Purchased my car certified car from a dealership that came with an aftermarket sunroof that this company installed. My car has been back a 5 times since I've purchased it for leaks in the sunroof. Obviously no one knows what's they are doing here. Now my sunroof has a constant rattle from the sunroof. At this point I feel helpless since no one can fix constant issues. Lesson learned. Brought in older Toyota whose radio speakers had been on and off for months. Mike looked at the car and opined that it was likely that the car needed new speakers, which would cost about $175.00. Gave the go-ahead for the work to be done....Here's the kicker.....4 hours later Mike calls and says that a wire had rotted out and he was replacing it....$50.00!! In this day and age, where can you find someone so honest?? If I could give more than 5 stars I would....BRAVO!! read more

The dealer I purchased car from had them install Apple CarPlay in my car. Nothing but issues

I went there to have an ignition interlock installed. It took about 4 1/2 hours to install what should have taken an hour at most. The device worked for a while until one of the wires that powers it came loose and fell off due to the sloppy installation. The manager was not much help only said tow the car here and we'll look at it. I refused to pay $150 to tow the car there when the interlock company will only reimburse $100 for a tow. I would recommend taking your vehicle to a shop that uses professional installers. read more

Had an amp installed here. The person I dealt with was a jerk. Very rude and condescending. I needed the work done and had blocked out the time, so I didn't want to have to start over with someone else. I will never use them again. A few months later I had a problem with the installation which ended up costing me more money. Not sure why they think this is a good business model - rude to the customer and shoddy work. I would give the place zero stars but yelp does not allow you to do that. Save yourself the headache and the money and go somewhere else. read more

My complaint stems from a customer service point of view since I did not have anything installed. Here is an account of my experience. I was told, by more than one employee, that they would install a starter unit I purchased on my own for my wife's car. However, apparently their store policy is that they do not install products they do not sell at their store. Although this is a reasonable policy, I was never told this until after I had already spent a week trying to schedule an appointment to bring in the car. I call to see if there was an opening for a particular day and I was quickly (and rudely) told that unless it's a particular brand they wouldn't install it. Why then did I get a quote from one the employees on how much and how long it would take? Here is where the real complaint lies. What's the point in being rude to a customer who was obviously given wrong information? This information came from your establishment, therefore, the only apt response should be an apology. But instead I got rudeness and no install. Bottom line: Don't waste your time with a business who doesn't care about keeping good customer relations. There are other places that will perform the same service and have friendlier people. read more

Very rude people, I had a dui interlock breathalyzer device installed by the state of nj...however I'm suppose to visit a interlock shop monthly to service the device... why everytime I went to these people for service, they took long, charged me more than the other shops did & had a disrespectful way of speaking and dealing with me...I only kept going back because it was closest to my home between handling my business and going to work...however every little think I would ask to make convo with the guys on the job they would answer with an attitude and speak in such tone... so one day I went and I waiting 35+ mins to get serviced...it's an audio shop all they have to do is plug in the wires to my car and leave it and go back to customers ...that they couldn't even do for me but did for someone else... read more

Just a quick note...... I purchased a new car (my son's car was coming off lease so I decided to give him my old not-so-old car). This past week, he had a back-up camera (with a new radio included) installed in my old car and I had a dashcam installed in my new car.....all done at Zippos of course. As in the past, the installation work is total perfection (honestly the backup camera/radio in the Rogue looks like it should have always been there) and my dashcam in my new Jeep records front and interior/rear views w/ optional audio. Went in asked about a service confirmed that I would come in next day. Sent my mother in. Guy tells my mother he's going to have to charge her $350. My mom calls me I call back to confront the guy for lying . Guy is embarrassed . We end up getting the service for $45 which apparently he told my mother they didn't do. Lied to my poor and tried to get her for everything she had . Poor customer service. These guys are crooks. read more

I like to spend my money locally So after checking around I called to get a price on installing a remote start . The price they quoted me based on the same info I gave everyone else (less actually ) it was more then double the other two estimates. I told him this and asked why ? the person became defensive . I explained if they could give me a reasonable explanation I would listen ,also they never inquired as to the make of the product or type . They just continued with a non descriptive explanation about them being a specialty store and the Computer on the vehicle being sensitive. Computers are sensitive ? Really? it's 2018 I think most people understand computers . I found this comment condescending, We agreed to disagree ! Perhaps they just don't need the work idk , Buyer beware ! read more

