Tartine Quiche Lorraine

Had business to do in this area and so happy we chose this cool all day Brunch Spot. That Tartine Loraine was everything brunch is. We set at the bar and could look outside. The food selection is very vast.

Came here for a nice solo date after seeing a show.. and just ended with a poor experience. Upon arrival the host was welcoming. He asked if bar seating was okay and I said yes, however I was seated by the POS which is my least favorite seating but even with the constant waiter traffic, it wasn't too bothersome. I ordered the grilled salmon and the flourless chocolate cake. Both were delicious! HOWEVER, the ratatouille was a pile of slimey gooey mush siting on top of the bed of rice, under the salmon. I tried to eat it, but it just was so off putting I couldn't stomach it and pushed it to the side. Now, the real issue was my bar tender / server. After placing my order (I ordered my entree and dessert at the same time, no drinks), he NEVER came back to me. No one asked how I was doing, if everything was okay, etc. I was there long enough for at least one check in. He walked passed twice I believe, but no eye contact lol. I've never experienced that. I had to ask someone else for my check. I asked the person if I could pay via the inKind app, he said yes, gave me my check number and told me how.. but it looks like they still charged my card! So I'm hoping the pending transaction will be dismissed. Either don't sit at the bar here, or just don't come at all.

Perfect place to stop before a show in the area. The wait was not long but it was only me. The bar seemed to have spots open in decent time. Located near downtown theaters and shops, this can be a good date night or meeting spot. The music wasn't too loud so you can hold a conversation without yelling. I had the pepperoni flat bread which was perfectly cooked with crust edges. The cocktail was tasty.

Crispy Brussels Sprouts and short ribs

An intimate little French cafe where I enjoyed a nice anniversary dinner. It looks like its part coffee shop, part restaurant, part old-school LA bar, but tonight it was rather hot inside as we're in a bit of a heatwave. That didn't stop us from ordering the steamy provincial short ribs, cooked perfectly and paired with a delicious and crispy potato gratin. These were incredibly tender and savory. The Japanese sweet potato might have been even better though. Not particularly large but packed with flavor. A little yogurt adds even more sweetness. The Brussels sprouts were admittedly not my favorite. A bit too thick for me, which kept them from getting crispy. The pistachio flavor profile isn't really my favorite either. Despite the Brussels I still had a wonderful time here and our server was great. He was very personable and was QUICK to top off our wine. Loved him!

This restaurant is conveniently located right next to The United Theater on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles and provides the perfect ambiance for a pre-show meal. There is cozy seating inside and high top tables outside, which is where I dined. The service was unexpectedly fast, as I got quickly seated within five minutes of speaking with the front of house. I tried the delicious red pepper hummus and cheese dip, which came with delightfully toasted bread. I moved on to the seared cod, which came on a delish carrot based purée and also tried the mushroom pasta (which I added grilled shrimp too). The food came out pretty quickly and tasted phenomenal, each plate with a whirlwind of flavor. I'm very glad everything worked out timing-wise, as dinner did not take long at all before having plenty of time to make it to the comedy show just next door. I am excited to go back and try some of the other delightfully sounding plates on the menu. Needless to say, I will be back in the area and restaurant again ASAP.

Great experience here. Solid place for food and dates The aesthetic is simple and relaxed with district lighting focused at each table. It gives a nice ambiance. Food is great. Salmon was cooked well, as was the rice. Fries were amazing as well. My friend enjoyed the mussels Service was also good. Waiters were really attentive, patient, and gave solid recommendations

Really good, fresh food. Fun setting in the mall. Friendly and quick service. Perfect for a quick lunch over great food.

I came here before my concert next door. I arrived 15 minutes before 6pm and made it for their happy hour menu! Cute ambiance - love the indoor/outdoor feel. The shrimp taco was delicious! Everything that we ordered was actually good. If the fries are good, you know it's a good restaurant. Great place to have a drink and dinner before a show!

I had family lunch at Zinqué DTLA today. My Mom treated me for my birthday. Everything was delicious! I ordered the Blueberry Pancakes, and they were perfect -- not overly sweet and had a very healthy version of pancakes, wholesome flavor, which I really appreciated. I've recently stopped drinking soda and sugary snacks for my health and have been exercising daily to manage my blood sugar, so it was great to enjoy pancakes that felt light and healthy. My Mom had the Avocado Toast with a Decaf Americano, and I also ordered a Decaf Americano -- it was very good. My brother ordered the Scrambled Eggs and an Espresso, and he said his meal was delicious as well. The servers were very friendly, and the food and atmosphere were wonderful. I had a great experience overall! Cf) Just one thing ; One bite Fritata was $5. Wow. But, all of other food's price was very reasonable.

