When I received my bowel it was nicely presented, upon further inspection I was searching for the fish in it. I ordered crab, spicy tuna and salmon in my bowel. I received 4 pieces of salmon, one or two bites of tuna and a saw a few tiny strips of crab. Super disappointed that I came here for a poke bowel which usually is plugged with seafood and this virtually had none. Have been frequenting this location for over a year since moving to the area. Do at least one double order per week. The food served is top notch, but the service can be spotty and the portions vary widely. For some of the workers a scoop of salmon is half a scoop for another worker! NO, I am NOT exaggerating! Mistakes are common. They really should be WEIGHING their portions, not estimating them with a small scooper. This becomes painfully obvious when you see the variation in the amount of fish you get from visit to visit. Yesterday I ordered 2 large "Kindness" bowls; when I got home my wife asks why did I order a "small" bowl! Evidently when I specified salmon only , as opposed to salmon and tuna, the worker put in 3 "small" scoops of salmon instead of the normal 5. I'm assuming she forgot she was doing a large bowl order. This is not the first time this has happened. It's difficult to stand over the worker while other customers are around, and point out the serving errors, even when you do notice them! Although the staff are most often very friendly, one gets the impression that they have not all been trained properly. A couple of the very rude workers I've come across have, appropriately, been axed. So good on you ZenFish. BOTTOM line: Measure, as in WEIGH, the portions, particularly of of fish. If you come in and have the right person serve you, you can get more toppings for sure and some front servers don't care about the mumber of toppings, they usually give u a bit more if u ask for more for a specific thing. Being a vegetarian you might wonder what could you possibly get in a place specializing in meat and seafood. Be prepared to be happily surprised.. Zenfish has two alternative veggie proteins in tofu and sweet potato (both of which I recommend you add to your bowl or burrito). However, what keeps me coming back are the fresh, home-made sauces, toppings like seaweed salad, edamame and ofcourse the pillowy soft rice and quinoa.. the sauces, like truffle ponzu and sriracha aioli, need further mention as they truly elevate the dish, add that kickass spice to it and brings everything together. We frequently go to the Morrisville location, and just recently found this location. My husband and I try to go weekly. Everyone has been friendly and welcoming, but Jeremiah is a standout. He's always so welcoming and friendly. He remembered that I need to be gluten free as he greeted us on on our second visit. My husband and I both got the large to go. You can order at the counter and take out or do curbside or they do delivery through Grubhub. We both got size large but I would get the small next time, it took me a couple days to finish my bowl. You can get different base choices (rice, lettuce, zucchini noodles - I got that, it was good) for a bowl or a burrito. Lots of add ons and sauces. Protein sizes could be a little bigger.
