I found this place while enjoying a day walking around Dublin with my friends. We were drawn by the bright sign in the front of the restaurant and the casual vibes of this place. It was located in a different area than most of the bars, so it wasn't the typical tourist restaurant. I ended up ordering the seafood cannelloni on my first visit and I was blown away by the rich flavors. The food was cooked perfectly and plated very nicely. We enjoyed the food so much that we came back a second day for dinner and I got a flatbread, which was easily as amazing. I am docking two stars from this establishment because the service needs significant improvement. On both visits we seemed to be swapped between several waitresses and all were very gruff. This was the only place I went to in Ireland where the staff was not friendly. I hope they work on how they treat customers. The food was hands down the highlight of this restaurant. read more

Food was so amazing that we returned 3 times during our trip. I was travelling with 2 vegans this place has an incredible vegan menu with lots to choose from. I am told the pizza and the lentil ragu are delicious. I had the BUFALA CAPRESE which was the best I had ever tasted. The tomatoes were ripe and fresh. Presentation of the food was excellent as well. We stumbled upon this place one day for lunch as the menu looked really appetizing. The restaurant was very clean and updated. This was one of the first restaurants I found in Dublin that had salads on their menu as a main entree. We each got a different salad and their salads were very fresh, tasty and filling. Since we were there during lunch, they had a great lunch menu that included dessert. Their desserts were amazing as well. We came to find that Dublin has really good Italian food and desserts! Definitely would visit this restaurant again. We came back a year later and we were excited to go back to this restaurant. They were incredibly rude to us and made us feel very uncomfortable. Tried here yesterday and the food is delicious! They have a separate allergens menus which has vegan cheese and gluten free pizza! We tried the vegan pizza, spaghetti and garlic bread and all of it was so good! The service is great just enough attention but then they leave you alone at the right time! When in Liffey Valley today and wanting something different for lunch we went outside and from the choice of 3/4 restaurants we settled on Zizzi . Met at the door by a very friendly and attentive waitress who showed us to a window table . The decor is really relaxing in a very rustic nature Browns and reds.An open kitchen with a wood fired pizza oven . Extensive drinks menu wine and cocktails though no alcohol free beer . The one they had was 0.05% , I hope I got that right and as I was driving couldn't take the chance . My wife had a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc , I think waitress said that was 275 mls . This was the eye opener when got the bill .LARGE glass was €9.75 considering a decent bottle Chilean in supermarkets is €10 imo this was way over priced . So to the food . A lot of choices usual starters , garlic bread , bruschetta etc , pizzas , pasta dishes risotto etc.something for everyone. My wife garlic bread to start with a lovely crisp base . It couldn't be garlicky enough for us but we enjoyed it . I say we as it's big enough for 2 . I had a small calamari with a garlic mayonnaise with which were cooked really well . A small slice of lemon with this dish would be nice . My wife had a delicious goats cheese ravioli . The ravioli was green as it was made with some herb which I can't remember . Her plate was clean so that says a lot . I had cannelloni stuffed with crab in a nice cream sauce . This was very tasty . I wasn't aware this was a chain restaurant so taking that in to account was pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the food . Apart from the wine , we had to ask for black pepper and weren't offered any parmigiana , these are minor things which can t be righted easily . As said earlier waitress was friendly, welcoming seems to be on her own but with the amount of people in no one was waiting long time . She was friendly, and said as it was our first visit she hoped to see us again . Would we go again , Yes but think there are more authentic Italian restaurants in Dublin . €60 including a massively overly priced glass of wine . read more

Zizzi is a new addition to the Pembroke District in dundrum shopping centre. Alongside it is Jamie's Italian and there's a milanos nearby so if you like Italian food your in the right place! The decor is gorgeous and you can see the kitchen and the very few staff behind it cooking. The place was packed but the waitress was quick when taking the orders for drinks and food. After looking through the menu (which took a while), it was hard to make a decision. It's literally a three page menu. I hate too much choice because I want everything!! I went for some cheese fondue and a pizza with fig, smoked mozzarella, pancetta and balsamic onions. The fondue was average but the pizza stole the show. Pity it took over an hour to come to the table. My child's pasta was served after my food came so she was left looking at ours which is not good. I couldn't finish the big pizza so they do takeout boxes or half pizzas if you don't want the whole thing. I wouldn't rush back unless I looked inside and the place was empty, in hopes of having a quicker meal. read more

