My experience here is normally great but not today. I left a note in my drop off bag with instructions on how I want my clothes done. I do this all the time and I get my clothes the same way every time. I asked them not to use starch on any of my clothes and to crease all my pants and jeans. Today none of that was done and the person who was checking me out wanted me to take some of my clothes home and leave the pants until tomorrow but I insisted that I pick up everything tomorrow. Upon further checking my shirts that he wanted me to take was starched very stiff. I'm very in satisfied with my service today. read more

Sorry to see others had a negative experience with this business. I use their services at least 2 or 3 times a month and I'm very impressed with the way my clothing items have been dry cleaned and nicely pressed. They went extra lengths to remove black oil paint from my khaki dress trench coat...the remaining tiny spots are hardly detectable. The manager gave me a great deal on pressing new white draperies...8 panels, 108" length. I highly recommend this business! read more

This review warrants zero stars. Just using it to warn the others. I brought in a queen size comforter with a stain on it after my dog had had a small accident. I was working with another cashier when another cashier next to us rudely interrupted and basically shouted, saying they do not clean waste stains of any kind. I scoured their corporate policy, seeing as this was clearly untrue, and there is no such policy that states they don't clean those kinds of stains. It was a small urine stain. I will never be returning to this location as the exchange was handled, rudely and will be taking my business to a local cleaners instead. I hate to trash any establishment but this one deserve all the trash being thrown at them. This place is one of the absolute worst. Customer service is as worst as it can get in this particular Zips. I have been burned not one not 2 but 5 times at this place and I know, shame on me. I always give a business the benefit of the doubt because I know mistakes are inevitable but this Zips just don't care about their customers, well at least not me. Every time I would take my jeans I would ask for heavy starch and absolutely no creases in my jeans (I know I'm old school with the starch but front creases like the 70s, come on folks). The when I go to pickup my items, pants are not starched and worst they are fully creased. Then when I complained in a very calm manner, employees and manager are looking at me as if Im the problem. They have lost 2 of my garments and almost a 3rd. I went back up there as I have done for the other 2 times to see if they located my garment and they asked me to come to the back to see if I recognize any of the many unclaimed garments they had hung up. Sure enough my garment was there but unfortunately for the other 2 times, it was unsuccessful. They are very rude and very poor attitude. So I decided to give Zips another try at another location in Bowie not far from the Gambrills location. Surprisingly, as soon as you walk in the door, I was greeted with a gracious smile and hello. This was totally welcoming from the poor attitude and unprofessionalism from the Gambrills location. As usual I had my jeans that I wanted heavy starch and absolutely no creases along with a few more clothing I want cleaned. So I said let me not get too happy yet until my items are ready for pickup. The next day went to pickup my laundry and I have to say this one got it right the first time. I am truly happy with the results here at my new home. The moral of this story is, we the customers just want good business for you to stay in business. I dont want the Gambrills Zip to go out of business but corporate needs to take a good look at the business pratice at this location and look at the hires because this place treat customers (not saying all customers) but some customers like me very poor. read more

I'm shocked at the bad reviews for this location. I have been using Zips in Gambrills for going on 6 years now. Maybe I just am lucky I suppose, but my clothes and comforters and even coats have never come back to me in less than good condition after being dropped off. The crew have always been accommodating and professional. I have a full time life and a death in the family and wasting more time with the gross ineptitude of Zips simply isn't a priority. When a business makes an error, they should fix it swiftly and without additional inconvenience to the customer - it's super simple. Sadly, I've since learned that many of my neighbors have had similar experience with you guys. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. The quality of their work was always a little poor, but they were cheap and convenient. I accepted it and that's on me. However, it reached a new height when they ruined three of my shirts. They went in with no stains or issues and came out with yellow marks and stains ironed into my cloths. I did not notice right away because I did not ware these items daily or even weekly. When I did take them out for use, I noticed the issues. I brought them into the Gambrills location with other items expecting them to correct the problem. First the manager said, "the items were off the hangers, and they had no responsibility for correcting anything" "Once the item is off the hanger, they have no more responsibility. I also showed him the tags they placed on the shirts were still intact and on the items. I am not sure how you get dressed but I remove my clothes from hangers to put them on. Then he went on to say it was also my fault for not bringing them in sooner. Please remember the shirts had no stain when I brought them in, why would I check for stains when I pick them up? The manager was arrogant and condescending to put it kindly. I would highly recommend you not use this business because you will end up in my situation sooner rather than later. read more

