This place is great! So much room for social distancing out back. There is a good variety of local beer on tap including a few from hill farmstead. The food is flavorful but still feels healthy. The soba noodles felt even a little tooo healthy for me, ha! But I came a few weeks ago and had maybe the best dumplings of my life so I definitely trust the kitchen! Staff is very friendly and good at keeps lines to a minimum so everything feels safe and clean. We'll definitely be back again especially as the weather cools down.

Thankful for this place. Always good music, good food, good vibes. They also have CBD drinks/etc at the bar.

I had the pleasure of coming here during their lunar new year specials day. The menu looked neat and matched Chinese new year color of red for good luck. Upon entrance the host is friendly and personable. He was very accommodating. Started with egg drop soup and dumplings. I loved the dumplings. They tasted just like chinatown dumplings. I ordered 2 of their Chinese new year special menu. They were delicious.

Really struggled with rating this place. It's truly a 2.5 star execution but we loved the concept and suspect it's the best in the area so don't want to discourage others from checking out the establishment. We loved the ideas on the menu, both food and drinks. We skipped the beverages because they didn't have the specific flavors we wanted in stock to make the cocktails advertised. We had three appetizers and a ramen. The global inspiration seems to be solely Asian and heavy on the Japanese influence, actually. In theory, anyway. In practice it was beautifully presented in a potentially great atmosphere but the flavor just didn't deliver. Nothing was bad (except finding a thumb-sized piece of egg shell in the ramen!) but nothing stood out either. Before I describe any more detail, please know that I eat a lot of Asian food. And Asian fusion. A lot. So I'm comparing this place to a real standard and not "for the area". For the area, they were definitely top of class in the Asian-inspired selection. The tempura mushroom was more like a tempura funnel cake. It looked great with a nice garnish but was one big clump and largely devoid of mushrooms. I dissected it and searched for them, so I promise I didn't just miss them. The crispy cauliflower wasn't crispy, it was mealy and oily. The tahini (sesame seed paste) dip that accompanied it was great, though. Generous amount and fresh flavor. That's the expensive part of that dish so I was surprised at just how generous the portion was for a bit of dipping sauce. The duck sliders were the highlight of the appetizers and the meal overall. The buns are bao, a fluffy sweet bread that is typically steamed which gives it a nice shiny exterior. These buns were topped with black and white sesame seeds, well done, the absolute best execution of any aspect of the evening. Inside the buns were a slice of cucumber (fresh but nothing special-and I discarded it as it is not the right texture for a slider, too thick), plenty of fresh cilantro, crispy duck with plum sauce (a bit burned at the edges but the flavor was decent-it's hard to go wrong with duck breast), and a tiny bit of julienned pickled carrots. That was the right concept, but the carrots weren't additive. Not sure if the flavor was too mild and just didn't stand out or if there weren't enough, but it was a shame, could have pushed the dish over the edge to actually excellent. Without the pickled flavor, it was a tad too sweet, even with the cilantro. Still pretty good and with a few tweaks could be great. The mushroom miso ramen was a disappointment. It looked nice. It had a variety of appropriate ingredients and was super well presented. But it didn't have any miso flavor at all. And did I mention the huge piece of egg shell? Not a small bit, it was literally the size of my thumb to the first knuckle joint. When it came out, you could see a dark colored broth, enoki mushrooms and even three slices of a shiitake mushroom (not quite half of a mushroom), maybe five or six small tofu cubes, a poached egg, and finely shredded Napa cabbage (sometimes called Chinese cabbage, the head is the shape of an endive but large like a football with crinkled leaves and a yellow-green color to contrast the white veins, but the actual taste is the same, just a lot more crunch). There was an 'X' on the cabbage in sriracha sauce, which I think was supposed to be a substitute for sweet chili sauce. We realized later that the sauce was actually drizzled all over in wavy cross-cross pattern, but had sunk into the broth everywhere else except for over the cabbage. The cabbage itself wasn't cooked. That's a no-no for Napa. It should be lightly steamed so that it still has texture but not so that it feels like fresh kale grating the inside of your mouth. The rest of the ingredients were fine for what they were, but it didn't come together. And I blame that largely on the complete lack of miso in the ramen. No miso flavor, no miso paste, nothing. It was just a vegetable broth. Disappointing. Again, it wasn't bad. Except for the eggshell. (Yes, I am obviously stuck on this!) It just wasn't the globally-inspired flavors advertised. Miso isn't for everyone. It is fermented bean curd. It is slightly sour and tangy. So if you don't actually like miso, or if you've never had it, this would probably be a great noodle soup. This might be perfect for Vermont! And it was well presented. It just wasn't actually miso ramen. Love the Zenbarn concept. And the cuteness of the actual barn. Service was so-so and the music prep was only mildly disruptive. Execution of the food fine for the area but not truly up to par on a realistic scale. I'd be ok to return if I was back here but would not specifically seek it out if I was in a nearby township.

