Sent a message through their website seven days ago - still no response (even though they say they will respond within 1 business day). Tried calling their main number -- after 45 minutes on hold, gave up. Finally got a response through Facebook - was promised someone would contact me today -- never heard from them. I've told my builder to return the range hood and swap it for something else, like a Proline. Wondering if this company is even still in existence. read more

I have my order through Airport Appliance on one of their hoods. I asked for a Zephyr salesperson that handles Airport Appliance as I know they only sell through selected retailers. The person on the phone either couldn't figure it out or did not want to tell me but only said a manager will call me. I placed my order in March - two shipments showed up damaged and I'm still waiting for the third. Really don't know which one of them is damaging the product, so it could be that Zephyr is not at fault. I was simply hoping to reach someone who could help track the shipKent. I have been attempting for 6 months to get a warranty issue resolved and reimbursement of expenses as promised and have yet to get satisfaction. I have been given the run around from day 1. We had a Zephyr range hood installed 2 years ago. Recently, one of the LED light strips dropped down and would no longer stay in place. We e-mailed Zephyr to inquire about a replacement. Zephyr customer support sent us 2 new LED replacement light strips, free of charge and no questions asked. You really can't ask for better customer and product support than that! read more

I purchased a wine cooler from Zephyr that needed a repair within the warranty period. I was referred to a local ( fort lauderdale) company that failed to perform. Zephyr chose to send me a replacement at no charge. customer care communicated well and took care of my problem to my complete satisfaction. Better than i expected. I recently purchased a zephyr hood and called to request a list of recommended contractors for installation in the Bay Area. I had to call three times to get somebody on the line. When I did, the lady on the phone simply apologized that they didn't have a contractor list and could not make any recommendations. As a company, you might want to think about connecting your customers to properly trained contractors for installation of your product. After looking at all the yelp reviews, it's clear that zephyr does not have an understanding of customer service after the purchase. Who runs this place? Whomever it is, they need to take a serious look at how they do business. Don't expect to go there when they say the place is supposed to be open. The web shows hours of operation from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. I go there on Monday, July 8th at 10:15 am, and the store is not open. A sign on the door, which would have been helpful if it were also on Internet or voicemail, but was not, says that the store will be closed from July 3-5 and will reopen at noon on Monday, July 8th. I decide to wait around and blow a few hours locally and come back at noon. When I return, they are still not open. I call the main number and nobody answers. I didn't come by only to leave a voicemail to tell this company that they're not open when they say they are, but that's all I could do. While waiting, four potential customers knocked on the door, and I told them nobody was there. That's a total of four pissed off customers, plus myself. This is, by the way, is the second time I've visited the store with the same issue of it closed on working hours posted. I blew it off the first time, but not this time. This negative review is well-deserved. How is this a professional way to do business on any level? I spent an hour to come across the bay and half my day, to come here on the hours posted--a futile effort. Have some pride in opening your facility when you say you will. Have some respect for your prospect's and customer's time. I already bought a Titan fan from Zephyr, I am a current customer looking for a Fulgor Milano product, but it seems like they want me to take my business somewhere else. This is really a ZERO star review. I bought the Ventilation Hood that is flush with the ceiling and essentially operates via remote control when we remodeled our kitchen in October of 2018. This has turned out to be the worst decision we HAVE EVER made. I have had to just contact them for the 3rd time in a year. The remote is garbage and has already been replaced once. Then the second time it stopped working they disclosed that the battery life is only about 60 days?!?!? Who sells a piece of garbage product that you have to buy new batteries for every 60 days and DOES NOT DISCLOSE it to you. A fraud does that's who. Based on the defectiveness of the product and the horrible customer service I would stay FAR away from this company. read more

Some say this is a "trade only" showroom but Charins Appliance on Valencia sent us two regular shoppers over there and the guy let us in and was extremely helpful so we could select a model for our home. He spent a great deal of time with us (at least 45 minutes), no one else was in the showroom. We left very happy and purchased their Savona model which we love. I haven't been to any other range hood showrooms, so, I don't actually know if this place is "as good as it gets", therefore I can't honestly rate it 5 stars, but if 5 stars meant "this place is super", 5 stars it would be. read more

Excellent customer service. Beautiful showroom. Kathleen was super knowledgable and helpful. I called to make an appointment. Minutes later, I got an email confirmation. We were the only ones in the showroom. We asked a lot of questions, even about different design ideas we had, and Kathleen answered all of our questions and gave us a few tips as well. As far as the Zephyr product (we were looking for a wall mount hood), it seems like it is highly rated by many of the appliance stores around. We like all of the different styles to choose from and how quiet it seems to be. The stores appreciate that the corporate headquarters is in Alameda as well. read more

