Cute little poke & pho spot. They have beef pho (you can choose three meats) , chicken pho, seafood, & veggie. It's nothing fancy here. They have a few appetizers and you can get poke bowls! The place was clean, it's an odd space because there's a side of the restaurant that just looks awkward where the soda machine is. Service was friendly and fast. It's a good spot to get your quick pho fix.

Came here on about 12:45 on a Monday afternoon. We parked in the lot below and behind the building (in a spot marked Erwin Terrace. I don't know if they enforce but I didn't want to find out the hard way!) There were only a handle of people inside when we got there so we were helped right away. I got the Bon Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) and my friend got a poke bowl. We sat out on the (covered) terrace since it was such a beautiful day. Our food came out almost immediately. My bowl was HUGE and so so delicious! As I was eating, I was thinking that it wasn't that spicy but my nose was running so I guess it was spicier than I thought. It was actually the perfect amount. I've never tried this at any other restaurant so I have nothing else to compare it to, but I thought it was very good and I would definitely get again. My friends really enjoyed her poke and was very happy it was available with a salad base. I'm not sure if I would get it as the was made like a chopped salad where all the ingredients were combined and mixed in with the sauce. It looked a little too saucy for me but maybe I'll try it next time.

4.5 stars Solid bowl of Pho!! No complaints except for the lack of sauces on the table but could've probably requested some. BIG bowl full of broth and was very healing and refreshing. I enjoyed the pay at the counter and sit down & eat style rather than having it be a whole sit down restaurant with service. Solid bowl of pho if you're looking around for some!!!

This is by far the best Pho in Durham. It's also one of the better bowls of Pho in the Triangle. The broth is well-balanced with a beefy and herby taste. The selection of meat is my least favorite part but they do use quality cuts of meat, from the meatballs to the steak. My only complaint is that sometimes there's no tendon. Overall, a great bowl of Pho! Also, I enjoy the way this place works. You place your order at the front and they bring it out to you.

Bun Bo Hue needs some shrimp paste and chili satay; then it's very good. Being it in Durham, this is very good already. Broken rice is ok. If I don't compare to the real Com Tam, then this dish is good. If you ask me if this is a true Com Tam, then answer is "no". Just copy and paste the name to Google. You see what I mean. Never the less, it would eat it again when I want some rice and grilled pork. Please give Vietnamese customers more condiments like shrimp paste or fish sauce on table All in all, I will come back!

Atmosphere: (don't let this drive you away) while the out door seating is very pleasant, the indoor seating of this place is very cafeteria-esc. The owners young daughters toys seem to be everywhere, however this place was built for takeout I believe. Food: the food is good, they have lots of options, and they will give you decent portions. I only had one time where the tuna was super fishy, but you can just stay away from that. I go here almost every time I'm in Durham. Service: the cashiers are typically nice, sometimes they seem grumpy but over all I've never had a bad experience. And I'd be grumpy too if I was doing that and Grubhub orders at the same time. Side note- the picture with the red tray is from January and the picture with the close up white bowl is from March so they have started giving smaller portions.

After a long day watching Avatar 2 we needed some dinner to regain our energy from the long affair. Given the cold we decided to get Pho, and so we went to one of the few options available in Durham. The Pho itself is fine, it'll do the trick if it's what you want, but you'll be able to find better elsewhere. Finally, Durham has a pho restaurant. I cannot attest to the 'Poke', aka Hawaiian sushi salad. But, the pho is great. Not the best pho I've ever had, but very solid and definitely a spot that I will likely frequent. The broth is tasty and the quality of the beef in the pho is great. Not too many noodles, but just the right amount, which makes navigating the ingredients easy. It's semi-table service, an odd location, but a decent atmosphere. They bring out the food and bus the table for you, but drinks and anything else are self serve. I also get the spring rolls, with shrimp and pork, and those are pretty good as well, the sweet chili sauce for dipping is the perfect compliment to the roll. Staff are polite and service is reasonably quick, it's all cooked to order. Definitely worth a try for anyone who hasn't had pho yet, or people who love pho, especially on sick days or mornings after you might have had a little too much to drink

Hands down my favorite pho place in Durham. After I initially moved here, I struggled to find a pho spot that fulfilled my cravings. Finally, I found pho and poke house. Definitely a hidden gem, they have amazing quality pho with rich broth that isn't overly salty, generous portions, and high-quality meat/noodles. I frequently eat in and order to go from this place when I'm craving pho. Specifically, the chicken pho is my favorite - it is refreshing, flavorful, and not overly heavy. They do a great job of packing it up so that it is still delicious at home, although I would recommend eating at the restaurant for the full effect.