Rose L.

Would not recommend their charcuterie board, no cheese whatsoever. Came with pate, which was horrific and gross -- salami, mustard and jalapeños. Made for a very salty lunch. The steak was good but the chimmicurie was horrific -- cilantro floating in oil. Fries were okay, but sure they tasted better fresh. For $60, go elsewhere.

A beautiful and loved all-day open-concept restaurant in downtown for small plates, meals, craft cocktails, la colombe latte drinks, and more! I went to Zinqué few times now and always have a great time with friends. Their Le Breakfast Bowl is my go-to for lunch because its packed with veggies and just delicious! The bowl includes egg, quinoa, avocado, garbanzo beans, roasted cherry tomatoes, ninja radish, mixed greens, burrata, and is topped with miso-tahini dressing. I've tried their lattes here before as well and can't get enough of their iced Hazelnut Latte. It's perfectly sweet and packs the mid-day caffeine fix for me. A noteworthy fun dish I've had here is their Pork Belly Taco. It's a big-sized taco that is rich and packed with cubes of pork belly, and topped with carrots and cilantro for the perfect bite. I had one of these tacos and was full and satisfied. Everyone is very nice here and happy to get what you need. You pay at the counter first or you can sit at the table and order via the QR code. I'll definitely be returning and recommending Zinqué to many friends and coworkers for a great time!

Smoked Salmon Toast Avocado Toast* (V)
Bobby W.

Zinqué DTLA delivered a consistently enjoyable brunch experience with standout drinks and well-executed dishes. Highlights: The Baklava Latte was the clear winner--rich, nutty, and aromatic without being overly sweet. The Hojicha Latte was equally enjoyable: smooth, lightly roasted, and comforting. On the food side, the Smoked Salmon Toast was excellent, especially with the added fried egg, which brought extra richness and balance. The Avocado Toast (V) was generous and thoughtfully prepared, elevated by quality ingredients and great bread. What to note: Portions and pricing lean toward the upscale side, but the quality and execution largely justify it. Overall: Warm, attentive service and Zinqué's signature cozy-chic atmosphere make this a great spot for brunch, coffee, or a relaxed catch-up in DTLA. A place we'd happily return to.

Ask the Community - Zinqué

Do they have valet or their own parking lot?

Is there music or entertainment?

Do they have any vegan/plant-based options on the menu?

yes, there are a couple of options. You can also check on lezinque.com

Parking available? Or where to park the best?

Hello we don’t offer parking but there’s a few parking lots near the restaurants.

Is this place good for all ages?

I don't see why not .. although I don't see a kids menu. The menu provides burgers and fries at the very least for younger people.

How are they operating during COVID?

They have plenty of patio outdoor seating available on the sidewalk

How late is the kitchen open?

Website says an hour before they close.

Is there a happy hour menu? What are the deals for food and drink?

Hi Erica - yes we have happy hour Monday through Friday from 4pm-6:30pm. The menu includes $3-$9 bites (tacos, flatbreads, toasts) and $5-9 beer, wine and cocktails. Thanks!

Do they have happy hour? If so, what are the hours?

Hi Helly - happy hour is 4pm-6:30pm on weekdays. Thanks!

