One of the worst, if not the worst mani/pedis I have ever had. The water in the foot bath was not cold, but it was cooler than room temperature. There was no jetted water at all and the technician, who told me her name was Lana, hardly spoke three sentences, even though I try to engage her in conversation, one of the things she did share with me was her name only because I asked her what her name was, and I shared my name with her. when I talked to her, she avoided my eyes and eye contact, and instead of using verbal instructions, or even using her hands to indicate when she would want me to switch foots, she would tap, and then raise her hand up, like I was supposed to know her super secret hand language. She did not do a good job of cleaning around my toes, or under my nails, even though they really were not that dirty. Every other experience I've had is that the technician does take their time and make sure that everything is tiptop, but not Lana. She left two of my toenails much longer than the other ones, and one of those two is much longer than the all the rest. That's on 1 foot. The other foot, at least the nails were of a similar length. But she did not file them or cut them at all. She lightly filed and then she barely did any kind of callus removal on the soul of my foot. 10 seconds tops on each foot for buffing out calluses. Completely ineffective. Then onto the manicure she did the same noncommunication. Her touch got lighter and lighter to tell me to move hands in and out of the cold water this time, until one time I even said to her., " do you want me to give you my other hand now?" And she nodded. I even said to her the water was cold, she just ignored me. Then, instead of using nail polish remover to get off the little bit of gel that I had left on my fingernails, she used her Dremel tool and used it so vigorously that she burned my nails, and I said ouch several times to her and told her that it burned, she continued to do it even after that. she did not use nail polish, she only use the Dremel tool to get the polish off. I asked her to not file my nails down too much on the top. She nodded her head and then just went ahead and did it anyway. And she did speak very good English when I spoke to her. So it was not a lack of her understanding. It has been a couple of days since the manicure now and the tips of my nails are all peeling off because she filed them so thin they are like paper. Additionally, as you can see from the photographs, there was polish all over my cuticles that she did not clean off. Hugely disappointing! I am not sure if it was just the technician or what because the shop was very crowded, and the lady I was sitting next to during my pedicure was very talkative with her technician, and she seemed to be very happy and said she was a repeat customer when I told her it was my first time there. The one good thing about the shop is that they had a huge selection of nail polish, and the massage chairs for the pedicure were in tiptop shape and worked nicely. But I most certainly would not recommend that you go to this shop and if you do be sure to tell them that you do not want Lana, but again I don't even know if that was her real name. read more

RUN... ASAP! HORRIBLE! came in at 10:15 am... she said 15 min wait. FORTY EIGHT minutes later, a guy tells me to come sit at seat 8.. i had a crack in my nail bed and let him know ahead of time to just be gentle and that the nail tip would just have to go below the cut and he told me no. So i then explained again it was because of the crack in my nail... he got up and said I can't do your nails you will have to wait for someone else. WHAT???? FORTY EIGHT MINUTES... and he has a melt down because i dont want him to put glue in my cracked nail?.. everyone was completely mortified.. then the owner comes to me and says just wait another 15-20 minutes. I went in at 7pm to get a pedicure and when i walked in I didn't get greeted but that's not even the issue. When I asked if they can do a pedicure and manicure the guy that sits at the first chair which was also the person that did my nails prior to this time rudely said no we don't have any appointments left and didn't even try to reschedule me for a later time just basically told me no and get out. I never felt more turned away by a business in my life.I will definitely not be coming to this place ever in my life and if I was you don't even give this place a try because the rudeness is beyond crazy. Well today I went here for the 1st time and it was excellent. I had Myra for a mani/pedi. I love the nail art and she did an amazing job overall not to mention the environment is so friendly. I have been going to this nail salon for years. Some of my favorite girls work here. However, today will be the last day I will ever step foot in there. It took 45 minutes for my 12 year old to be seated because we didn't have an appointment. Fine, I get it. After she was seated, they put the foil on her fingertips with the acetone in it to remove the polish. After 45 minutes, I kindly asked that they remove the foils because her skin was burning. (She is also a type 1 diabetic, so very concerning.) The owner then aggressively yanked each foil off her fingers and buffed her nails but also the tops of her hands. He then, said thanks and sent her away with the manicure we signed up for. By the time she got to me, they already had someone seated in her chair. When I asked, he said he didn't know she needed that. After 2 hours, we turned around to leave and he asked if I was going to pay. I said pay for what? He said, the polish removal for $10. I gave him the $10 but also told him we would never be back. His response, "That's okay". Wow... Ever since they changed management its gone down hill. I've been