AN EXCUSE. Real big bummer to write this because I like this place, and understand running a restaurant is tough, especially to please everyone. I have been going to this place for years and love their koobideh, it's on par with mom's home cooking. But we got food poisoning our last time ordering from them because they served us undercooked beef. I made them aware of the issue last time (we ordered 30 mins before closing, maybe they were in a rush to close) and asked them to ensure it was cooked through this time. Again super disappointed. It seems their grill is messed up and not providing even heat, half of the skewer is cooked and the other half is very underdone. When I brought this to their attention they just laughed at me. ZK Grill is affordable and offers some decent value for the price. I ventured out and more or less got a pita with a kebab in it called the "Ground Beef Wrap". As a sandwich it didn't make the most sense because the kebab was basically cut in half and was awkward to attempt to eat as part of a sandwich, almost falling out with every bite. Overall though I have no complaints about the food, just not quite hitting that next level that would earn them a 5 star review. read more

If you're unable to handle the demand of food delivery services, do not put your restaurant on them. I've never seen a restaurant so poorly run that they cancel delivery orders nearly every time. If you actually go to the restaurant, it's always empty too. What are these people even doing? Anyway, if you want good Persian food, skip this place and go to The Persian Room. Delicious! I've lived in Ahwatukee for 20+ years and have never tried this place until today. I always avoided it because their curb appeal gave me the creeps...it just looked unkept from the outside and I assumed their food would be just as bad. But glad to say the food is great! I've been here a few times already. If you love the Persian Room then I think you'll love this place. I normally get the chicken with half salad and half rice with a grilled tomato. They have a pomegranate vinegarette and a champagne vinegarette. I usually prefer the champagne. The tomato is just really outstanding and the chicken is moist, tender, and flavorful on a bed of fluffy rice. They also serve yogurt soda, which I've yet to try. The first time i tried it was at the Persian room which is very unique. They're really friendly here and very quick to make your meal. LOVED IT. I got the Beef and Lamb combo. It was #13 I believe? They give you so much food and more than just the quantity and fairness of the price, more importantly, it was very delicious! The beef wasn't what I was expecting because it was ground beef but was still good. However, the lamb was perfectly cooked and it was amazing. The service was great as well! This place is amazing! I've had numerous meals from ZK grill and each one is always perfect! No lie here - eat at least once a week there and perfect taste and flavor every time. I love the freshness of the meats as well as the salads. My fav is the chicken platter with half salad and half rice, and the chicken (and all the meats there) is always freshly grilled for each order! Their filet platter is amazing too!! And their grape leaves are yummy too. And oh their hummus is awesome. BTW I have celiac but they take all precautions for me and thankfully no contamination ever (fingers crossed it stays so). Awesome food worth the wait. They need more help so if you know someone looking for a JOB let them know. I had the chicken shawarma salad and it was the bomb. Very tender. My mom had the beef platter that was a 9 out of 10 only because it was burned due to the workers being overwhelmed with people. I guess that is a good problem to have. I have to stay the worker was super and very friendly she kept apologizing for the delay; it seemed like the cooks don't have a system yet as it what food is cooked first etc. Again next time you go there tip that wonderful gal standing in the front! read more

I originally made this one star because of the online order snafu. I updated it to three after we ate. The food is amazing. Such great meat. ZK grill is such a hidden gem! I love the food and the portions are great for about $10-$13 a plate. They are a little take out place with minimal seating but their food comes out fast so there doesn't ever seem to be a huge line. I really like the shrimp platter. It comes with some seasoned tiger shrimp, a large portion of saffron rice and a salad. Their salad dressing is ok, but everything else is amazing! The shrimp is fresh and cooked well to where it is bouncy but not tough. The rice has some flavor and if you add the spice at the table, there is a tart and salty flavor. Besides my usual dish, I have heard their gyros are great too! This place is a friendlier and cheaper version of a place in Tucson called Alibaba. The baklava here is just as sweet and delightful. It is still missing something since I'm still looking for the perfect baklava, but they tried. I highly recommend the food here and signing up for their discount texts. read more

I went here for the first time with few of my friends, and it was the best Persian food I've had in Arizona. I ordered the chicken entree and it was amazing. The food quality was very good and the chicken tasted fresh and very clean environment. I can't believe I live a couple miles from here and didn't get around to trying it for 6 years. The food here is fantastic and a remarkable value. Any entrée here can easily feed two people. The gyros are a great lunch option too. The ground beef kebabs sound weird but they're awesome. They take the beef, mix in spices and basically create a long meatball that's grilled up. They're available through Uber Eats and you can also order online for pickup with Yelp as well. read more