Make sure to hang onto your ID, stay plenty hydrated & be ready to pace yourself... Cause we are about to Hit the bar running and go full throttle with some virtual bar hopping. But first, let's see just how many styles of bars there really are. -Ahh the classic, no-frills Dive Bar -The Cocktail Bar/The Martini Bar -The Sports bar, The BeerGarden -The Pub, The Tavern, The Biker Bar (make sure you wear your best leather pants) -The Hotel Bar, The Rooftop Bar, The Lounge -The Night Club, The Comedy Club, The Karaoke Bar -The Tiki Bar, The Wine Bar -The hidden Speakeasy (my personal Fav.) And of course, where even at 8am there's no judgement passed... -The Airport Bar. Speaking of Traveling... Bonus: Consider yourself lucky if your hotel room just happens to have a well-stocked mini bar. (These are getting fewer and fewer as I travel) Yeah, each bar listed above has its own vibe, and depending on your mood, your own individual style or even what kind of night out on the town you are looking to have... The type of bar you choose is important. But sometimes, the Bar Chooses You! Bar Magnolia quietly enters the chat. It was October 11th, 2025 and my wife & I just checked into Hotel Figueroa in DTLA. (EPIC REVIEW Coming Soon!!!) While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to check out the Hotel Bar Lounge... First thought, Color me Impressed! High ceilings, Natural lighting, classy decor, comfy couches... Yeah, take your time with that room, we'll wait! So we plopped down onto their sofa, waited for a cocktail menu, and let the "we left the kids at home with Grandma; let's enjoy being kid-free for the night begin". $18.00 cocktails....Lets Goooo!! Looking back at the Photos, I can't exactly recall what we ordered... Was it a whiskey sour? Was it a paper plane?? Honestly, Who cares! They tasted great. I was sitting across from a beautiful woman. And we were responsibly adulting. What more could a guy ask for?? I'm glad you asked! After a long car ride in, sipping on water, then the first few sips of my cocktail, I suddenly had to go... Luckily, the restrooms are located just adjacent to the bar area and DAMN are they clean!! Hey, if a bar restroom is well taken care of, you know the place has Class.... And Bar Magnolia has the Class to Match! Of course, there is bar stool seating at the bar... Middle Man (Aka waiting for your server to come check back in) In addition to the bar top stools, there are also low top tables, and a few couch-chairs with a low top table for more intimate conversations. Besides those $18 craft cocktails, a short, well Curated list of bubbles, vino and draft beers are all up for grabs. Unfortunately, we had stopped to eat before we arrived (bad move on our part), but next time, and THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME, we will definitely partake in their food menu (cause damn, did it look GOOD!) So whether you are a guest of Hotel Figueroa, you are leaving the Crypto Arena after a concert and want to paint the town red, or you are simply just wanting to sit, relax and enjoy a nice cocktail at a classy, upscale, but not so pretentious Cocktail Lounge... Bar Magnolia is your place! Well, it's almost closing time, they are about to call for Last Call, so order us another round, bottoms up and Cheers to us!!!

Once there, I was told happy hour is only Monday through Thursday. I pulled up their own website and showed it to the server. The response? A shrug. No apology, no explanation, no effort to make it right. This is straight-up false advertising, and the lack of accountability made it worse. If you're going to change your happy hour, update your website and train your staff to handle it professionally. I shouldn't have to argue with a bar over their own posted information. Won't be back.

Veronica at the bar was fantastic and made us drinks just to our order. Supper knowledgable, helpful and kind. Sorry for the long narrative:…read more 1) I planned out a special night for my wife throughout all of Level 8 2) Had reservations set at Lucky Mizu for Dinner to Mr. Wanderlust for Cocktails and Entertainment and then to Sinners and Santos for Drinking and Dancing for Latin Night 3) Showed up for our 6:45 PM reservation at Lucky Mizu but was turned away 3 times stating they didn't have seats available. After being seated 40 minutes later, service took 20 minutes to take our order, and another 30 minutes to be served. Food was 'okay', there was no entertainment, and multiple customers were unhappy with similar slow service... but some of them were comped parts of their meals.. we didn't even get a sorry until we spoke to the manager on our way out, expressing the reason was they had no idea it would be this busy on a Thursday (they take reservations, so...), and also blamed an 'all you can eat promotion' they promoted earlier, and they only had two serves on staff that night. 4) We were late to Mr. Wanderlust, but were luck to get two seats at the bar after another couple left. We order two cocktails and a coffee... and were charged just over $140. Then, we were asked to move because they wanted to take our seats. We asked about the bill to the bartendar, and she expressed that since she didn't take our original order, she couldn't help us. She simply just had us stand there. We were not going to pay since it seemed way off... until finally we spoke to a guy walking by. We showed him our ticket/receipt and said out loud, "this isn't right". He came back quickly with a revised bill of almost $120. This was still far too high, but no one else seemed interested in helping us find resolve, so we ate it since we didn't want to be late for part 3 of the night. 5) Hoping to salvage the night with drinks and dancing... we tried to find the entrance to Sinners and Santos for their advertised Latin night. We had made reservations here too, and had full confirmation of the reservation... BUT, after finally being directed to the entrance (outside on the patio), they were closed. No sign of why and no one who worked at the other locations had a reason, but they were just simply closed. 6) So, after paying $35 for parking, about $140 in cocktails and food while waiting for our initial reservation at Golden Hour and Que Barbaro, $150+ for dinner at Lucky Mizu, and $120 at Mr. Wanderlust... approximately $500 total... we didn't even get to dance. Maybe this place had a bad night, but based on what the workers said, and how they treated us... it sure seems like the norm. Don't get me wrong, the place is cool... some really great experiential elements and nice photo ops... but I would have had a much better time somewhere else. Super disappointed in this place.