Loved my time here! They take reservations and we paid $10pp for table and live music. Worth it. They have an outdoor space that isn't anything fancy but very cool! They provided heaters and most tables were covered. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Masks were enforced unless you were at your table. The cocktails were delicious and the Barn burger was YUMMY! Very chill spot to sit back, sip some drinks and take in some live music. Cool menu that seems to change regularly. Would definitely stop by again!

This is a really fun and quirky place. Ultimate casual Vermont vibe, some nice cocktails and beers, and CBD laced nonalcoholic drinks too. There are a few vegan entrées, plus burgers and enough menu selection to satisfy most diners. There is also a stage for live music, and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and a staff that clearly wants to please. You can't beat that. We stopped in with 3 little kids whom they accommodated easily. We enjoyed a live band. I didn't want to leave. I got the ramen and my husband got the black bean burger. The kids got Mac and cheese which came with a homemade chocolate chip cookie and a glass o

Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant/bar. The food was fresh and the place had a farm to table vibe. Then bar was well stocked and barman friendly. Service was efficient and the environment welcoming. I loved all of the art and the decor. I tried the housemade veggie burger (black bean) with fries. The housemade dijon was great and the burger well dressed with avocado and fried onion. It didnt feel heavy but was filling. The bread was warm which I appreciated and the fries were tasty! If I'm in the area again I would definitely go back.

They officially opened the day before Thanksgiving, and we have been there twice. They overhauled the old Tanglewood space. Feels like they stripped it down to the barn basics and showcased the classic barn features. Warm, comforting vibe. The bar stools se height adjustable - great for us height challenged! The crew here is friendly and pleasant, some are still getting familiar, but they all make an effort to give you a great dining experience. First, we tried their Thanksgiving community dinner. It started with appetizers, but we arrived late, so no feedback on appetizers. Thanksgiving dinner includes candied sweet potatoes, mac & cheese (regular & gluten-free), stuffing, turkey, sautéed greens, mashed potatoes and cornbread. Candied sweet potatoes - thinly sliced with just the right amount of sweetness Mac & cheese - probably personal preference, but it wasn't gooey enough Turkey - perfectly moist & flavorful Mashed potatoes - perfectly smooth & creamy Great community event and family friendly. We came back the day after Thanksgiving with friends to try them out with regular meal service. It wasn't perfect, but expect they will work out the kinks. Tempura Pickled Veggies - delicious! And great with the wasabi aioli Samosas - different approach, wrapped with phyllo sheets, was expecting more of a punch of flavor. This is more of a mild appetizer. Nice contrast in texture between the phyllo vs lentils. The 3 samosas were place on top of the pea shoots, which took away some of the crunch of the pea shoots. Mussels - the coconut red curry was a nice touch, but we weren't given any spoons or bread. We missed most of the flavor, since it was a wide rimmed bowl making it difficult to even slurp the sauce. Norske Rillettes - delicious Starbird smoked Alaskan cod, nice combination of flavors on the stone platter Burgers - in general, they need to flatten out the patties, so that when cooked it can be sized to the bun. Barn burger - okay, but not a standout compared to some of the great burgers in the area Zen burger - nicely flavored, and it kept its shape, didn't fall apart as you ate it Goat Banh Mi burger - favorite of the burgers. strong goat flavor, the pickled veggies didn't jump out. Would be nice to more finely cut the pickled veggies for the burger - bit too chunky Pork Ossobuco - delicious, cooked to perfection. Tender and flavorful. Given all the food we ate, they probably didn't expect us to order dessert. They brought us the bill without asking if we wanted dessert. HAHA We got the flourless chocolate cake and the berry crisp. I didn't try either, but the cake was pretty dry as I watched pieces crumble off as the forks broke through the cake. There were no complaints from our group about flavor though, as both desserts disappeared off the plates. We will definitely be back!

