Zin Bistro is a quaint casual storefront restaurant that shouldn't be missed in Lodi. They serve good size portions of tasty American fare with European influences at a reasonable price. My attraction to Zin Bistro was the lamb shank on their menu, served while they last. It is probably the best lamb shank that I've ever had and the large portion was more than satisfying. Definitely glad I came hungry! I can certainly understand why the lamb shank is a very popular item at Zin Bistro and sells out often. Even if you don't care for lamb shank, Zin Bistro also serves equally deliciously prepared entrees on their menu with daily specials. They even offer a 3-course $20 prix fixe menu on Tuesdays. Adding their exceptional service, Zin Bistro offers a very enjoyable dining experience.

This place used to be fantastic the food was a little over cooked and I think they changed chefs. Hopefully they can turn it around.

There was a man standing across the street playing music and that was rather nice when I could hear him. Service was spotty. Had to wait awhile for food, water, after dinner drinks, and dessert. My husband enjoyed his dinner. My chicken Parmesan was okay. It did not taste like freshly breaded but more like pre frozen entree. I would not order it again. We were there for quite awhile. We saw friends go in after us and leave before us due to our slow service. I almost felt like they forgot about us outside. I love market tavern in Stockton and have always had great service and food there. Maybe this was just an off night. I will definitely come back and give them a chance to improve this so-so Yelp rating. I will definitely request to be seated inside!

We all agreed that she was lovely and were impressed with her energy when she came to greet us and throughout our meal. She was instrumental in us having such a good time. She made recommendations and answered all our questions about your menu for food and cocktails! We had the brussel sprouts, pork belly biscuits, sausage skewers and octopus salad for shareables. Then our entrees were 2 orders of scallops, salmon, duck and short ribs plus smashed potatoes, mushrooms and spinach. To end the meal, we tried the double chocolate cake, hazelnut affogato and hazelnut ice cream. EVERYTHING was fantastic - I usually have one thing to complain about but not tonight! If I had to it would be that I was stuffed at the end and couldn't eat more. Room 2 was a good vibe for us and was very quaint. It gave us the space to visit and enjoy like we were at home in our own dining room. We were able to hear the live music playing and it didn't overpower the acoustics of our room. If you haven't tried it, it's a must and I hope you have a similar if not same experience as we did. My New Yorkers absolutely loved my choice for dinner!!!! I didn't take photos of all the food but I got a couple. I was too excited to dig in. Thank you for a great time!

With live music playing nearby, it added to the overall setting. We started with the chicken croquettes--crispy and a strong opener. Drinks were mixed: I didn't care for the strawberry whiskey sour, but the staff handled it well and replaced it with a classic version that was much better. My partner's mimosa, topped with a dried pear, was a nice touch. For mains, the shakshuka was excellent. My mushroom-based eggs Benedict with truffle sauce was just okay--interesting, but not something I'd go out of my way to order again. Dessert (chocolate cake and coffee) was the highlight and a great finish. Service was attentive and accommodating throughout. Overall, a slightly upscale brunch spot that mostly delivers, with a few standout items and a few that fall short.

We came for Sunday lunch with family and were seated right away. Our waiter was great -- he checked in on us regularly and even refilled our drinks without us having to ask, which was a nice touch. I ordered the Greek salad with added salmon (+$8) and it was a great choice. The portion was generous and came with a slice of focaccia. The salad had mixed greens, olives, artichokes, feta, and red onion with a really tasty balsamic vinaigrette. Our table also ordered a cheese pizza, Caesar salad wrap, and the chicken pot pie. I had a bite of the pot pie and it was incredible -- definitely ordering that next time. Bonus: they offer a free wine tasting with the purchase of a meal, which is a fun extra. We got the foccicia bread basket as an appetizer and it was really good, herb, olive oil, soft bread like a sponge. The chicken pot pie was excellent, full of flavor, great crust and good filling. I got the French dip, it was probably one of the best I had in a while. The au jus was the best part, thick, flavorful along with a strong creamy horseradish. Service............. Not so much. For a big place that was maybe 40% occupied, it was soooooooooooooooooo slow. One server from what I see, 2 bussers, and 5 others standing around chatting. Took a good 30 mins to get seated (there was tables available), though we got to go to their tasting room, and got a bottle of wine; another 20 mins to get the server's attention after getting seated and probably another 40 for the food to come. That was probably the most irritating.

We sat inside, where the space features exposed brick, artwork throughout, and very comfortable seating... my partner specifically pointed that out. The layout includes a mix of seating areas, which gives it a more relaxed, layered feel. The bar area, known as the Ghost Lounge, adds a darker, more lounge-like element to the overall atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server, Lacy, was friendly, attentive, and witty - easily one of the best servers we've had in a while. For drinks, I had a local Oak Farm red wine that was excellent. Others in our group had mimosas, which were well received... especially the grapefruit mimosa, which my partner really enjoyed. For food, there were several highlights. My partner had the chicken and waffles and loved it; I tried some and would agree it was very good. Another person in our group ordered the steak breakfast tacos, which came as a set of three. They only ate two, and I had the third and it was delicious and something I would recommend. Another in our group had the eggs Benedict and thought it was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs. It was okay, but not something I would go out of my way to order again. In terms of value, prices felt consistent with the quality of the food, service, and overall setting. It's not a budget brunch spot, but it feels appropriate for the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Easter brunch with great service, a comfortable and well-designed interior, and several strong menu items. I'd rate it a 4 out of 5, though if half-points were an option, this would land closer to a 4.5. We'd definitely come back.