They did the same thing 2 more times until I spoke with the seamstress and then she said that I needed to pay more because they had charged me wrong initially. 3. Brought in Football Jersey for cleaning and letters on the back faded out. 4. Shirts are pressed but ring around the collar never comes out. 5. Don't know if it is possible to give less than 1 Star. Took my duvet in to get cleaned. They told me it would be 3-5 days. I called they said it was ready but when I got there they couldn't find it. The manager (I guess) went into the back and came out and said that he called the lady that handles the comforters but she is out sick and asked if I could come back the next day. I show back up the next day and they still can't find it. The manager was trying to give me someone else's duvet because the ticket fell off of it and they didn't know who it belonged to. I really wanted to use this cleaners because it was so convenient. However, after over a year of trying to make it work, I have to report that this was the worst experience I have ever had with a dry cleaner. The worst. The collars of my shirt can become soiled, particularly on my white shirts. When every white shirt I picked up was virtually as soiled as it was when I dropped it off, I showed them to a gentleman who said he was the owner. He told me there was nothing he could do. He said the only thing to do was to spray the shirt collars with Spray and Wash before I brought them in and that if I did that, he would get the collars clean. I did this a couple of times and found that the shirts were moderately cleaner. My wife took a couple of loads of my white shirts to another cleaner. They were more expensive, but they got the shirt collars clean as new - without the Spray and Wash! Thinking that ZIPS was worth trying again (because of the savings) I treated the collars and gave them another try. This afternoon I picked up my shirts only to find that the collars seemed to have not been touched - despite the treatment and asking that attention be given to the collars. The young man who helped me looked at the collars and agreed that they needed to be cleaned again. That same owner came out of the back and declined to re-do the shirts, saying that because of my oily skin, there was nothing that could be done to clean the shirts. Clearly, the quality of the product is reflected in the quality of the owner. They don't deserve the one star! I will be happy to pay more for clean shirts. read more

The franchise owner Abdul, destroyed my blouse, then accused me of dropping it off with holes. Stating people drop their trash off all the time and ask him to clean it. The straps were destroyed and the front was melted with holes. I will report them to the better business bureau. Abdul the franchise owner, has absolutely no integrity. He was demeaning and lacks accountability. Save your money and do not use them. Crofton cleaners is nearby and have amazing customer service. Great cleaners, never had issues, in before 9am out the same day after 5pm. Paints, shirts, suits, same day table clothes, other larger items take a few days longer. Only negative...they've never answered the phone when I call. Just make sure you have cash if you plan to spend less than $10 cause you cannot use debit/credit otherwise and they have one of those old school ATM's that charge high fees. read more

The quality of their work and their customer service is horrible. They ruined two of my shirts in three weeks by spotting the shirts with their chemicals. When I discussed this matter with the manager, he became confrontational and attempted to blame the shirts for the issue. The manager could not have been more condescending or misinformed about the issues with his operation. This is not a Zips problem as I have used their services at multiple locations. This is a problem with this location. Considering the absolute discourteous and argumentative nature of their manager, it is obvious where the problem with this operation lies; terrible leadership resulting in a lack of quality control and customer-focused service. Well, again, the quality of their cleaning is not the issue. At my last visit, the problem was the hateful demeanor of the employees; this time it was their competence and helpfulness - or lack thereof. Last week, I received a phone call from them, stating that they had a garment of mine that had been there since November, 2013, when I moved out of the area. I called up to request more information, and was told that no, they actually had 4 garments of mine; one that had been dry-cleaned and three other shirts that had been laundered. This morning, one week after that phone call, I called them to confirm that they still had those garments. Although it was after 9 a.m., no one answered the phone. Still, I decided to drive 35 miles there to pick up what I had apparently left behind, and when I went to the counter, I was told that no, they only had one of those garments. When a supervisor went to look for them more carefully, he disputed that there had been 4 garments, even though my account as listed on the computer - and the printed receipt - affirmed otherwise. Essentially, he said, well, no, since those were here from 2013, we just don't have them anymore. While I recognize that dry cleaning businesses are not obligated to keep customer garments after a certain period of time, it would foster positive customer relations if they notify customers before donating their garments, and verify that they actually have customer garments on hand before telling customers that they do. Terrible "professional" cleaners. They left more dirt/spots/lint/wrinkles AFTER cleaning and pressing than I wanted removed in the first place. My pressed shirts looked like they were worn thru a car wash and hung to dry. The owner also lied to my wife and insulted my company. I'll NEVER go there again. Surely you can find a better place than this - shouldn't be too hard. P.S. While ironing my "pressed" shirts I noticed deodorant residue still in the material. Arrived Wednesday after 5pm to pick up my comforter and it wasn't ready. The associate apologized and I said I would come back on Saturday. Came back Saturday and NO ONE CAN FIND MY COMFORTER!!! How does this even happen? The associate told me he would have the owner call me and I have not received a call back. Each time I call, no one answers and the voicemail is full. I emailed the owner and waiting for a response. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will never patronize this location again. If I don't hear back soon, I will be seeking legal advice. This is ab Update: I called back the following week and my comforter was located. I was told it had been overlooked. My husband needed a suit cleaned in a pinch so we decided to go to Zips as a last resort. I've been to other locations and have had shirts cleaned so I figured they could accomplish this task. Wrong. Well, what I didn't know what that hubs was going to ask them to alter the pants too. I would've advised him against it but once he told me, I hoped for the best. Fast forward to pick-up day and the pants were not let out a size or cleaned, but instead lengthened and the cuffs removed! He asked for his money and pants back.