This was my first time but my friend's hundredth (her words!) There was plenty of parking. We were greeted upon entry and informed that we could choose where we sat and just to scan the table QR code when we were ready to order. We chose a high top and a server brought us water. The vibrant colors and decor gave off excellent vibes. I ordered the Karaage Bowl (on greens instead of rice AND all the sauces on the side) and a side order of seaweed salad. A server brought them to our table. It was not necessary for us to get up once we were seated. Everything was SO GOOD. Like, "I'm mad at myself for not coming here before" good. All of the sauces were amazing too. I ordered them on the side since I wasn't sure how I would like them all, but I think I'll leave them on next time. The "greens" were a mix of lettuce and cabbage. The side of seaweed salad for $2.50 seemed a little small when they brought it out but it was packed in there and was plenty. The server came around a couple of times to check on us and top off our water. We bussed our own trash. There was only one unisex bathroom that I saw. There seemed like a lot of takeout orders going out (it was a little separate from the dining area which was nice). There was also a lovely outdoor area that would be nice if it wasn't 100 degrees. I will definitely be back to try more menu items!

My friend is from that area of the world and on her recommendation we tried this new place in downtown Durham. It was terrific, what a find! The restaurant's unique handmade paintings on walls and other Philippino decor was very eclectic and cool. They had a hand painted mural of the famous Chef Anthony Bourdain Which was cool but he's from New York so I'll have to ask the owner about that next time I come back. Lol The place was packed and we were walk ins but the owner was at the reception desk and told us to wait and she might be able to find us a table. We were in luck and she directed us to the back room. The server was extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes. Since I had my Philippino friend along she told us what she liked as well as the helpful server. The food was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. What I ate I can't pronounce so look at my pics of the menu ;) I had a bowl w beef filet, onions, tomatoes, cucumber lining the bowl w Jasmine rice and a fried egg on top. My friend had oxtail and the other had an appetizer of Lumplang Shanghai and entre of Pancit Behon, all food was extraordinary and large portions. No doubt that was why the place was packed! However, we were utterly disappointed with our food there. The bao buns had a tender pork in it but the only sauce it included was hoisin which made it too salty. The Korean fried chicken in the 'Spicy' flavor was flavorless. The sauce was extremely bland alongside the chicken meat inside. Don't let the red bright color deceive you, we kept wondering when the 'spice' would kick it (it never did!). We each got a curry udon and added chicken to it. As frequent curry eaters, we wanted the Asian flavors we enjoy however, this udon was bland as well. The chicken we asked to be added felt like it was just chopped and put over the udon with no actual flavor integration into the dish. We left this place feeling like it was a waste of our money. Given their higher prices, I would've expected something A LOT better with some real Asian flavors.

Parking couldn't have been easier. We found a space right out front in the lot off 9th Street and walked straight in. It was a quiet Thursday afternoon, so we were seated immediately. The dining room has an elegant, relaxed feel, and with only a few other diners it made for a peaceful lunch. Lunch for two came to about $80 plus tax and tip, making this one of the more upscale lunches we've had recently. We ordered: * Crispy Brussels Sprouts * Shrimp Dumplings (6) * Mongolian Beef * Grilled Lemongrass Hanger Steak Salad * Unsweetened iced tea The Food The Crispy Brussels Sprouts were a great start. They were crisp on the outside without being overcooked, and the mint, peanuts, and pickled onions added both texture and freshness. It was also a large enough portion for leftovers. The Shrimp Dumplings were excellent. The flavor was outstanding, and the Thai chili oil, garlic, scallions, and sesame worked beautifully together. My only criticism was the portion size. At six small dumplings, they felt a little pricey for what you receive. The Mongolian Beef was probably the best value of the meal. The beef had a nice sear while remaining tender inside, and the portion was generous enough that we had leftovers for another meal. It had a nice overall flavor as well. The Grilled Lemongrass Hanger Steak Salad was good, but not quite at the same level. The steak had good flavor, but the cut itself was somewhat chewy. The accompanying rice was simply prepared and didn't add much to the dish. The flavors were enjoyable, although slightly sweeter than my wife prefers. Service Service was excellent. Our server took the time to walk us through each dish, explaining ingredients, spice levels, and preparation so we could choose items that fit our tastes. We especially appreciated her knowledge of the menu and her attentiveness throughout the meal, my iced tea was never empty. Overall Juju offers an attractive setting, excellent service, and several very well-executed dishes. Our biggest challenge was simply that much of the lunch menu leans toward spicier offerings than we typically enjoy. While we probably wouldn't return specifically for lunch, the dinner menu appears to offer a much wider variety of choices that fit our tastes. We'll likely be back to give dinner a try.