These reviews are completely false. I myself read the reviews here before trying them out and it was the worst thing I could've done. A job that should've taken 1 hour 1.5 hours MAX took them 2.5 hours and at the end I was pissed! I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. I purchased a retrofit kit as a gift for my husband so that our car radio would play podcasts from his ipod.  After two years of sitting around in the box, Zippos installed it but had all kinds of problems due to the manufacturer's assembly error. Not only did they install it and spend all kinds of time with the manufacturer (in California) to get it installed and working with both radio and xm, but they spent over 5 hours working on over two days and didn't change their original estimate. Customer service was exceptional and it also gave me a chance to explore the fantastic new Shop Rite across the street! Way to go Mike and crew. read more

I used a groupon deal to get a remote starter installed. It was $99 for the groupon and then I think I paid $75 extra to have the button also unlock the car. I'm writing this review a few months after the install because I wanted to make sure everything worked. I am glad to say it's been working amazingly on my 07 Hyundai Sonata. The guys told me 2+ hours but I only waited for about an hour and was on my way. It is totally worth it for my early 5am shifts at the hospital on those cold winter days. I'd recommend Zippo's Belleville for their remote starter service! Good job guys! read more

Zippo's is a super busy shop with good reason. I made a 9am appointment and arrived along with a slew of others patiently waiting for the doors to open. They installed a backup camera and display and did an outstanding job. My car was brand new and I wanted to be sure that the workmanship was outstanding, which it was. I got a call when my car was ready for pick up. The price was fair. If you need a "wire guy" this is the place to go, in fact rumor has it the dealers sub out work to them. read more

I read all these reviews and just laughed. i can tell everyone on here that these reviews were made by them. this place is horrendous , the customer support is non existent . 2012 my car got broken into at the dealer ship, the dealership has a contract with these monkeys so they installed the pioneer head unit into my car. i got my car back , AM/FM didn't work (due to not hooking it up right). i didn't care because i had my iPod hooked up. a week later the radio cut out (do to not hooking it up right). so anyways that was the first time i started having problems. i talked to mike and he took care of the problem, he sent someone out to the dealership directly. 2013, my radio cuts out AGAIN. so i called zippos directly , and had them fix there problem that they couldn't correct the first time. NOW a year later, my radio cuts out AGAIN. obviously im going to be annoyed/ this time i pulled the radio out so i can see the connections myself (i wasn't going to repair it myself , i was going to let them fix it ), can i tell you it looked like a 10 year old was giving electrical tape and zip ties. i called them again, i never got such an attitude from anyone especially from a shop that states theyre one of the best shops around. i went there today and the guy JAMES, was just a nasty guy, the monkey was trying to tell me its going to take 5 hours so i will have to come back later on. i knew this guy was only saying that because he did not want to be bothered, not only did you hear it in the tone of his voice, but his body language , it was extremely rude . i tried getting in touch with the owner himself, but James kept avoiding it and making it worse. i don't get what kind of shop is being ran over there. i will never bother with these guys again over in BELLEVILLE. that shop is going to go under water like all these other electronic shops . where is the customer loyalty? ill take my business somewhere else, i will also let everyone i know about this place and how horrible this place is. it doesn't make any sense. this is a true honest review from a ex customer that will never do any business with this shop , and i will never recommend this shop to anyone i know. the owner is a good guy he will take care of you, just doesnt have the right people working for him, its a damn shame read more

My salesman was James and he was as rude as they come. He still wont help me fix the issues or even answer my phone call. Trying to speak with the owner is impossible too. We had our Satellite radio installed there several years ago. It was having connection problems and the location where it was installed wasn't very convenient. They were able to move it to a more optimal position as well as fix the connection. Great customer service! read more

We were working in NJ, purchased a new vehicle, and had Zippo's install a car alarm system, keyless entry, and remote start to our 2015 Jeep Wrangler. They did a Fantastic job, and we are so happy and spoiled with our upgraded features that did not come installed with our factory vehicle. The level of customer service and support even after you receive installation, and or make a purchase, is Outstanding! Zippo's has a Team of very knowledgeable, professional people, who go out of their way to assist and support the customers after install/purchase. We live over 1,000 miles away from Zippo's, and recently had some questions that required technical support. Anthony, at Zippo's, went out of his way to call us and walk us through every step, and asked us to call him back to ensure everything was up to par. Anthony's positive, helpful attitude, and expert knowledge and experience helped us immensely. Now mind you, this was the day before Thanksgiving, their shop was very busy, and yet Anthony, and the owner, Mike Zippo, stayed in contact with us to make certain we were taken care of.