going there for about 6 years now and I will find somewhere else to get my nails done. My nails are rushed as well as pedicures. Arrived and hour and a half before close, waited 30 minutes and finally helped, the lady had done whatever pedicure she wished just because it's what my friend had gotten. Left an 25% tip and she said really, as if that wasn't enough after the rushed service I received. After leaving my GEL polish chipped and bubbled up. Zen Nails is absolutely the best! I've been going to Zen for about a year and a half now for both shellac nails and pedicures. Kelly has done some amazing designs on my nails - she's truly awesome. I wear my nails short, so I don't get the tips. No matter what designs and colors I ask for, Kelly always pulls it off to perfection...even my fingernail version of a Megadeth album cover!! Everyone who works at Zen are friendly and understand what you want. And, yes, they speak English almost all the time. Everything is very clean and sanitized, and the nail stations and pedicure stations are organized, neat, and well cared for. Zen has a great selection of polish (shellac and regular wear). All of the nail techs at Zen are good, so there's never a worry when I just drop in. I truly love this business and would recommend it to everyone. read more

She was a regular and it was just my first time. The worst part is he used a razor without asking and since he was too busy paying attention to others he cut the side of my foot. if you want to keep your nails healthy and your cuticles intact, do NOT go here. this place was awful. I've been here once, and i'm usually one to give second chances but no siree i will not be doing that with this place. I went here about a month ago and I didn't write a review right after because i know i would've said a lot worse things than i'm going to right now. Coming in this place it looked promising, a nice asian man greeted me at the front and it looked clean and professional. I was waiting about 15 minutes until i was seated, even though i made an appointment at 6. I asked for pointy nails because it was around valentines day so i wanted her to make them pointy and draw red hearts. Let me tell you... i didn't even let her paint my nails. My experience here had so many problems. 1) i asked for pointy nails, she clearly had no idea how to do that and told me no it'll break. I told her no please do it or I just won't get my nails done. (why are you arguing with my preference??? they're MY nails.) 2) when she tried filing my nails she clearly was new or something because she had no idea how to file a pointy nail from a previously square nail. (i have biogel and my nails are long... not that hard trust me. In another salon a girl did it no problem within 5 minutes) BECAUSE she had no idea what she was doing, she filed my nail down to the point of my skin being exposed on the right side of my index cuticle. At that point the man at the front desk had to come and take over for her since she didn't know how. 3) when she was trying to file off the top of my other manicure she filed to the point of blood in ON my actual nail. 4) i asked for my cuticles to be cut... THAT was a mistake. she was cutting the cuticles and i kept saying OW and OW and i took my hands away at least 3 times saying that hurts. I looked at my hands after and they were butchered and bleeding. I started to cry while in the salon. I let her finish the biogel part and when she said this colour? (pointing to the colour i initially wanted) i said no thank you. i paid, left her a 20% tip (because it's the last one she's getting from me ever) and left. I'm not necessarily putting all the blame on the girl who did my nails, i mean she said she'd only been working at that particular salon a month or so... but she's been doing manicures for over 10 years. Went to Zen Nails & Spa for a pedicure and got an infected toe. Went to DR to get meds. Notified the owner of my infection and he said sorry, and proceeded to give me fungus drops that expired!!! (I don't have a fungus, he even looked at my toe, shows you how much he knows) and "kindly" with his hand on my shoulder directed me to the door. I came here about 10 days ago and got a pedicure and acrylic nails with the gel polish just simple French tips on toes and hands now I will say Mina did an excellent job she was very sweet and gentle she took her time my only complaint is 4 of my acrylic nails have already come off now this may be because I work in an office and I type all day long but then again I've never had a problem like this before so my conclusion is they have to be using cheaper products or something but like I said Mina did great! This is the second time I went to Zen Nails, and I won't be going back. The first time I got a mani/pedi with a girl who had just started a few weeks ago, so I just passed off my poor service as difficulties of being in a new job. The second time I went, I picked out a color that I liked and when she asked if I wanted sparkles I said OK since it was almost NYE. She ended up picking a completely different red that I would never have chosen. Throughout the service, she then insulted my ethnicity (I'm Korean), told me I was too old not to have kids (I'm not even 30), and also told me that I needed to have my eyebrows waxed because they had no shape. I wasn't wearing any makeup and hadn't even used a brow comb/brush because I was just going to get my nails done to unwind and relax. I can tell you that I didn't relax whatsoever during my terrible manicure. She threw the lotion on in about a second, and she never massaged my hands/arms despite charging me for a manicure. She did a terrible job filing my nails, so much so that I had to come home and fix them. As I said, I will not be coming back. read more