Because the Church is not a practicing church (there are no weekly services) they do as many as three weddings there a day on Saturdays and Sundays May-October. The up side of this is that your date is unlikely to be fully blocked out. The down side to this is that you have little buffer on either side of the ceremony to decorate and un-decorate the building. The inside of the church is well-restored and if you're into a super-new-england-yankee aesthetic, you're in for a treat. It's unique inside and out and the views of the surrounding mountains outside add to the ambiance. Another tiny set-back (but not enough to knock a star off in my opinion, there are too many great things about the space) is that those Yankee Protestants of the early 1800s were by an large a lot smaller than we are today, so the pews can be a little tight for larger (or pregnant) guests. Also, it's BYO - officiant-- so you can have the scenic, yankee, vermonty setting in a church and you can have your ceremony be any denomination you want...or none. Fab.

My kids talk about camp all year long and it has become an important part of our lives. We all love it. It's my piece of heaven on earth. We stay in the cabins. There were plenty of beds. Bunk beds and twins with a little piece that goes between two beds pushed together that eliminates that uncomfortable gap. There was plenty of shelf space for clothes as well. Some people stay in tents, others in the Eco-lodge. There are coin operated washing machines, which is important when traveling with little kids. We brought sheets, pillows, sleeping bags, lanterns and towels. There's no electricity in the cabins but there is in the dining hall and the Eco Lodge. You can charge your devices there and connect with the world if you really want to. We stayed screen free and didn't miss it at all. During family camp there are plenty of activities and kids go to Kidville for three hours in the morning. I love hiking up the mountain, relaxing by the river or taking dance classes. Others prefer glass blowing, art class or playing instruments. Activities vary by week. It's relaxing, people are great, and the campus is contained so I can give my kids more freedom than when we're at home. In the afternoons/ evenings there are organized family games like Quiddich and scavenger hunts. There's no pressure to participate but it was a lot of fun. The food is vegetarian and delicious. Meals are planned with kids in mind and there are kid friendly options. They even published a camp cookbook. For me what makes the camp is the people. Camp was built little by little and with a lot of love. The tiles in the bathroom were 2005 camper art projects, and many of those families return every year. The people who run it live what they believe and they are active in the community, they use solar power and they work hard to decrease their carbon footprint. A tour of all of the features of the Eco-lodge was fascinating. They run different camps for under served populations. Camp Kaleidoscope is for families with autistic children, Camp Outright is for LGBTQ teenagers and they run a camp for families in the midst of high conflict divorces. They don't shy away from hard situations. All families are truly welcomed and it's a non-judgmental, cooperative environment. Communication is real and the friendships are genuine. There is a bit of sticker shock but there is a sliding scale and I believe it is money well spent. The food is high quality and fresh. They invest in maintaining the property with ecologically friendly products, they provide a variety of activities for children and adults, and there are enough staff on hand to deal with issues as they arise. It has been an experience that has greatly enriched my life and my children's lives.