Walked past it the other night with a friend after seeing a film at the Sugar Club. We were hungry but had no idea where we wanted to eat. Having never noticed this before (didn't it used to be Pizza Hut?) we decided to give it a go. We got a table straight away on a Saturday night which was a pleasant surprise. Our server was right over to get our drink order. Service remained good from start to finish! We got some deep fried lasagna bites for a starter. Of the two mains, the one with the wild boar meatballs was fantastic! The ravioli was ok, nothing to rave about but not bad. It just wasn't as good as the meatballs! They had a great selection on the dessert menu- my friend got ice creams and they were fab. I had a coffee and it was made perfectly and served in a pretty cool glass. Overall, not bad! I was familiar with the chain in the UK. This is their first restaurant in Ireland and I was keen to try it out. I booked a table for two online on their very comprehensive website and arrived in time. It was busy but not full. We were shown to our table immediately and informed that, as it was their first night trading, our meal would be comped together with the first drink. 'And please forgive any delays or service issues as we're all still training'. I had no intention of reviewing on Yelp in fairness but, also in fairness, we were suitably impressed so they deserve some kudos. Service was friendly and attentive with our server, clearly new to the role, passing her first test with flying colours. So to the food. We had garlic bread and frito misso for starters. Really good I felt. We both ordered their massive pizza rusticanas for main. I had the picante version - hot and spicy - whilst my companion had the pollo version. Again, both really good. My companion couldn't finish hers and we took 50% of it home - somewhat embarrassed it has to be said because it was free. We shared a carafe of Pinot Grigio which was crisp and just the right, cold temperature. The thing is it can only get better even though I was struggling to find anything with which to find fault. The mozzarella on my pizza was a bit runny? Doh! Ironically in the unique circumstances, I think price might be an issue. Our pizzas were €16.25 and €16.75 respectively but, if shared, would be good value. This will be a regular eatery for is in future. Well done Zizzi. read more

Our hotel guy recommended O'Neills Pub. We went there an it is like a cafeteria. We decided to go up a block to an Italian restaurant. Zizzi was the best!! The service was great. The food was awesome. Try the cheese topped bread with balsamic glaze. If you are looking for something other then Pub food it is the best! read more

We started with the Bruschetta it was Outstanding! 3 of us each had a pasta dish, one had soup. Very Very good! I highly recommend this place! We had their sorbet and gelato for dessert with cappuccino's as good as any I've had in Italy!! read more

What a fantastic addition to the Dundrum food scene with super friendly staff, amazing food in a spacious and cool space. We had a family night out with everyone trying something and we were very impressed especially with the portion sizes which are very generous and the selection is great. For a Tuesday evening we didn't think we needed to book but we were glad that one of us did as the place was buzzing, the service was fast, efficient and friendly and we enjoyed looking at the kitchen team preparing our meals. I went for the Frito misso starter and the chicken risotto both were really good especially with sharing a lovely carafe of wine and then topped it off with the chocolate torte and coffee. I really think that these guys have nailed it, the service, selection, portion sizes and pricing... Well done Zizzi, we'll definitely be back! read more

Went to liffey valley tonight, there are only complaints, my advice is Do Not Go. An absolute disgrace from service to food they where the worst we have ever experienced. Five ladies out for a Christmas catch up extremely disappointed. Starters arrived for four people one left for fifteen minutes, then about an hour and a quarter late for mains, no apologies one main meal was frozen inside, we where asked if we wanted dip which we waited over twenty minutes for and didn't arrive. We ordered drinks that arrived after we asked for a manager, still no apologies. The manager arrived we informed him of the issues and told him the drinks where 20 minutes late he informed us that it was 11 minutes completely untrue it may have been 11 min since the server put the order in but not us. The arrogance was still not corrected until we informed him that we still had not received an apology. An absolute disgrace avoid at all costs, we left our food on the table and drinks in his hand. Went to Zizzi's Dundrum yesterday evening (around 7.30). Off hand I was really impressed with the variety on the menu and the general look of the restaurant, however a friend of mine was a little less impressed the selection of 'healthy options' so she decided on the short rib, she was sadly told that there was none left so she said fair enough I'lll have the chicken instead, again to be told there was none left. Given that it was 7.45 on a Wednesday I would of thought seeing the amount of people coming in for dinner that evening and as a midweek treat many people do go out I was very surprised a restaurant could run out of chicken. That same friend then had to settle for a salad (which just looked like a bowl of lettuce, very under-dressed and not worth the €13.65 she paid!). I ordered a skinny pizza which was horrendously over-priced as well! The waiter had made no effort to accommodate my friend who obviously wanted a proper meat dish, we quickly ate and left for home...with a stop off in Tesco on the way. Safe to say I wouldn't recommend this over the many, tastier and reasonably priced places in Dundrum and would be very hesitant on returning anytime soon! read more
