We brought our 2011 Ford Escape here for a remote starter. We dropped it off for Sunday installation. We received a call from the owner of Sound City on Sunday stating he needed to have the module for the vehicle "flashed" and he couldn't have it done until the next day. We pick it up on Monday and bring it home. Tuesday my wife takes the car to work and calls me to tell me that she can't open the trunk with the car running anymore; so I call the genius at Sound City and tell him what is going on and he tells me to bring it back and he'll check it to see why this feature no longer works. We bring the car back Tuesday and he starts looking at the key fob, hitting buttons, closing the doors, shifting between park and drive and back again....pushes some more buttons, turns off the car, looks under the dashboard... After we went through this for a while he asks for the owners manual, so I give him the manual for the remote start and he says, no, the one for the car. I said to him what's that going to tell you ? it's not the car it's the remote start doing all this....Finally, he tells me I have to leave it with him until Wednesday so he could figure out what happened and why his remote start system took over the car. So, he has the car all day Wednesday and I call him at 4 pm and he tells me he's not done with it and he can't figure out why this is happening and there is no reason why this is happening and that there is no feature in his system that would cause this. ....if all that wasn't enough he wanted us to sign a paper that said we "wanted a feature that wasn't available on our car and that he removed the remote start and returned the vehicle to us in perfect condition". We refused to sign that paper because we did not yet know if everything was working so he refused to issue a refund. We were forced to dispute the charge with our credit card company and they in turn contacted his bank. All I wanted was a simple 1 button remote starter and they couldn't even do that. read more