If you're looking to loose the odor in your kitchen when boiling eggs or cooking fish. Zephyr is the fan for you! Like curry but don't want the smell in the house. The Typhoon line is under the cabinet but definitely impressive looking also has to be the highest cfm fan I have ever owned but well worth it. read more

Zephyr ZSA-M90DB 36" range hood: Beautiful styling and a great work light are its only redeeming features. Initially we hooked it up and powered just on its lowest setting we were surprised and very disappointed how LOUD it was, even without ducting connected. No improvement when connected properly to ducting ~ so loud that I cannot hear someone next to me talking normally. Consequently, I almost never turn it on when cooking, defeating its purpose. Turned up to high it is like a jet engine. Embarrassing if you are cooking for company. Contacted Zephyr and they argued that without metallic clicking or obvious mechanical problems it is probably all normal. I insisted that they send someone to check it out, which eventually happened. Technicians were not able to improve the noise level and concluded that the fan is probably just too large for the size of the unit. Bad design. I guess this would be acceptable if it was only a $100 range hood but a pitiful rip-off at $1000. REAL expensive just for a fancy overhead task light. read more

Service is a joke...I was called by Harris & Martin (the dealer in Marin) and was told that a rep from Zephyr will call me in a day or two....I am without an exhaust hood going on day 5! When I asked the service rep to transfer me to a supervisor, he sounded like he was going to cry and said he would get in trouble if the call was transferred! I could not believe my ears. My wife and I were in the midst of a kitchen renovation and needed to purchase a range hood. After looking into the brand with two hyphens in its name and not being convinced, an interior designer suggested that we looked into Zephyr. She said her clients were all very happy with this brand. We then realized that Zephyr has a huge showroom in San Francisco. How convenient! Wife and I got in the car and off we went to the Mission, where the showroom was located. At the front desk was Kerry, who took us on a tour, explaining each product line in detail. She was very knowledgeable with the products and was able to answer all the questions that we threw at her. Best part of this showroom is that it is not there to sell you a product right there and then. So it is not staffed with salespeople who would pressure you into buying anything. Kerry told us we could go to any dealer when we are ready to order. It would be nice if basic info about each model, such as CFM, duct size, dimensions etc, can be listed on the wall. Since there are so many models, it's easy to forget. It can be done tastefully like how a gallery would show the artist name and the title of the artwork. That's the missing star. read more

Bad customer service. Shopping for a vent hood online and there is no way to filter them for how tall they are. Our kitchen is small and I need the hood to fit in a short, shallow space. I call the help number thinking someone would be familiar with the products and could quickly point me to what would work for me. Nope! First I leave a message but Never get a call back. Next time (weeks later) I stay on hold for over half an hour until someone picks up. He is curt and tells me to look online. I explain that I have and what my dilemma is with sizing. He does not understand I am talking about how tall the visible part of the hood is - not how far it sticks out. Finally he insists the only hood that will work is one I mentioned to him, but I know that is wrong - there are others because I found two myself. So after 30 minutes of being on hold I am speaking to someone who has no familiarity with their products and no desire to be helpful. I am now looking into other brands because their idea of customer service is terrible. read more

Their staff rocks! They went above and beyond to get my vent up and running. Even though I bought a floor model and was missing a cable, they replaced it in a matter of days. This thing is a beast and complicated to install compared your run of the mill home depot units (additional external blower and make up air unit), but it sure is pretty and will pair nicely with professional grade Bluestar range. Said they would call a repair service for a warranty repair in my area. Never heard another word. My Zephyr hood for my induction range works great. The people who installed it unfortunately over torqued the screws holding the fans safety grates too tight. So, I could not remove for cleaning without destroying the grates. I explained all this to Zephyr and at no charge they gave me two new grates at no cost. read more

The filterless (no filter) hood fan work in sucking the grease but keeps on the blades. It's counter productive that it doesn't eliminate odours but make cleaning laborious. Not innovative. read more

I have never written a review before, but was moved to do so by the helpful service that I received this afternoon at the Zephyr showroom. I am doing a kitchen remodel, and have been looking at hoods. I had tenatively choosen a vent-a-hood, which is quite costly. My kitchen designer said that she thought that I could get the performance that I wanted out of a Zephyr, at a fraction of the cost. I did a lot of research, and went to 3 appliances stores, and still could not get an answer that made sense. So, I made an appointment to go to Zephry. Kerry, who was willing to accomodate my schedule despite a demonstration going on in the store, was incredibly helpful. She explained the attributes of each model, and helped me choose one that fit my needs -- and was not even the most expensive model that she showed me.