We were able to get a seat on the coach and order drinks from the bar relatively quickly. Prices were pretty typical of LA ($18-25 a cocktail) but I would say I probably won't come back this late as it's in a shadier part of town. They have a bouncer and it was fine inside, but it's not a place where you can bar hop if that's what you're looking for as the area is seedy. Would be interested to try the food next time, but again, the safety and comfort of the light of day.

NOVEMBER 26.2025…read more I've been through many iterations of The Library Bar over the years... from small and cozy secret bar for those that work in the looming skyscrapers of Downtown LA to being some noisy urban hip hop affair that served godawful drinks (see my past review!), and on back to being a calm and casual neighborhood bar again. The interior never changes... dark... illuminated by candlelight... the bust of Shakespeare over the fireplace, the shelves of old books-- all of it remains intact. But this latest Library Bar seems to have finally dialed in what was always sorely missing in that it showcases a conscientious staff that all seem to know how to mix drinks while treating the customer well by leaving them be. On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.

I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.

My girlfriend and I ordered two Old Fashioneds made with Ilegal Mezcal. The bottle being used was nearly empty, and as professionals in the hospitality industry, we are very familiar with proper pour standards. It was clear there wasn't enough product left for two consistent drinks. The bartender, Bryan, prepared both cocktails without using a jigger. When I politely asked why one drink appeared noticeably lighter than the other and why he wasn't measuring the pour, he smirked, gave a slight laugh, and responded that he "knows the exact measurement of his glasses." The tone and gesture felt dismissive and mocking rather than professional. Instead of addressing a reasonable concern with transparency, the response came across as defensive and condescending. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added, bringing the total to $71.12 for two inconsistent Old Fashioneds. Precision, consistency, and respect are basic standards in this industry. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that. We won't be returning.

I absolutely loved this place and will definitely be going back! I went at night, and the…read moreatmosphere and the view from the rooftop were amazing. The service was also pretty fast. As for the drinks, I had their Long Island, carrot margarita, and paloma. All three were excellent and tasted wonderful, but the carrot margarita was my favorite. The people I went with loved it too, so be sure to try it when you're there. Overall, this was a great spot to hang out with friends and have a good time. Whether you want to dance or just sit and chill, you can't go wrong coming here.

Hi, I don't usually leave reviews, but after three separate visits, I felt it was necessary to…read moreshare my experience. A group of my friends and I have come here three different times, really wanting to like this place because the atmosphere is beautiful and lively. Unfortunately, each visit has been consistently disappointing due to the same bartender--a shorter male with visible tattoos and facial hair, who seems to regularly work one side of the bar. On all three occasions, we experienced being ignored while trying to order, even as other guests who arrived after us were served first. The first time, we were eventually told "you guys can wait" in a rude tone of voice while he continued taking other orders. The second time, we were never helped at all and had to move to another part of the bar, where a female bartender provided much better service. The third visit was the most concerning. When we tried to get his attention, he responded in a dismissive and rude tone, and as he walked away, we overheard him make an inappropriate comment about us under his breath calling us out of our name and we felt very disrespected so much so that we just left. We completely understand that weekends can get busy, but consistently dismissive and disrespectful service--especially across multiple visits--is not acceptable and we've also seen him be rude to other guests as well. Aside from this issue, the venue itself is great, which is why we gave it multiple chances. I really hope management can address this, as it impacts the overall appearance and experience of the establishment. Thank you.

The ambience depends on the time, it can be a chill bar before 10pm, and post 10 on the weekends it's more of a club atmosphere with a dj.

The entire bar is dark, mysterious with twinkle lights overhead. Like Las Vegas, once inside, it's hard to know if it's day or night outside. Only exception is in their outdoor patio mirrored on the sides like the hall at Versailles and sunlight coming in from above where smoking is allowed. We came early before 8pm during Happy Hour when non-members can enter with a person with a membership which allows 3 additional guests, and all guests are free to enter without a membership until 8pm. Our bartender was helpful and personable welcoming us and taking our orders. Under advice from Caña member Elite Yelper, Isobel L., who graciously took us under her wing, we ordered a shot of Nicaraguan Flor de Caña Rum aged 12 years that came with a cigarillo. We adjourned from the bar to the patio to smoke our mini-stogies and sipped our rum. We came early when there were very few members so it was the perfect place to talk and mellow out. Those who want a more animated crowd probably should come much later when lively dance music begins, and booties start to swing. Caña Rum Bar: 4 stars
